Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

Well that was said by someone who heard it from someone else -_-
They said he'll make an acceptance video...for what? He's not getting any award.
So I really doubt that's true.

maybe for the tribute or for sth that we dont know yet....
well that was said by some fan's uncle who works at the grammy's. i'm not saying its def true but its most likely to be. after all, the story about him attending and appearing on the stage come from demon. i tend to believe the story about him not attending cuz it makes more sense to me. i think he'd want his fans to be there if he was attending so he'd have it announced by now

Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

I have to watch this on sunday! And hope Michael Jackson will be there too!

Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

What Kayne West gonna sing in billie Jean if so, Ye ye. Thats the only thing he sing.

tickets cost big $ and are hard to get hold of so i doubt thats an issue. its not like its an event in europe where u would have a huge turnout/publicity fan wise if mj wanted it therefore anouncing it to fans

Re: Grammys: MJ Sending Acceptance Video

Maybe if he doesn't show up its because of this.............

February 06, 2008. Looks like there will be two less R&B stars at this Sunday's Grammy Awards. MediaTakeOut.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that neither Janet Jackson nor Mary J Blige will attend the awards show. And their boycott has nothing to do with the writer's strike.

A person in Mary J Blige's camp confirmed to MediaTakeOut.com that the R&B queen was NOT invited to perform at the Grammys and will therefore NOT be attending the show.

And Janet's camp had a similar complaint. An insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "[The organizers] are specifically preventing Janet from performing at the event ... That's despite an overwhelming response from music fans worldwide."
Media Take Out???? Another lying sack of suds.

I really do miss the days of MJJF, I really do....'cause I'm just not understanding some of you people.

Whats with all the stress? did anybody tell you guys definetively that MJ was gonna attend/perform? so why this whole analysis of something that you know absolutely NOTHING about? its time some fans just grow up and stop the second guessing game that goes on whenever something has to do with Michael Jackson.

Geez....Michael Jackson will NEVER please all of his fans, remember that!

In a way I dread when news of the new album hits, 'cause some of you are gonna become a bunch of lunatics! I surely hope Michael will be prepared for the assault!

tell me about it. all the moaning and cryng cause mj worked with x y or z.the boards are nothing but but negative B.S lately. mostly because of fans creating false hype in regards to awards shows etc and then when something doesnt happen they get all depressed and put the woah is me attitude on

Wow is he auctaly gonna go? i hope he does he'll totaly outshine everyone else there :D

no it wouldnt. y'all need to take up a hobby and stop criticizing the man dammit

If the man can be arsed to travel all the way to london to accept an award and sing a few lines all in the aid of NOTHING, then i think he could stretch to travelling within the same country to watch a PROPER awards show that has taken the time and effort to put together a celebration of THRILLER, which is also PROMOTION for the album!!!!

Most artists are there when a tribute to them is on stage

AND its not critizism, its called an OPINION, deal with it hun!!

Yeah, baby! I saw the commercial when I was at work. My sister told me about it just when I was about to go out for lunch. She called me telling me that she saw the commercial and we both cheered. We are now trying to figure out how are we going to record the show since we record the show every year since 2000. LOL.

So Michael should go and sit in an auditorium for 4 hours just to watch some lame tribute to him which was probably only agreed to by the Grammy association if Michael gave them something in return? Michael was given an actual award at the WMA's. He isn't actually WINNING anything at the Grammys. So what the hell is the point of wasting an entire evening on them?

A waste???

Seriously a few hours of his life!! Its also promotion for the THRILLER album and also WBSS

I'm pretty sure he'll be there at this point. Great news, regardless.

Re: Grammys: MJ Sending Acceptance Video

The point would be to promote himself and improve his image BEFORE the brand new album release. That's more important than anything else. But secondly to promote Thriller 25.

He'll promote himself by sending a video. It will be just as affective as being there. He won't do anything any differently. And everytime this man opens his mouth and talks, someone trips and makes it out to be weird. So why should he?

Yeah, a waste. He could spend those hours with his kids, in a studio recording new music, spending his time doing what he wants. Thriller doesn't need to sell any more copies and WBSS is nothing more then a remix, not a new song. All Thriller 25 is is a test project to see how the public reacts to Michael being semi-in the spotlight again.

point is he'll do whatever the heck he wants and nobody is to tell him what to do
u can have all the opinions u want but u cant express them here if they're negative towards michael. if ur rude to him and criticize him saying "oh it'll be rude of him if he doesn't show up" then expect me to react

Mate, its 3 or 4 hours, im sure it wont hinder his recording time or family time too much

Just whack on a suit and get there

An appearance would generate a hell of alot more interest than a video message!!

and this is why the boards have become a joke lately. bitching and back biting. because ppl are frustrated with mj.having ago and monaing b4 something has or hasnt happened. maybe mj doest give a feck about thriller 25. you maybe desperate to see him do something but maybe he doesnt give a ****. can some fans deal with that?

I co-sign!... all the b***tching.. for what??

Re: Grammys: MJ Sending Acceptance Video

The album of the year was Joshua Tree. Bad pales in comparison. Compared to Joshua Tree, Bad sounds so dated. It's virtually unplayable outside of 80s retro clubs and stuff for the most part. Sure, it had some great songs. It had a lot of #1s. But the Grammies, for the most part are awards for musical integrity. Bad doesn't show a whole lot of that, compared to Joshua Tree. But at least Bad won something. Best engineered non-classical album. That something.

Dangerous was overlooked because of Natalie Cole. That ish got praised like it was the be all and end all of music. So I suppose Dangerous was then unfairly overlooked, you could say, because Natalie Cole was just hyped on to the max. And then 1993 saw Eric Clapton's unplugged sessions which were brilliant and were awarded rightly so IMO. However, again Dangerous did win an award for engineering.

At the time of HIStory, unfortunately, his private life drew much credibility away from his music. Also, look at who won. Alanis Morrisette's Jagged Little Pill for album of the year and Seal's Kiss From a Rose for song of the year. That album and that song are still cited today as best albums and songs in pop music history. I love HIStory. But it's not one for the general public, the awards organisations. It's for fans and those who care to listen. It was unfairly overlooked. But not just in this regard. It ever possible was it was overlooked. Which is unfortunate. But I prefer it remains one for the fans. Btw, it did win something. Best short form music video for Scream.

So yeh. There are a lot of reasons why it would seem his music since Thriller has been overlooked. He's had hot competition and unfortunately the Grammy association began to judge him by his personal life rather than his music.

My ass. Bad is Michael's best album imo, along with History, the songs are unique and nothing like that had ever been heard before, or since. Everytime someone wants to diss that album they talk about how dated it sounds. Well it only sounds that way because of the instruments used. The songs themselves are fu*king incredible, some of the most creative and distinct songs I've EVER heard. The vocals are outragously good and the arrangements are unreal.
