Thanks TSCM, i hope this shuts up the crying babies in this thread who think the Grammy's don't honor all time classic albums, even the Beatles are getting honored and i can bet the Beatles fans aren't behaving like ungrateful morons because of the album being about 40 years old.

Its part of being a fan

Everyone has HOPES and EXPECTATIONS for Michael

If an award show comes up, of course fans want to see Michael there!! Its natural!!

If you dont like it, or can't hack it, your in the wrong place LOL

Yes it's natural to WANT it but when it doesn't happen its plan CRAZY to go and insult the man and act like the sky is falling because of it. MJ not being there is no consequence to MJ....it is ONLY a consequence to US...and what WE want is not the only thing that matters here.

And believe me ridiculous things happen in life all the time but i'm not throwing in the towel am i? U take those ridiculous things and put sense into it lol

And it hella ain't "natural" for me to have a desire to control what MJ does and doesn't do with his career and his life and his free time sooooo ....

Untwist those knickers and calm down

No1 is controlling MJ, no1 is insulting him, no1 is telling him what he can and can't do

Its just people expressing there desires and wishes

Um...MJ is RUDE for not doing this and that?

Ummm Ive seen people say MJ is scared of showing his face in public, and that he's scared of performing and that he'll never perform again......

I've seen countless posts about what he needs to do and how he's lazy and he wasted opportunities and how they can't BELIEVE he did this and the "how dare he not" overtones...and all this mess. I'm not overreacting and I'm not imagining that.

There are ways to express desires and wishes, but the above is certainly not waht's needed. The "sky is falling" mentality is not whats needed.

A simple "I wish he would've performed, or I'd like to see him perform" would be sufficient, minus the whole "MJ messed things up by not performing" mentality and the "he don't know what he's doing so i'm gonna tell him what he needs to do" mentality lol

In honor of the Grammys on Feb. 10, we came up with an unofficial list of our 10 favorite (or at least most interesting) past Grammy performances. Click on the title for the YouTube video, and click on the other links to get the music from RUCKUS.

1. Eminem Feat. Elton John – Stan
Elton John joins Eminem in this amazing performance of Shady’s hit song “Stan.” See? He isn’t as homophobic as everyone thought he was.

2. Chris Brown – Run it
I don’t even necessarily jock Chris Brown’s music that much. Regardless, if I could dance like that, I would have a lot more success with the ladies in the club. Brown is only 18, so he’s got a lot of time to “Run It” in the clubs.

3. The Clash Tribute Performance (2003)
Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl, Steve Van Zandt and Elvis Costello come together for this tribute to The Clash.

4. Various Artists (Seriously, there’s so many)
A performance of Across the Universe as a tribute to The Beatles. I don’t even know when this happened? Did this really happen? I don’t even know if I like it, to be honest with you. There’s a good chance John Lennon is turning in his grave. Interesting, nonetheless. What do you think?

5. Michael Jackson – Man in the Mirror (1988)
Black? White? Who cares…This is my **** right here.

6. Madonna – Hung Up (2006)
This begins with help from the Gorillaz and spins into a high-energy performance complete with b-boys and b-girls, strobe lights, and some poles. Definitely proves that Madonna is still hot.

7. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men – One Sweet Day (1996)
Some of the best ‘90s R&B in a quality live performance. Mariah’s rockin’ the big hair while Boyz II Men rock the matching suits. Classy.

8. Britney Spears – From the Bottom of my Broken Heart/…Baby One More Time (2000)
Ohh Britney… you might’ve hit a few flat notes, but you were normal then… maybe your other hit single “Drive Me Crazy” was an indication of things to come.

9. Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, Lil Kim – Lady Marmalade (2000)
Even though this song got pretty annoying after a while, it was a hot collaboration for these four hot chicks and a great live performance—Lady Marmalade herself would be proud, whoever the hell that is.

