Why are some people so cold?

Im sick and tired of hearing people make fun of Micheal Jackson its making me sick. Everytime someone brings him up I have to defend him seriously all I ever hear is I liked him when he was black before he turned white. I'm always saying he diddnt TURN white it was a disease! and they all go no he got surgery........ than they start in on how he was strange and when I say no he wasnt strange he was perfectly normal and he is my hero than they start giving me a bunch of crap ):
 
Unfortunately, that is the harsh reality when you're a fan of Michael's. I understand how you feel, it's really frustrating how some people can't see what we (the fans) see in Michael. Just keep on fighting for him and defending him! That's what we all do... :better:
 
It's always been rough being an MJ fan with all thr ridicule it gets annoying but when people are telling jokes about Michael's passing that just makes my blood boil

In time you learn to turn a deaf ear to the rubbish you hear about Mike.
It's hard I know. But if it's hard for us to hear it just think what it was like for Mike......?:(

He endured so much so try to turn a deaf ear to the negative comments.

Focus and channel your energies on loving him and learning more about him and enjoying all he gave you, and us all. :agree:

there will always be ignorance unfortunately........just part and parcel of a fallen world we live in. Remember there is alot of love out there.......
L.O.V.E ! We must try to honour Mike by showing love.
 
For this reason I NEVER mention him, it always goes like this if you do:

'Yeah, he had some really good songs like Billie Jean and Beat It, but then he turned himself white, got loads of plastic surgery, molested children and was a freak.'

Then if I try to defend him they just don't listen or deny everything I say, they don't want to see him as anything else because they can't admit that they're wrong.

Makes me so sad. :(
 
Some people are just ignorant in general, especially towards Michael. That's probobly how they were raised. They hear what the media and tabloids have to say about Michael and automatically take it as the truth. People also tend to put him down because he doesn't "fit the norm" or live up to their standards. That's why I'm always very cautious about who I put my trust into.
 
These people just don't understand. They don't get THE PERSON. They just believe what the media tells them to because unfortunately, people like to belittle others. People have an addiction to gossip, the juicier the story, the better. They really don't care if it's true or not.

There isn't really a point in arguing your side because they want you to come up with some big "story" as to why Michael isn't whatever they say he is so they can say he is, with no proof. It's all just to annoy you.

But if you do choose to entertain them, you could tell them you are willing put aside the fact that they are wrong and offer to give them two good things for every bad thing they can come up with. Laugh at their suggestion, give two, and when they run out of things to say, you will still have a big list of good things to say about him.

Most of these people don't even that know many of the false stories. They go on about the same couple of stories over and over but they have nothing else so if you know your stuff, you'll have no problem. Even if you don't, you can find literally hundreds right here on this forum and all over the net.

Bear in mind, this could just result in 'Yeah well he's still (whatever it is they're saying)'. If you have the willpower to ignore it, they will get bored eventually. It's your anger that fuels them. They just like to see that it bothers you.

Sorry for that rant by btw! Sometimes I just can't stop typing...
 
I hate the, 'he was cool when he was black before he turned white' comments too. :angry:

Some people are so stupid to think that Michael's music was downgraded when he got vitiligo.. :rolleyes: Stupid ignorant people. Just because he stopped making the typical mainstream song and became more socially aware, it doesn't mean that his music stopped being great...

Grrr.... Damn them.

Just never lose faith. Michael has a lot of fans too. No matter how hard it might be to see sometimes, know that. You're in the same boat with millions of people- Mike's army of L.O.V.E. :p
 
usually comments about Michael's skin color come from uneducated people.......people who are just ignorant or are just to damn lazy to look up what vertaligo is ....I too have taken up for Michael many times.....I really think some people will just argue with you just because they like to see you get upset about the subject....like I said ignorant.
 
Just try to avoid these kind of people. If they happen to be close friends or relatives, don't upset yourself by trying to make them understand the truth about Michael.
I actually had to throw a really ignorant grown yet immature woman out of my Halloween Party at my apartment last year. She didn't even have time to put on her jacket and shoes, I just told her to get out and watch her mouth about MJ. She had it coming though, she wasn't even invited and was rude all evening to the other guests.
 
