Next summer (2011) there will be 2 years since our idol, inspiration and role model died. We do not want any fans to be alone this day. We therefore invite you to join us, to remember our loved Michael Jackson.

First, we gather at the O2 arena, at 2pm. There will be many fans there. We can get together and remember Michael Jackson as the great man he was. Hanging up posters, poems, and what we would wish.

In the evening (7pm) we head off to The Lane Bar near Algate East tube station. Everyone will have the opportunity to buy a Michael Jackson-inspired dinner at the restaurant.

After dinner we go into the bar, where it will be half price for the drinks untill 10pm. Here is the age of 18. There will be an entrance fee of £ 5 at the door. This is due to the entertainment, etc.

The money that is left over will be given to charity. Wich charity the money will go to is your choice. You can choice between some of the charity that Michael used to give money too. There will be and election.

We will have contests and entertainment. (Possibly karaoke). We also have a DJ who will play Michael Jackson music all night. Depends on how many fans that will come.


Not all details are in place, but we have the bar, dj and the arrangement in place!

Here is what we have so far:

* Michael Jackson music all night

* Our own DJ

* Michael Jackson-menu in the restaurant

* Half-price drinks until a certain time

* Competitions

* Michael Jackson-impersonator (exactly who we can not say yet)

* Various entertainment

* Karaoke (if interested)

* Large screens with music videos


Venue for this event are:

City Hotel
Osborn Street
London E1 6th

Now you have plenty of time for you to book rooms, and buy cheap flights. That is why we have decided this so early, as many people as possible can emerge.
In time it will get even more information on who should dance, etc.


** And one more thing - regarding the booking of hotels are this cheap if it is done in groups. Something you can talk about when it is approaching. The most important thing is that you have the option of cheap flights.

There will also be gathering outside the o2 in the daytime, to cry and remember our Michael.

Damn :p four months before I turn 18. Do you think I'd be able to go and not drink? :p

Anyway, if I don't have anything planned I should definitely be able to go :)

Wow talk about planning ahead :D It's good though, like you said it gives enough notice for people coming overseas etc. Hope this gathering is a huge off-the-scale-MJ-L.O.V.E-fest :D
 
Yeah! And the thing is - we need at least a 100 people attending to be sure that we can keep planning this event. So please invite people on Facebook to this event! :)
 
This looks fantastic - so wish I could come! However I'm getting married on the 25th, and its a bit of a Michael themed wedding :)

I'm not on facebook, but me and my boyfriend have considered creating a pseudo account just to keep up with MJ events. Will let friends know about this by text though, then they can check it out :)
 
Still not sure what I'm doing that day as also been invited to the vigil at the o2 but will definitely be in London that day so will let you know.
 
Not even given it a thought yet to be honest...but sounds great. :)
 
It's been over 16 months now since that awful day :cry: I can't believe it!

I like the sound of this too, sorry i can't commit (i've got an interview for a new job next thursday and have no idea whether i'll get it and therefore be working that day) but put me down as a maybe! I'll let you know nearer the time :)
 
It's good to see that some of you are thinking about it. And I ask again, please put yourself as maybe/or attending in facebook, so we can keep count of people in there. We would really appreciate it if you did that!

What a lovely idea - I can see why you are starting to early - I went to an event last year and it took the organiser the best part of a year to organise everything! Good for you! Not sure what I am doing at this stage but I wish you luck with this!
 
Im coming:yes:but do you know if its a big pub and is there access adapted for wheelchairs?
