Today on Ellen's "Mother's Day" special (with 160 expected mothers in the audience) she and the audience danced and sang to Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', then she got carried away and danced to it again later in the show saying "Sorry, I like that song!" :)

Michael Jackson's Neverland Loan Sold to Colony, Person Says

May 11 (Bloomberg) -- Pop star Michael Jackson averted foreclosure of his Neverland Ranch because Colony Capital LLC bought the loan on the property, said a person familiar with the matter.
Colony, the Los Angeles-based private equity firm headed by Thomas Barrack, purchased the loan from Fortress Investment Group LLC and is in discussions with Jackson, said the person, who declined to be identified because the transaction hasn't been disclosed. An announcement of the deal may come as soon as today, the person said.
Jackson, 49, has been struggling with debts that mounted as he fought charges that he molested a 13-year-old boy in 2003 and held him captive at the ranch, which is northwest of Santa Barbara, California. Jackson was cleared of all the charges by a jury in 2005.
The loan on the 2,900-acre ranch is about $23.5 million and the property was scheduled to be auctioned off on May 14. The auction was canceled on May 9, Fox News reported that day.
Colony spokeswoman Caroline Luz declined to comment. Lilly Donohue, a spokeswoman for New York-based Fortress, did not immediately return a message left at her office today. A spokesperson for Jackson couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

It could mean:

  1. The loan has been bought and refinanced by another company per Michael's request. Which means the interest rate could be lower.
  2. Fortress sold the loan to another company which could mean the interest rates are higher and Michael continues to pay.
  3. Or, Michael sold Neverland outright to an investment company and he no longer retains ownership.
One thing for sure is that the loan no longer is owned by Fortress Investments.

Well, I read the LAON HAS BEEN SOLD to... not neverland.
It is normal that the loan has ghanged hands since MJ and Fortress don't want to have anything to do with eachothers. Seems a part of the whole business thing: auction cancelled, taxes payed, loan goes to an other investor company...

Michael seems to be happy with the way things are working out and we should give it a rest...he knows what he's doing.

This news, along with all the other court issues that have been settled during the past few months is exactly what we have been expecting, Michael is sorting things out so at the time he chooses to release a new album, he'll be able to focus on it entirely.
