TV ALERT: BET Honors; Friday, Feb 22; 8/7 PM central time

It should be obvious to yall by now, that there will be no tribute to Michael. He was not there. If Ne-Yo sings a Michael song, it will be in tribute to someone else. But I think the Michael thing was cut out because Michael, for some reason, could not show up.

her Back To Black album was released way back in October 2006 :) T25 is doing more than great, but it won't reach the potential of Winehouse's 1.5 year chart-topper.

and i agree we need to let the Grammys thing go, but when you say "third lowest watched", you need to take into account that 18million people still watched it...

It still was the third lowest rated nothing can change that, let's contrast to 1984 when 40 million people watched the Grammys and the following week a certain 'Thriller' album sold 750k the week after that show, now tell me how that even remotely compares to today's sales.

thanks qbee

? you're asking me questions on obvious things i've never disputed.

i'm saying 18 million people still watched it - that's a lot.

and for the record, it was just above 50 million people who watched Mike back in the day. and no doubt more would have tuned in to this year's show if he appeared:

both spikes after 1984 were from his appearances - 30 million wouldn't have been bad :)

Wow, few people saw MJ's 1988 performance than his 1984 sweep!

LOL yeah.. i think it had a lot to do with the reception of the albums at the time.

So the Ne-yo performance of The Lady In My Life was completely cut from the special?

you would've thought people would start uploading the early performances on youtube by now.. come on!

oh man whats going on? this was even featured on michaeljackson.com earlier in the year. just another disappointment by awards shows pulling the plug on positive MJ stuff.

if i were to feel disappointed with this Thriller anniversary, it would only be for Mike not seizing the retrospective feeling of it all by coming out with a new album, new performances and attending those shows. but looking at the reality of it all, T25 is doing great and he's definitely working on new material. no need to dwell more on the successes of the past, so i'm a happy, surprisingly patient fan.

Well yeah maybe disaponting for the fans who
want to see Mj - but ist no sweat or big big
deal - MJ has plenty of awards for special
acheivments - one less wont hurt him or his
career --

I dont think MJ wants his come back to be off
the merits of Thriller _ he wants to come back
strong with New material _ and is laying low
becuase he is working on something .. absense
makes the heart grow fonder -

must've been, I didn't see it. I guess since Michael didn't show, they didn't play it. And from what Cedric the entertainer said, they would've preferred MJ

You win thanks for correcting me :flowers:

its not the fact that we wanna see michael or anything... its the fact that Neyo is on the BET Honors website as a performer.. he said to ALL reporters he was doing a MJ tribute.. the grammys ran a TV advert showing a MJ tribute.. and NONE of the things happened. If we were never told they WERE happening there would be NO disappointment coz we wouldnt have expected it.. but we WERE told and its just plain wrong.

correct they shouldnt advertise it if they were not
going to air it - but I believe it was in the original
BET awards it was just edited out - could be MJ
asked them too becuase he woudlnt be there

We dont know why ?? probably becuase it would be
awkward if he was'nt there to except -- but the honor
is stiil his it just was'nt televised - Just as the Grammy
hall of fame awards are still his - even though he didnt attend.

Im glad its all over with now ..
and MJ can do what HE HAS planned for his career
and comeback appearance ..

read header... it says Thursday 28th ... are you guys watching the right show?

This one stated on the 22 but it must be when it will re-air on that date that it's being advertised on that website. I am sucpicious about why some of the preformers mentioned in that link weren't shown. Strange.

Re: EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Neyo - Lady In My Life (BET Honors)

Thanks for posting damian, Ne-Yo did a great job with that song, he sang it with so much passion bless :)

Re: EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Neyo - Lady In My Life (BET Honors)

Thanks Damien for posting. I was reading the other thread and they said that BET didn't air the performance  Why do these award shows advertise an MJ tribute and then not show it?
