Great news from Australia!

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" has debuted at #20 on the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart and #14 on the ARIA Top 50 Digital Track Chart.

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" is the highest new entry on the Digital Track Chart and the third highest on the Singles Chart.

The Top 100 Singles Chart is calculated on the basis of digital and physical CD sales. "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" has not been released as a physical CD single in Australia, so its position is based solely on digital sales.

"Live in Bucharest - The Dangerous Tour" falls three places to #30 on the ARIA Top 40 DVD Chart.

Extract from ARIA's CHARTIFACTS for the week commencing 4 February 2008:

To coincide with the 25th anniversary release of Michael Jackson’s Thriller (considered the biggest selling album of all time), comes a re-make of the first track on the original album, Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’. The re-worked 2008 version features Akon on lead vocals and was produced by will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame. The original, released back in 1983 was the fourth single to be lifted from Thriller and peaked only at No.25 in Australia. This is Jackson’s first Australian top 20 single since You Rock My World (No.4, Oct. ’01), Blood On The Dancefloor (No.5, May ’97) and Stranger In Moscow (No.14, Nov. ’96). Other artists to be featured on Thriller 25, due for International release next week, are Kanye West and Fergie.
