Let's talk about this amazing movie! (SPOILERS!)

Oh my god, it was so good, I can't even describe how i felt. I loved when he made me laugh. In the "wait for applause - wait for applause - umbrella fade out" part when he smiles his little playful smile, oh my god, I felt ecstatic!

And when he was working to get the TWYMMF chords right, and he couldn't control himself and kept dancing!

And when he was on the cherry picker "Weeeeeee!!"

And when he thought "more booty" was funny, and said "i know exactly what you're talking about".

And how he was so sweet and polite when he had a correction or a comment, and always said "with love" and "that's why we rehearse" and was such an angel.

And he is just giving 10% in the dancing in terms of energy, and you would only know it if you've seen him actually perform, otherwise, an alien who had never known him would have thought that he was giving 110%!!

What a sweetheart. "everybody says "they'll fix it", they, they, who's they?" LOVED IT. Love him.

i wish someone would have given me a hug when I was curled up in my chair crying at the end of it. Real MJ fans would have. Although I had tickets for today (wednesday), I ran to the theater 5 minutes before the 3rd midnight showing, the only one that was not sold out, because i thought there would be more hardcore fans there. I was disappointed. Some people were singing along, but not really. Some people were clapping, but not everyone. I wanted to scream and I was controlling myself. I will today, and I don't care.

If any of you were there, we would have been hugging and smiling and crying together.

Words can not descripe how great the film was.

Sooooo many cool moves!

Mj is the greatest ever. The film just made it more sad than ever that he was so cruely taken away.

This would have been the best live koncert in the HIStory of Music!

its funny: i'm a pretty huge mj fan, and i was dancing in my seat, but i didn't really sing along or get up and scream and clap and act crazy because i felt like i was in a church of sorts (as kenny says). it was fun, but I just wanted to watch and experience michael and nothing else.

next time i see it i will go crazy. but last night it was almost vigil like. take in everything...

So NO mj doubles , it was just a romour right ?

NOOO!!! NO DOUBLES AT ALL!! It was all Mike. Oh my god. He was singing live 80% of the time, and he was mesmerizing. Like, he was putting a spell on you. He never does that many vocals in actual live performances because he dances in full force, but in the rehearsal it was all him. oh my god. His voice. You heard the whole spectrum of his voice, unbelievable. he sounded perfect.

Just got back home from watching "This Is It" and I'm itching to talk to people about it.

If you've seen it, what did you think?

The "Dome Project" videos they made were insanely cool. Especially liked the Smooth Criminal b&w movie thing.

Billie Jean was the personal highlight of the film for me. And Earth Song literally gave me goosebumps.

Hi Dave any chance we can get a screen grab of bogie Mj ionteraction at end of smooth!?!??!??!?!?? for my website?? jt

my guess is not yet... as taking photos in the theatres is VERY illegal haha. but we'll scour the net for anything we can find.

I have a question...

Do you see full song rehearsals and how many? Also....did anyone think 'omg, look at him, he's so thin...he's almost a skeletton?'

thank you.

Yes, there are full song rehearsals. Many of them. It's essentially a practice concert. You will hear lots of live singing, see lots of dancing, etc. You will get more live singing than you did in probably his last two world tours.

And no, I didn't think "damn, he's thin". Quite the opposite. Many times, I thought "He looks perfectly healthy". He's always been thin, but when he's moving about the stage, he looks like his old self.

In my review i made a remark about how the moment in the trailer where you see mj in a red jacket after or before he has watched thriller..He opens it up and closes it smiling..Now that moment is not in the film..Don't know why but i do know it showed mj's body in a clearer way and did show how thin he was...But not included in film..that all

I have a question...

Good question...on the contrary. I did personally think he looked thinner in the pictures that were released leading up to the film....HOWEVER, in the film, he looked TOTALLY normal and healthy. It was actually quite amazing how healthy and vibrant he looked. All this talk of the film hiding and covering up his "real physical state" is such B.S. Watch the film and judge for yourself. This man WAS ready to do this, he was going to SUCEED!!!

The opening song wanna be starting something seemed to be the only one he went full force on. I was just blown away at how he was moving and his energy. That to me was the highlight of the film. I kept waiting for the moonwalk during billie jean but it never came. Also Human Nature was amazing. I think that might of got the most cheers. Lots of "we love you michael" here and there from the audience. About half the people were wearing a sparkling glove.

I def thought wow he looks thin.... but the energy, the dancing, that man was in full force for 50. I couldnt BELIEVE how well he was dancing, Its like the dancers needed to keep up with HIM in the cadence and all.
omg
He was amazing
pure Genius

Earth Song gave me goosbumps as well he was so touching I also loved when he sang Speechless and the Thriller performance was excellent. Made me realise how much of an imaginatino Michael had some of the performances for the show were amazing no other artist would do that. Like when he teased out some of his songs and I was thinking in my mind how fans would scream at those moments.

Was he ever suppose to perform This Is It on the tour?

No, This is it the song was chosen to 'represent' the movie after his death. It has nothing to do with the concerts.
The This is it concerts were referring to 'we have 4 years to save the planet, this is it, this is the time to act NOW' and This is it probably meant also, like he also said, 'the last concerts, the final curtain call'

But it has nothing to do with the song.

I'm just back from seeing it and it was a good turn out for a day time show. I'm guessing around 50 people (good considering its an early weekday showing).

I felt a bit emotional at the very begining but as soon as Wanna Be Startin' Something kicked in I had the biggest grin on my face. Highlights for me were:

'Jam' I loved the instrumentals they did for this. It seemed to have a more bouncy riff than the cd version or previous tour versions.

