they dont start promoting it!! no one i know even knows it exists!! wheres the adverts, posters, songs on the radio, videos, apearences from michael himself??? its gonna flop if he dont do something fast!

Oh no! The world's gonna end because some crappy remix doesn't chart. I'm going to rush down to the bank and withdraw all my savings and spend the next 25 years in my underground bomb shelter.

Hmm... There has been a lot of radio play- I guess it depends where you live and a LOT of internet news, articles, etc, and all these official Michael Jackson pages have gone up. Not to mention the superbowl ad, the appearance on the NRJ awards, etc. It will chart.

in the uk no one knows what the nrj awards are.

all i was saying was it would of been nice for it to chart.

this is a problem uk is a big country and the most important music market in europe.they should have done beter work there..in greece nothig happen too but greece is a small market.

In UK Michael needs less promotion. People will still buy his releases. There are so many fans, they know about it and bring T25 onto charts I'm pretty sure. And then it will be noticed and sell more. Im sure it will sell good in UK.

I have heard it more and more on Kissfm, and I know that lots of peeps in the UK listen to kiss, also when the remixes are released the stores will have posters etc so I think those who don't know will see it on store windows or inside the record shops etc. As long as those that know buy it say this week (when TGIM) comes out and get it high into the top 40 singles chart (into the top 10 or 20 will be g8), they it will have more airplay etc

To be honest, i think they will show adverts in the UK just before the release of the album, but... I haven't seen any posters in HMV or any music stores in the UK. I haven't heard any specific promotions on tv or whatever.

Not sure how radio play is going - I personally haven't heard any of the tracks though.

Cartman, you're back!!! Are you the same Cartman who was around during Invincible era and before that?!

They should promote it like they did for Number ones! it was everywhere!

You are!! :) CARTMAAN! I like the way you rock, the way you rock! :)

Number 1's wasn't majorly promoted until its actual release though. Then after the release there were some adverts I think, and there was promotional material released... a LOT of it. Like the twelves boxset etc.

Number 1's was quite well promoted even up until a few months back when they released the slide pack version at a discount price.

Yeah and it is believed that, its sales weren't that bad as well...around 10 million.

Yeah. Doesn't surprise me. Releasing 4 different covers is never a bad idea. Sony started doing that with Michael's albums when Invincible was released. It's a very good marketing ploy, and can never really fail. There will always be people who want to buy the set - even just general music lovers.

Its the same with this Thriller 25 release. Although there is some confusion about what versions actually include what content, and what is holographic and what isn't - when these releases are physically in stores, im sure the differences will be more striking.

Most of Michael's recent compilation projects or re-releases have actually been very successful. The Essential MJ was absolutely huge in France - it sold incredibly well. It also did very well in the UK; TV spots for the album were shown etc.

The UK of all countries seems to chart a lot of underpromoted material.

In Ireland theres been reviews of Thriller 25 in the newspapers and its been very positive.

the campaign starts Feb 8 and the TV ads start AFTER it comes out. I think thats smart. If i see an ad for something and go to the shops that day and think about buying it, and its not even in the store yet, ill probably not bother looking again.

I wouldn't be shocked or saddened if it didn't but usually Michael's releases do exceptionally well in the UK.

yah, didnt most if not all the visionary singles debut in top 30 wth no online release and little to no promo?

yupe, that's the case for general music fans.

Sony will want the new Thriller to be a strong seller for years, and it will be.

Better it stays at number 32 in the chart for two years than number one for a week...
