Michael Jackson 'phones Jade Goody'

Monday, March 9 2009, 09:31 GMT
By Mayer Nissim

Michael Jackson has telephoned Jade Goody to give the terminally ill reality TV star his support, it has been claimed.
The pop superstar knew Goody after she starred alongside his brother Jermaine on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, The Sun reports.
A friend said: "He learned of Jade's suffering and wanted to lend his support and comfort her at this awful time.
"When she was told Michael was on the phone her eyes lit up and she mustered all the strength she could to have a chat.
"It gave her a real boost and hope that she'll be alive to watch him perform in the summer."
Jackson also spoke to Goody's husband Jack Tweed when she became too ill to continue the conversation, and promised the pair and their children VIP tickets to his comeback shows in July.

this report seems to be a thick version of the story, exaggerated by the tabloids, however it appears to be true about Michael calling Jade, Lorraines post below confirms the news when Max Clifford, Jades PR was on a television program here in the UK, "This Morning" on ITV.

I think that was really nice of Michael considering he hardly knows Jade, he must have heard about how sick she was whilst over here for his Press Conference.

Over one million fans are already thought to have registered for a ticket pre-sale, which opens at 7am on Wednesday (March 11th).

Tickets will go on general sale at 7am on Friday (March 13th) priced between £50 and £75.

MICHAEL JACKSON whipped up excitement for his forthcoming London comeback concerts by buying an entire ad break during U.K. TV's DANCING ON ICE to air clips of his greatest ever performances.
The King Of Pop moonwalked into British homes on Sunday night (08Mar09) when the three-and-a-half minute promo, featuring his past tour highlights, was showcased during one of the reality series' commercial breaks.
It is the first time an artist has taken over an entire advert break during a TV broadcast, according to the organisers of his upcoming July (09) This Is It residency at the British capital's O2 Arena.

Williams, 58, reportedly died of complications from high blood pressure.

He was known in the music industry as a top-flight session guitarist, and he played some of the signature licks on Jackson's groundbreaking "Thriller" album, including the "clean solo" on the No. 1 hit "Billie Jean."

Re: Michael telephones Jade Goody before Leaving?

When Max Clifford was talking to this morning the story was slightly different though.

Posted this in the news thread...

Jades publicist Max Clifford was just talking on the phone on the TV programme called This Morning. He spoke of it but that story is different than what that article say's.

Michael called Jade on Saturday morning but Jade was sleeping so couldn't take the call so Michael called back again yesterday to say he had to leave soon and gave a number for Jade to call him.. When she did he had already left but she was left a recorded message to say he is thinking of her, Everyone is talking about her here and in the States. His brother Jermaine is asking about her and Michael said he hopes everything goes as well as it can go and hopes she will be well enough to come to see him in July.

So sweet of him..

Re: Michael telephones Jade Goody before Leaving?

This is the original article by the Sun, but yes, they changed the story a bit, it's the Sun! lol But at least it's good!

POP superstar Michael Jackson has phoned Jade Goody with a message of support.

The ailing BB legend was “blown away” after ***** made the call to her hospital bedside to comfort her.
Brave Jade’s condition is now so grave she can stay awake for only a few minutes at a time.

A pal said: “He learned of Jade’s suffering and wanted to lend his support and comfort her at this awful time. When she was told Michael was on the phone her eyes lit up and she mustered all the strength she could to have a chat.
While she took the call, Jade’s close friend Kevin Adams — visiting her at the Royal Marsden Hospital — made her laugh out loud doing an impression of *****. When Jade was too tired to talk any longer, Michael continued speaking to Jack to offer his help.
The friend said: “He was wishing them both the best and asked if there was anything he could do for them or the family.

Re: Michael telephones Jade Goody before Leaving?

this just shows how selfless Michael is, you know how it is trying to get everything sorted before a flight, making sure the children are safe and organised...and he made the time to call her before he left, thats very admirable! he is a great person ! :)

I have no idea if this is true or not, the Sun isn't really the most reliable source afterall. But if this is true, I think it proves just how caring Michael is. I remember reading an interview with a friend of Michael's when the trial was going on, and the friend was basically telling the reporter that even though Michael was going through a lot at the time, he was still more concerned about how she was doing. I thought it was so beautiful that Michael was thinking about other people during a time when his entire life and freedom was on the line. I agree with you Dom, Michael IS completely selfless. If more people were like him, the world would be a better place. We can all learn something from this man.

