A judge in California has dismissed a lawsuit brought against pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON by the family of a woman who died at a hospital shortly after she was moved to make room for the star.
Relatives of Maniela Gomez Ruiz sued Jackson and Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, California, for infliction of emotional and mental distress, claiming the 73-year-old was kept from critical care after she had a heart attack on the same day in 2005 that the Thriller hitmaker was brought in suffering from flu-like symptoms.
But now judge Rodney Melville has dropped Jackson from the lawsuit in response to a challenge from the star's legal team.
The lawsuit claimed Ruiz was on life-support after suffering a massive coronary and died after she was moved out of a two-bedroom room so Jackson could occupy it solely. The papers complained of an "outrageous, circus-like atmosphere" in the last hours of her life.

Get me out

Four walls won't hold me tonight
If this town
Is just an apple
Then let me take a bite

Oh so melville does have some ability, shame he did not act in the same manner with the molestation shambles, the waste of tax payers money was beyond dispicable let alone an innocent man being caught up in all this vendetta stuff.

I agree. I guess Melville felt the heat of the criticism after allowing Sneddon to waste so much time and money on that garbage. It's his own fault too IMO. If he had thrown that flimsy case out from jump, he could have come out of it all with his nose clean. But I guess he knew how even more stupid it would look if he let Michael get dragged through the mud on the hospital mess. So he did the right thing and dropped him.

Very Much so ;)

Thanks for the news. 'Nice try Melville' but your name will always be linked to the biggest cock up in the history of a criminal court room, 'enjoy' you deserve it .

I knew Melville wouldn't go there with Michael this time.

And this article says that he has dismissed the case. I wonder if the writer is jumping the gun and meant to say that Michael has been dismissed from the case?

So which is better, To get No 1 or to stay consistent in the charts?

Hmmm......Both? I think after you hit number one it might be kinda nice to linger around that area for a while...or at least simmer in the top 20 and then top 40. I'm guessing that's why there's a top 40 chart...cuz the top 40 are the most important? I always wondered why not a top 50 since that's a nice round pretty number, right? What's so special about just 40??

Anyway, now that I think about it, I'm doing the dang dance since T25 still in the top 40.

And it's selling consistently with all the latest artists (Alicia, Amy, Mary J, etc.) with practically no recent/irect promotion from MJ. Go'on T25! :punk:

Yes, indeed. Go Thriller25:D

I guess it depends.. if you want to break some kind of record.. then just #1...but if you want a return on your album investment (as record companies do..especially if an artist need to cement their relationship with their new record label) - stay consistant in the charts.. unless you sell 900,000 to 1mil your 1st week or 2....

I keep thinking T25 would have hit number if there were enough copies in the stores originally. This way it just got spread out over more weeks. lol

Chrysalis shares dip as takeover talks hit the rocks

By PETER RANSCOMBE

SHARES in music group Chrysalis ended yesterday down nearly 15 per cent after the publisher pulled out of takeover talks with a mystery suitor.

The record company – which has artists including Blondie, David Bowie and Gnarls Barkley on its books – is believed to have been negotiating with rival EMI, according to industry sources.

Chrysalis yesterday said it had ended the discussions with an unnamed party after rejecting a £130 million cash offer for its equity and debt, which valued its shares at 155p each.

Having sold its radio stations last year, Chrysalis said in December it w
as in talks about selling its remaining music publishing and recording business.

EMI and Warner Chappell were tipped by analysts as possible buyers, while Sony/ATV, a joint venture between Sony and singer Michael Jackson, was also expected to make a bid.

But with talks collapsing, the firm's share price slumped as hopes evaporated of a buyout at around 200p a share.

Chrysalis said the credit crisis had sapped interest and industry sources said EMI was the only remaining bidder.

Simon Davies, an analyst at ABN AMRO, said: "Clearly it's disappointing. In mid February, there were three bidders but then the credit crunch took its toll, three shrank to one and 155p is not a knockout price."

Chrysalis, which also has Estelle among its artists, is one of the few remaining independent British publishers.

Shares in Chrysalis last night closed at 115p, down by 20p.

Pete Wentz and Fall Out Boy Readies Video Homage to Michael Jackson Classics

By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
Apr 15, 2008

With Fall Out Boy's cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" a top iTunes hit, and the group's Pete Wentz saying they'll make a video to go along with it, lots of people are wondering what the video will be like. Well, we get word that the group's going all out -- with an homage to the former King of Pop's -_- library of past videos.

Casting was in full swing last week for a bunch of familiar-sounding figures, including various dancers, jump-roping girls, sumo wrestlers, nerds and "a hot Puerto Rican girl."
