I don't usually get involved in this kind of stuff, but I googled the thread and it came up and I found it quite funny when someone was comparing Shakira to MJ and said she was a lot more talented and had sold 50 Million albums, oh please go back and state as of 2006 MJ has sold 750 million, anyway. I'm going off my bitchy mode now. Shakira is very talented and I suppose it is important to respect the 'each to there own' saying. Would be boring if we all liked the same thing.

Look, the only reason why I came down on Shakira was because I got picked on for being a MJ fan. How childish. Almost all of you said something you don't like in this thread but I get attacked for it since my signature is of Michael. I've been on a few forums and alot of times, just praised Shakira but I still stand out because I love Michael.

You all have to remember that the media makes the good look bad and the bad look good. That's exactly how the Nazis came to power.

When did I say Shakira's death won't shake the world? It would. But compared to Michael, it would be much smaller. You can't deny that - he was the most famous person alive and the most powerful in music.

You do not need to educated me about Shakira. I've been a fan (though much less now) for a VERY long time and I know ALOT about her. She is a lovely person but I'm sorry, I do not like her latest work - and yes, I have her albums including She Wolf.

Also, what do you mean Michael "was the shit in his time?" . Hello. His last album sold 10-12 million and most likely more now and the 02 shows sold out and made world news like crazy. In 2006 the man got the record for the most successful entertainer in history.

I know Shakira has achieved much more than the average superstar and I do consider her as a legend for what she means to the hispanic audiences but seriously - don't compare her to Michael. Sales (since you mentioned Shakira's - btw, Michael has sold over 700 million) or talent.

You're always going to get people like that, especially on forums of other artists who all think that their artist is better than Michael. They're fans, they're going to think their artist is better. Trouble is Michael is at such another level to any other artist people will compare other artists to him as he is the ultimate. The only time I respond to haters is when they actually come into a Michael forum and spew all their crap.

See this is what I don't get and this is why we are different to other artists fans I wouldn't attack any other artist like Shakira , I don't follow here but I certainly wouldn't attack her like her fans and other artists fans attack Michael. It is kinda standard for that to happen to other artist forums. And as the same, I would respond to if they come to the MJ forums insulting Mike.
 
Funny, i was in work last week and that she-wolf song came on the radio, one of the older members of staff called Kay asked me did i know shakira wrote her own songs, i didn't know that was my reply, then Kay said that she would be better if she got a songwriter because her lyrics are crap.

You always get people like this. The worst is when you have Beatles and Elvis fans who get into the argument. I've noticed that it always comes down to album sales. No one should cite album sales unless they are talking about Elvis or the Beatles because Michael's record sales will always dwarf them, minus like digital single sales.

I've learned a lot about music and music sales in order to properly defend Michael when necessary.

How about the time when he searched the world to find lungs for a dying kid - then he did and saved his life? How about all the hospital visits? How about the time when he got the Disney cast from Paris to a hospital in London? How about his "Heal the world" foundation? How about his "heal the kids" foundation? How about "We are the world" charity song? How about the "What more can I give?" charity song? How about the benefical concerts he held? How about the side chartiy work he done but no one heard off? How about when he was donating to an orphanage in 2008/09 but was doing it secretly?

How about when he said, as a young person, to his mother, "Mother, I know I can't make it all better, but I'm gonna whatever I can".

HAVE YOU DONE MORE THAN MICHAEL? HAS SHAKIRA? This is like 5% of what he done overall!

How about his message of love? Through his music, actions and poetry? How about the inspiritation to help the planet in the This Is It movie?

Why don't you educate yourself and go and speak and search about MJ fans and see all the work and love they are spreading BECAUSE of Michael! What do you have to say about MJ fans visiting hospitals, giving to charity and paying money for trees to be planted because of Michael? How is that for you??

One of the many things I hate is when people bring OJ Simpson into it, yes, by that logic everyone found not guilty should be compared to him. :doh:

wtf? It's like they think there was loads of evidence against him in the first place when there clearly wasn't and it was rather all supporting MJ, hence the reason why he was found not guilty.

I've been in a debate with an Elvis fan before, this was before Michael's death.
He said:

I responded:
That may be, but Elvis has been dead a long time and so this causes a lot of hype for new material and boosts his sales. When he was alive how much had he sold ? nowhere near 1 billion, Michael has sold up to 750 million and he's still alive once he has passed and his unreleased material comes out he will overtake the Elvis' sales by a mile.

I then talked about how I respected Elvis and how I had no intention to diss him but he/she attacked me for no apparent reason on youtube.

and I do believe that he will overtake the Beetles and Elvis in a matter of time !!
 
Sales aren't everything, anyway.

If Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus was the best selling artist of all time, that wouldn't make her the best.

Thriller is a great album, but Dangerous and HIStory are often overlooked and deemed as "failures" because they didn't sell as well...although Dangerous is in the top 20 selling albums of all time I believe, so I'm not sure why it doesn't get much recognition.