The pop icon's official website launched a pre-sale for his residency at the O2 Arena last week, following a dramatic press conference at the venue.

Around 16,000 people a second are said to have bombarded michaeljacksonlive.com following news of the tour.

An spokesman for the promoters, AEG Live, has described the demand as "extremely high", saying "phenomenal is an understatement".

Tickets priced at £50, £65 and £75 will go on-sale on Friday, March 13 at 7am, with the pre-sale kicking-off on Wednesday.

Michael Jackson live dates ad during Dancing On Ice seen by 11m fans

"Jacksonmania" reached new heights last night with a blockbusting £1million, three-minute prime-time TV advert.
Shots of sobbing, screaming [Jackson] fans were beamed to around 11 million viewers just before the results of ITV1's top-rated Dancing on Ice. Jackson was seen performing his trademark Moonwalk and leaping around on stage in a gold jumpsuit after arriving in a helicopter.
A source said: "You would have to pay £1million or more for a three-minute slot in the middle of ITV's most popular show."
More than a million people have already registered to buy tickets for the This Is It tour, [Jackson's] final UK tour appearance. Tickets go on sale at 7am on March 13.

When did this happen? I can't remember Michael ever landing on stage in a helicopter

Steph, that appears to be the mirror for you, they dont even watch the video they are reporting about, I never saw any helicopter either! hehehe I think I'll remove that report! :)

Becks, Jackson, Pitt losing £80K a week on their recession hit Dubai villas

London, March 9 (ANI): Celebrities like David and Victoria Beckham, Michael Jackson and Brad Pitt are being left 80,000 pounds poorer every week, thanks to the ongoing recession which was crashing into their posh Dubai villas.

The Gulf state had previously attracted many investors who had shelled out up to 3.2 million pounds on pads in Palm and World Islands developments, a string of imitated peninsulas in the Persian Gulf.
Other investors to have made the deposits for top estates included actress Angelina Jolie, England cricketer Andrew Flintoff and ex-Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher.

According to Jack Whisker, of luxury agents Dream Property Dubai, the credit crunch had forced the then lucrative investments to strip down in half the value.

‘The Dubai market has fallen off a cliff. The credit crunch hit us suddenly because all the foreign investors lost confidence,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

‘It has hit the higher-value properties the hardest. Fourbedroom villas worth 3 million pounds a couple of months ago are now being sold for 1.5million pounds,’ he added. (ANI)

i don't get why we automatically give in to tabloid rumours so easily because they seem positive?

Jade Goody and her tabloid bum chums have been sensationalising her image for years, and unfortunately her latest cancer worries have just given them more dosh opportunities to make this z-list celeb 1st-page "news".

they'd make anything up to go with the flow, but it's of course possible Mike still called.

mate, when a tabloid starts off with "a pal said" this and that, i'm always cynical.

but thanks for the tid-bit about her PR confirmation. i'm still a bit cynical, mind you, considering the nature of it all. but that's just me.

yea I understand totally where you are coming from ;) we all have to be a bit cynical when it comes to the tabloids, they havent got a great track record for writing the truth.

u can tell how the tabs talk crap. look at the article and see how false it is compaired to what really happened. and jade aint a fan as the article suggests shes talked crap about him many a time and didnt even know he was an american during Big brother

:hysterical:Fair play to Michael man, he knows we cant afford to pay loads of money to see him so the ticket prices are reasonable, im chuffed! britneys are £120 and Madonnas are more than that, thats mad! Fair play to ya Michael

Michael is a very considerate person... I remember during the Victory tour he had to put the promoter in check over the pricing of the tour tickets...and what's really ironic of all the artist that is worth every penny of a high price ticket.. he is!!

and he picked a great time to make his announcement... right on cue...the CNN anchors were so excited when they showed the press conference... and with this
Chris Brown/Rihanna thing...............many gossip shows... are too preoccupied with Chris and Rihanna to do those useless analysis panels .. with the likes of Diane Dimond and JRT spewing lies and negativity...and analyze to death his every movement and what he said..............

Go Mike!

An spokesman for the promoters, AEG Live, has described the demand as "extremely high", saying "phenomenal is an understatement".

That's the quote of the day right there!