The only way to win is to fight back with Love. We should always show respect even for those we know are wrong. As Porcelain said some people are just ignorant in general. People fear what they don't understand. People can be paranoid or that they feel threatened around someone diff. or they are afraid of differences. Michael was and still is the most famous person ever, he really was a magnificent Supernova a perfect target for those who envied him. Just look at our history people killed Jesus they killed Gandhi, Martin Luther King and now Michael Jackson. Why did this happen??? Maybe because they were probably too good to be true and some could just not accept that. Sometimes it is really rough being a Michael Jackson fan but keep on fighting with L.O.V.E. for him. He gave us all his life unfortunately some are to blind to see that. But we can make that change and show how he made us better how we grew up and became better people because of him no one can take that from us no one. Its just everywhere I go. I always wear something Michael related at all times whether it be a shirt or my black fedora or my most prized possession my 1982 beat it jacket everyone always tries to say bad stuf about him /:

I disagree. A lot of religious people are very cold-hearted towards those that don't share their belief in God.

That's right and I experienced that myself so I know how I feel. Faux News is a big example and there are really religious people that are really cold towards Mike saying cruel things.
 
I think alot of those people, deep down in their hearts, know that Michael isn't any of those things, but they just don't want to admit it for some stupid reason. They think it's "cool" to make fun of him. I have had somebody say that whole "I liked Michael before he turned white" thing, and I'm like.. do they not realize that he was the same person he was after his vitiligo as he was before? Forget about his skin. He was still the same Michael.

Unfortunately, they don't see what we see in him, and frankly I think it's their loss.

I so disagree with that.:no: These are at times the main people that hate Michael. I have so much to rant about that, but I don't want to turn it religious. I mean look at some youtube comments of some people who claimed to be religious who think MJ should burn in h**l for doing things to kids, even though he has'nt touched a damn child.

I don't mean to disrespect your religion :cry: but that is sadly untrue.

Yep, they are. Sometimes I think that some haters look for a reason to hate him. I can accept a person that doesn't like his music we all have different tastes. But I hate it when some haters take it personally even go as far as picking on PPB that is when I get mad.
 
Just remember that people are ignorant and brainwashed by the media.
I know it hurts, but the only way I get through what people say is to think to myself "I know the truth".

I look at him as way more than a musician to me he is a friend who has always been there for me and has always made me feel happy I know I diddnt know him personally but he has always been such a major part of my life and when people speak ill of him its like there insulting a close friend or family member.

I dunno it that sounds weird or not but thats how I feel about him and when he died part of me died as well.

They don't know what they're talking about. The media is all they listen to. Brainwashed.
 
I bet all those people who claim "he was cool when he was black but then he turned white", listened to the Bad album (when he had "turned white" already) and the Dangerous album. I bet they screamed the loudest when they heard "Black or White" and went to his concerts. They are just hypocrites and forget that most of them liked songs after the Thriller album.
People are like sheep: they just follow the herd. And bashing Michael has been like the No 1 sport in the media. It was so easy to make Michael a target. It started in the 80s and when you repeat a lie for decades, people are bound to eventually believe some or all of it.
 
The answer to this question is very deep. It really goes back to their upbringing. Being raised with no love, no care, neglect of interest, improper mentor-ship, harsh verbal abuse, physical, etc or anything improper or contradicting. Usually neglect has strong emotional effects on a child. Then the effects usually transfers over to schools where it gets really wild. After years of this torment, not many are able to keep it together and tend to spew the negative energy around one another, getting "used to it" or accepting it as the norm, creating convenient philosophies to justify their negativeness. Sometimes you almost agree.
But... there are always those who were just born with mental complications, ultra sensitive, etc, easy to influence with either energies, good or bad.

The fact of the matter is, there are good people and there are bad. The best thing the good people can do is the same the bad ones do. Try and spread your energy.

I recommend you dont let them get to you too deeply. I know its disheartening. I know.
But don't let it suck you in to the point where you bark back at them and basically become the same as them. That's what happens almost every time when one gets into conflict with a negative nick.

So I wore my Beat it Jacket to college today and almost everyone had crap to say this one group of people kept saying Billie Jean when I walked by and finally I had to correct them and was all does this look like a sequinced jacket to you? and they got all pissy and actually tried to start a fight with me -_- I just kept saying stuff Michael would say I told them to go on their way but with the Love its all for Love L.O.V.E.

and they just got even more mad and walked off hahaha
