Aw yeah, too true.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

have these people got nothing better to do?!

there is no way I would queue like this for cinema tickets, I don't see it as something a fan should do at all, it's just a bit excessive.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

I'm so excited about this film, I am having trouble sleeping.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

HOLYMACARONI! Go Mike, go Mike! I'm so proud.:clapping:

Re: Jackson fans line up for 'This Is It' tickets

Wow, I didn't expect to see people lining up this early, but I'm glad they are!

I hope the media report about this in the way it should be represented. I don't want them to make out MJ fans are just nuts. This is people eager to see the final works (in progress) of one of the most successful entertainers of all time, and I don't see anything weird/crazy/strange about that.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

wow that is amazing. I would stand there 48 hours too for Michael.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

I luv MJ fans, we will go to hell and back to support MJ.. Man that is a long time to be without a shower.. lol...

yes but its so true!!! we are his army of love!!!

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

I have read a couple of industry folks saying they don't expect the movie to be that big, outside of MJ's fanbase. The guy did not use the word flop, but he made it sound like it wouldn't be big.

I hope all the fans will support this movie...very important for MJ's legacy.

Well it has to be put into perspective. Will this be as big as titanic or Star Wars? No.
Will it be a massive success for a documentary? Abosolutely.

This is not a feature movie as such. It's a documentary about a specific artist and so it's appeal is automatically limited to a finite group of people. This is Michael Jackson though, so it's appeal should be quite widespread - much wider than Miley Cyrus or Jonas Brothers for example. It's quite unusual for something like this to be released in cinemas, so the fact is being released like this just shows the magnitude of interest in MJ's life, death and This Is It concerts. I'm 100% certain that when compared to other theatrical documentary releases (Sicko, Bowling for Columbine etc.) this will do very well. Unfortunately it will be too easy for the media who want to paint a negative picture to do so. They may call it a flop, comparing it to feature films, but that's not fair in my opinion.

AEG president: Jackson movie should clear co. name

By MICHAEL CIDONI, Associated Press Writer Michael Cidoni, Associated Press Writer – 2 hrs 17 mins ago
LOS ANGELES – As dozens of buoyant Michael Jackson fans queued up in the Nokia Plaza to be among the first to see their idol's last performance, others watching the scene expressed mixed emotions.

Tim Leiweke, president of AEG, which bankrolled Jackson's "This is It" tour and is a key player in the film, recalled the moment he got the news of Jackson's death. "Well, at first it lets all the air out of you, and you sit here and you're stunned at how quickly it happened and occurred. You're in denial. You can't believe it. You're looking around, saying, 'What happened?"

Zip ahead some three months, to Thursday afternoon — about an hour before the opening of the nearly two-and-a-half day waiting line for advance tickets to "Michael Jackson's 'This is It'" concert documentary. Leiweke reunited with musicians, singers and dancers from the tour in a press conference held in the plaza, which is just directly across the street from the Staples Center, the site of Jackson's rehearsals, the last of which taking place just hours before his death June 25.

"It's mixed feelings, first of all, to see these guys again, and to be in this space," noted singer Darryl Phinnessee. "You know, we finished rehearsing at quarter to midnight the night before Michael died, and he was energetic and up and doing his thing, as you'll see in the movie."

Crafted from hundred hours of rehearsal footage, "This is It" is directed by longtime Jackson collaborator Kenny Ortega, who had been working with Jackson on the concerts.

"You see the music, the studios, the rehearsals, the dancers, the auditions, the costumes," said Leiweke. "You see all of the behind the scenes, and the you finally see the last few days of the dress rehearsals, and you begin to see the genius of Michael: the dancing, the singing, the choreography, and his concept of creative a one-time performance that no one would ever forget."

Leiweke said the movie also will provide proof that AEG had Jackson's well-being in mind. "I think we still are hurt," Leiweke explained. "Some of the things that people have said about us, which are so untrue, this movie's going to restore his legacy, and prove that we, in fact, gave Michael a second chance here. And an opportunity to make the kind of comeback here was dreaming of. And that we created an environment for him that was probably the best environment that the guy had the last 10 or 15 years of his life. And I'm very proud of the way we treated Michael, and very proud of the partnership that we had with him. And this movie is an opportunity to celebrate that, and we could get past all of the gossip and all of the innuendo."

"This is It" is set to open in cinemas worldwide Oct. 28.

Re: AEG president: Jackson movie should clear co. name

This is what we expected AEG to do - craft the film to vindicate themselves.

anyway, I guess he's right about one thing. they did give him the resource to do the best show he could and I can't fault them for that.

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

WOW! this is amazing, we love you Michael
I wish I could have been there tho, but I'll be there in spirit.

Re: AEG president: Jackson movie should clear co. name

AEG is doing what AEG does best.

:mat: This is a joke right?! How the hell can they stand there & say that? If they had his well being in mind, they would have stopped the shows when his weight started to drop. They would have gotten him proper help. They would have notified his family & let them IN!

Re: People Lining Up Already In LA For Tickets!

Yes some industry experts are saying this film will be lucky to beat the Miley Cyrus film which grossed 65 Million US. They say This Is It will be a success but it will not beat any records or anything. Let's prove them wrong guys. I know myself will be going to see it several times with different people who all value MJ. I want this movie to do amazing. Let's make MJ beat Miley Cryus and give him a new record. I would atleast like to see This Is It be the biggest box office movie for the weekend in the US.

I think the movie could gross between 50-75 million US, potentially more. Globally I believe this movie will gross 150-200 million which would be amazing. Let's make this huge guys, do it for Michael!