I think it was at the end of Startin Something when Kenny says "hold for aplause, fade out" and MJ has this huge grin on his face.

Smooth Criminal, especially the chase where MJ is in all the old movies.

Background for TWYMMF with the dancer on the scafolding

The dance for the drill with the music to Mind is The Magic.

There is a decent amount of extra footage after the end credits. Oh and after This Is It is played a the end comes a live version of heal the world (audio only)

EDIT:

Just off the phone with my friend, shes picking me up in 30mins and I'm going to see it again!!

He looked like a wiry, middle-aged dancer in superb shape, having the time of his life. A lucky man who wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world. A performer in training who was getting stronger and stronger with each passing day.

With a lovely rural home awaiting him in England, and the kind of normal home life with his children he cherished, putting on a show like this every 3rd or so night.. it would not have felt like a tour so much as the greatest gig in the world.

Joy and eagerness were written all over him.

I've noticed that so many people are going to watch this film more than once because they enjoyed it so much. This film is going to make serious money at the box office.

I saw it last night at 11pm.. our theater had some fun with sponsors and had a guy in an MJ costume come out and had some pre-show trivia and handed out free t-shirts and posters. It was kind of cheesy but fun and made it feel like a special little event! My girlfriend managed to snag a free poster amongst the crowd for me. There was a decent number of people there, the whole top part of the theater was pretty much full.

I really loved the movie, it was great seeing him one last time like that. I was hoping to see more of him talking and directing, but there was still a decent amount of it so I was happy. In my opinion, his singing was spectacular and his moves were still incredibly tight. But there are obviously times where he's not giving 100% (of course, it's a rehearsal and he's intentionally holding back and going through the motions). I hope people understand this when they see it and don't discredit him because they were expecting a full effort production. I could understand when people say he wouldn't have wanted this released because it shows a very incomplete and imperfect state, but on the other hand I think he would still want us to have it, to have one more thing to hold on to. He worked so hard for it, and it shows.

My personal favorite parts would be him directing the keyboard on TWYMMF, and the whole IJCSLY bit. He looked so damn cool doing the drill bit rehearsal while chewing the gum. Effortless. And the slow motion crotch grab was epic!!

The final show would have been absolutely incredible. If only they had made it to the full dress rehearsals!! So close. I'm so happy we got to see this piece of it, and I truly love and miss him more for it. He will live forever in my heart!

BRING ON THE DVD WITH 19309 HOURS OF EXTRA FOOTAGE!! :)

Well, it is gonna make money with me everyday it's going to be on the big screen!
Going back tonght at 19h30, can't wait, that working day is long.. and I'm so tired from my midnight screening!

He looked perfectly healthy in the film, and I do NOT believe, as This Is NOT It claims that they have digitally made him bigger. That would take forever and is very difficult.

There are 24 pictures each scond - 24 x 60 x 60 x 111 = 9590400 pictures in this movie. They can not possible have edited him look bigger (healthier) as that group claims. It is utter bulls""t!

OMG!! IT WAS THE BEST THING I've EVER SEEN!!! It's crazi cuz i thought i'd be crying for most of the movie...but it was the damnedest thing, cuz I felt like I was There...with him...the like you said Sam, I thought about how he's not here with us...and cried...:boohoo

the funny Part was the audience...omg...they were clapping after every song...and i dont think there was a dry eye in the theater...

Thats all i can say about it...but I'm gonna be watching it 3 more times and I CANNOT WAIT!!!:wild:

See you and the gang on Saturday...i'm soooo excited!!!

Love,
Romi

girl... i cried in the opening when the dancers were speaking.
I'll be there really got me, MINT, and earth song. well, in the end Heal the world got me too.

can't wait to see it again with you saturday. oh, we are thinking about lunch before movie.

Wow. These shows were going to be spectacular. I teared up little bit in the beginning when the dancers were talking but I only shed few tears in the very end where it said "I love you" and "this movie is dedicated to Michael's children" This was the first time in my life I was in the movie theatre to the last second.

This movie proves that Michael was in good shape, he was absolutely ready to do the shows. Everything was fine and we shouldn't be watching this movie now..

But it was amazing to see, after all. Michael was so cute! All the comments he made and every little thing, just aww. :give_heart: I loved it and will definitely go to see it at least once again!

We love you Michael, so much! Rest in peace our hero..

ps. imo the best vocals Michael has ever done.

I ALMOST cried on the J5 meledy and I'm a man I just felt so sad after I was SO happy I was actually signing the Love You Save with Michael, and then it cuts to the sad I'll be there, and I had water in my eyes.... so sad.

I LOVE the HD background visuals that the concert would have provided.

...now I know Who Is It was playing in the background, but I can't recall did he perform any of it?

Just home from watching it. Ended up crying twice. Once when Jam began and Mj was singing it live I just lost it, and then when I seen how happy Michael looked during the J5 medley... The videos for Smooth Criminal and Thriller were brilliantly made!

By FAR the best scene was the one after the credits! So funny, it melts your heart :D
I LOVE you Michael; I can't wait to see you again tomorrow! :)

No, it was only in the background when the aerialists were rehearsing...

Oh ok I thought so I just didn't remember if he was signing a bit of it at the end.

Man those concerts would have been AMAZING... I was really sad after watching it thinking damn I'll never get to see him live, but I got to at least see the film so I'm content for now.

When Threatened came on I was SO EXCITED ....made me want more Invincible tracks done live...can you imagine Unbreakable live?? Or You Rock My World on a tour that he was actually happy with, not like the 30th Anniversary Celebration.