I'm loving all of this media attention. Most artist can only dream of media attention like MJ is receiving since he held that press conference on Thursday.

It's all so excited!

Has for that promo video showing past tour highlights did anyone notice that there was not one clip of the Bad tour?! Don't get me wrong it was an awesome video but it would have been nice to see some Bad tour footage aswell

dont know if this was posted days ago but its an intresting article. the bits belwo are from the wall street journal. but why do i get an uneasy feeling about the fact that thome thome works for barrack. conflict of intrest and all that and who really pushing this tour barrack or mike.and then u get the emss with the auction thrown in and thomes involvement in that

But if Mr. Jackson goes through with the full concert-tour plan, he could be in a position to make an offer for Sony's share of Sony/ATV in about a year and a half, according to people close to the matter, under a buy-sell provision in the partnership agreement.

Last year, Mr. Jackson's Neverland Ranch was saved from foreclosure by Los Angeles private-equity group Colony Capital, which bought the note on the property for millions of dollars. Colony now holds an equity stake in Neverland and is deeply involved as a business advisor to Mr. Jackson. A Colony associate, Tohme Tohme, has been serving as Mr. Jackson's manager for the past year and was involved in arranging the AEG deal.

Mr. Jackson has in recent years cut back on his lavish spending habits, according to people involved. After living in a rural compound in Pahrump, Nev., Mr. Jackson moved briefly to the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles. When those expenses got too great, several months ago, he moved to a $100,000-a-month rental property in the same area.

As part of the deal, AEG's corporate parent, Anschutz Corp., agreed to invest in a pet project of Mr. Jackson's, a 3-D feature film based on his song and music video "Thriller."

People close to the singer say that he is eager to return to work. "Between Anschutz and us, he's got plenty of capital," said Tom Barrack, Colony's chief executive. "He's serious, he's focused, he's healthy and he's listening."

To obtain insurance for the tour, AEG arranged for an independent physician to conduct a five-hour physical exam of Mr. Jackson. "He passed with flying colors," said AEG's Mr. Phillips.

"For the first time in his life, Michael Jackson has people around him who believe in him and look after him," said Dr. Tohme. "And are trying to help him and advance his career."

I thought this was the case but thought I mixed her name up with someone else. In any case, Michael's a special breed. And it shows him to be the bigger person. Maybe after this, should she be blessed enough to recover, she'll show him the same compassion he's shown to her. :)

R.I.P. David Williams. :( I've seen his name in the credits of soooo many artists' liner notes. Such a loss of talent. And that very sad about his lack of insurance. It's a sad and harsh reality about American hospitals and clinics. Hopefully, some kind of healthcare reform will fix this.

Very cool about the Dancing on Ice advert. MJ's still breaking new ground, I see. Sweet!

Thanks to all for the news and mentionings. :flowers:

I posted all that other day elusive, made sense of how all this comes together!! BUT i think now Michael needs ppl round him like this! Its like quincy said, he is that much a perfectionist he never thinks anything is good enough so he needs a PUSH!! lol, these ppl will push him , but what a thing he has to gain! Full ownership of the whole ATV?Sony catalogue !! in one and half years! The skys the limit and beyond for anything he wants to do, as in promo, short films, EVEN what he has tried so desperatly to do for ages FULL FEATURE FILMS!! and of course the MUSIC!!

So i understand your feeling, but i seriously think that Mike has now ppl around him that can manage so much better his career and let Michael be MICHAEL JACKSON!! not have lawsuits everywhere and have to fight these off cus knumbskulls dont bother to pay things, and he only gets to know about it when his name going through ish!!

BRING IT ON!! CUS THIS IS IT!!

and THE TIME HAS DEFINETLY COME!!

Terry

i in particulary liked this quote!! plus i dont AEG or THOME will take any ish! and the only lawsuits will be served are those blackening or trying to blacken Michaels image again!

God, I wish I hadn't read that. You're right, there could be some serious conflict of interest issues here but I soooo don't want to entertain that idea at the mo. Not now. Stuff is already in motion with papers signed and whatnot. Let's hope and pray that, for once, a team of ppl really are working to get MJ back on track...altho the whole auction debacle is not setting the proper tone, if you get my drift. Who fell asleep at the wheel there, eh?? :ermm:

*praying praying and PRAYING*
