Or perhaps she changed her mind when presented with new facts a decade later as rational people do? Have your opinions not evolved in any way for the past 10 years? And I don't believe for a second that Hilary Clinton ever advocated the forced deportation of 12 million people. I'd love to see some evidence of that - preferably something that's not plucked from a rabid right-wing conspiracy website.
Plus, Bernie is not a socialist even if he chooses to call himself that. The Scandinavian countries he so admires are not socialist either.
I personally prefer Bernie and his politics and views, but I, too, don't understand why so many people condemn Hillary as this lying, evil devil, or either of the Clintons for that matter.
I 100% agree that people can and should change their minds on issues, once they become better educated on the facts or by their experiences. I don't get why so many politicians get accused of "flip-flopping", when that's not true-everyone is entitled to grow and change. My biggest disappointment with the Bush administration was when we invaded Iraq based on the intelligence, and I honestly think that when they didn't find any, Bush should have come to the people and say "we made a mistake" and pull out right then and there. That would not have made him less of a man.
I, personally, have done a 180 on the subject of gay marriage. I believed totally in "civil unions" but I didn't like the idea of gay marriage. The words "marriage" meant a religious thing to me-and I'm definitely not religious. But one night I was watching TMZ (of all things) and that group was arguing about gay marriage and compared it to the laws when black and white people could not marry-and it was like a rock hit me in the head.
It was the same-and marriage didn't have to mean a religious ceremony-heck, you can get married at the justice of the peace, you can get married at a drive-in in Las Vegas. I couldn't believe how stupid I was.
So I became adamantly FOR gay marriage and I celebrated when we finally let it happen.
I think Hillary is a very smart, very experienced politician that honestly means well and I voted for her against Obama in the primary eight years ago-I'll definitely be voting for her again.