10. Janet Jackson – What Have You Done for Me Lately (1987)
Ok, this video is terrible quality, but you know you loved your VHS player. Despite the cracks in the film, old-school Janet never fails to deliver—watch for the awesome back-flip during the the song change.

Angie J - Thanks for posting this. MJ should have been higher but it is all good. I like that comment he said.

^ i have to say Chris's performance was pretty interesting and fun. But he is sooooo out of tune. (as always).. though atleast he was singing live. At the end of the day though, ofcourse, Mj should be higher.

I'm increasingly noticing that the more positive the news becomes, the more negative certain fans become. No matter what Michael does or does not do, some people will never be satisfied. This is true across every major MJ forum, or so it seems. Nothing is more annoying then reading a thread, only to find that pages are consumed with just back-and-forth bickering between fans.

I, for one, am excited that for the first time in years the largest music event in the United States (broadcast live on an over the air channel that EVERYONE gets) has decided to pay tribute to Thriller. The GRAMMYs didn't have to do anything in honor of Thriller, nor did any of the artists that will take part in the tribute. When it was first rumored that Michael would be attending the event, many critical fans said they wished he wouldn't. Now that it's implied he won't be attending, a same number of fans are angry about it. He won't win either way no matter what he does... If he would attend and not perform, we'd be hearing complaints about a missed opportunity. If he would perform, people would find even more to complain about, I'm sure.

Whatever. I'll at least be enjoying the special this Sunday, I can't speak for anyone else.

TCSM, you are speaking for me too...agree with everything u said!!:punk:

Yay..I can't wait to finally see Mike Jackson on US television and it is POSITIVE and about his MUSIC!!!

and your're right sugababe...MJ's got .."money in da bank...ma ma money in da bank" :)

I believe MJ will not be there because he did not invite his fans. I think it would be very wrong if MJ went and did not invite his fans. If this was a special event MJ would want his fans to be there especially knowing how much MJ loves his fans.

that's crazy cuz he didn't "invite" his fans to MOSt of the surprises he done over the years. I don't remember him ever saying "hey I'm performing at the grammys, come see me!"

Well every single event was not SPECIAL so there was no need to invite the fans. But if this Grammy's was a special event HE WOULD WANT HIS FANS THERE. Since his fans were not invited it makes me believe he is not going. I think if he sent a video it would be more appropriate. It makes total sense.

mmm fan...the fans dont "need inviting"...THEY WILL STILL GO ANYWAY 2 SHOW SUPPORT FOR MIKE!

Grammys 88 was pretty special. Did he invite his fans to that formally? Na.

If its supposed to be a surprise...which i think is what he's going for with anything dealing with the new new stuff...even performances...he's not gonna let the fans know. That's why it's a surprise.

If it's not , then he'll particularly let the fans know and everyone else.

MJ fans will not attend if it is not comfirmed MJ will attend. There was a show MJ did not long ago (Forgot Which Show) and Raymone confirmed MJ was attending and asked the fans to show up for support. This was not the case regarding the Grammys.

 That's what I was thinking. In the US he doesn't do that "Hey come see me" stuff. Anyone that remembers his Times Square appearance knows he doesn't have to do that.

MJ is not performing or receiving an award therefore he does not need to attend. It is pointless.

^^^ GOOOOOOOODD point

The whole time square RUSHED to him.....crazy lol Closet fans come out when need be lol

Well that I agree with. Just not about MJ not telling his fans anything...cuz MJ doesn't tell his fans a lot of things  As it should be.

fan u r spreading bull*** dont say anything if u dony know s***

 If Michael "invited" his fans, they would have to have money, right?

Michael wasn't about to take no strangers to a party unless he wanted them to come to his concert. Why the world would he want them to go to an awards show for?

MJ never attends anything if he is not performing or receiving an award. All the fans know that.

I am only stating my opinion 8701 the same way you are. There is nothing wrong speaking the truth.

yeh...but fans still show 2 show their love 4 mike!!!!! especally with this thiller tribute happening!!!
