voted for Michael!!! don't really see why Springsteen is first tbh. IMO the top three should be: 1. Michael Jackson, 2. Freddie Mercury & 3. Bob Marley tbh

He needs a lot of votes. To me icons are those who did something phenomenal in their field, like the moonwalk, multiple awards, set trends, huge shows, etc. Although I like Bruce, to me he is just a popular male singer. I can't remember him doing any iconic things.

Bruce IS an icon.

Who else churns out album after album of new material that manages to be commercially and critically successful 40 years on?

Anyone who has taken the time to really listen to what this guy sings about, what he means to millions of people of all ages around the world, and anyone who has seen one of his marathon live shows (that are genuinely 100% live btw) will know just why Bruce is an icon.

Let's not have sour grapes folks. Bruce and MJ are both awesome.

And all of a sudden Freddie Mercury leads with 53% and MJ is down with 14%. Hmmm...

BTW, it now allows you to vote as many times as you want, so I guess whoever has the most presistent fans will win. LOL.

Voted of course, but it proves nothing except whose fans bothered to vote multiple times or set up auto voting software. Nobody except polldaddy will even know the outcome of the vote or acknowledge it .

And reading the comments on that only confirms even further just how overrated Elvis Presley is. When i read comments like ''These artists wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Elvis'' makes me facepalm. Elvis Presley did not create the type of music he performed and Michael said himself that Elvis was never an influence on him
