MTV finally admitting the truth: MJ received the Artist of the Millenium Award in 2002

Mtv can go n f**** them selves...i will be boycotting them for sure now!!

All these news agencies are not calling Michael the 'well deserved' King of Pop, when previously he was called the 'self proclaimed' king of pop.

It makes me so sad that the truth is only coming out after he left... I wish he comes back to see it all, how much the world appriciated him...

Now that he's gone, they're trying to act like they really appreciated him - giving him the 'Artist of the Millenium' award. F you, MTV - don't pretend you thought he was the Artist of the Millenium.

I did a little digging and MTV said it it wasnt a mistake or anything. But they played it up like it was a gift for his Birthday.

I wanna see what they call the Vanguard Award this year.....the ever changing name.

-D

well they can shove their award where the sun dont shine!!!!!!111111
they can fuck off

in the past few days I noticed a general reaction from the public - everyone is suddenly feeling sorry for him now everybody suddenly understands him!
what about when he was alive? everywhere I turned people were making fun of him. I don't even care to hear about their "respect" now!

That is something I'm never going to get over. Can't they see what they did to him? How low they made him feel? They make me sick.

Guys i still think it's an error or something....below the pictures it says it IS the award.
But in the article i posted..which is new..they say it still was a mistake by MJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't posted since the trial...I'm more of a reader than a poster but I had to write something about this topic:

TOO LITTLE...TOO LATE.

They humiliated him afterwards regardless of what it's called. One Grammy is worth more than any of that BS MTV hands out, anyway. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the tribute on there this weekend. I turned to vh-1 classic and watched Michael videos on there. I was a teen during the 80's so when I came home from school, I used to watch MTV for HOURS, just to catch Michael's videos. We didn't have a VCR then. Ahh, the good ole' days, lol! Well, I DON'T want my MTV anymore. I saw someone from MTV talking about those times and saying "he broke racial barriers" and this and that when they wouldn't even acknowledge it while he was alive. Pathetic. Remember that Icon award they gave Janet? Who else got it? Look, I love Janet, okay..I have all her cds but come on! Giving that type of award to Janet before Michael? That was a slap in the face right there. He's the reason SHE'S on there!!! But that's okay. Janet probably got her grammies glistening inside a trophy case while that piece of crap is sitting inside a storage somewhere in Timbuktu.

What's next? Remember, you read it here first: Don't be surprised if they hold some kind of tribute for Michael at his old elementary school and take that cement block off his name which has been covered since '93/'94??? *sigh*

TOO LITTLE....TOO LATE.

MTv can go f themselves. Ugh...I don't even know what to say. Everyone and their mama are coming out of the woodwork now. Even in their "reversal" they're confusing...was it a mistake? REALLLY? **rolls eyes** IT WAS A SET UP. PERIOD.

I watched MTv the other night as they played MJ's videos because I needed something...but never again will I watch that channel and I HOPE they get what they JUSTLY deserve.

CANCELATION!

MTV can go F**k themselves. they totally made Michael out to be a joke and what makes me sick is after michael died they come right out and say that without michael mtv would have never become what it is today. um ok? what the hell is mtv today? oh yeah crap! Michael is better then MTV and those bastards should just fall off the face of the earth and never come back.

F-ck MTV.
Reading through this thread made me more angrier. I came across the video a while ago, before Michael's death and I saw the Jack Ass Black video of him making fun of him and I couldn't have been more angrier. MTV shouldn't even exist anymore. Their station is full of shit now.

yeah I remember how much fun they made of him  That made me so sad.

So let me get this straight: at the time, he wasn't supposed to have it:

now they say he WAS suppose to have the award??? Why are they saying that now??

Was Jack Black on the same night as Michael accepted the award? I dont remember...

But if he indeed were, then they were all out on a planned mission to humiliate him.

Really an award or not, MTV (and whomever the puppet masters at the channel were at the time) humiliated Michael Jackson with that shit. I remember that day as if it was yesterday because as a viewer watching it, you could see the audience was confused, Michael seemed confused. Britney was the only one smiling and even she was on a different wavelength from everyone else.

I swear, if they start calling that cheesy ass Dollar Store music note they presented to him an "award", I'll have to hurt somebody. And as a birthday gift? Give me a break. Michael Jackson would come all the way to MTV because they want to wish him a Happy Birthday??

As that article someone posted indicated, the aftermath of that whole event made Michael look like he was crazy. Artist of the Millennium? Where the heck would he get an idea like that? Wasn't this smack in the middle of the "phony Sony" period?

MTV has long since lost love from me for a variety of reasons, one of which has to do with how they treated Michael Jackson after he essentially had a hand in catapulting MTV into the stratosphere in the 1980s. Them "quietly" dropping his name from the Video Vanguard Award was merely a twist of the knife. When MJ was riding high, MTV (and everyone else) was right there with him. After shit hit the fan, they all scattered like roaches when the lights are cut on.
