we're all happy it's down. we all thanked the fans. some of us may bitch about the learning experience that is always needed. and you're right. it is up to us to do what we want. but you're wrong in thinking that nobody in here is not happy that the sign was taken down. and you're wrong to think that there are people in here that didn't thank the fans' effort. so i don't know what you're talking about. nobody forgot to express gratitude. as you are proving, nobody in here doesn't have their bitching moments. you've expressed, here, and in many other threads, that you can post what you want, when you want. so please give everybody else that space. you also said, in other threads that fans shouldn't bitch about other fans. but that's what you're doing now.i was gunna leave this all alone, but between this and what you said in the party city thriller commercial thread, where you just keep giving us a tongue lashing, it got tired after awhile. You guys are saying its to late.... I just think its good they took that ish down. It may be a little late but the way i see it its better late then not at all. You can either be happy its down and over with or bitch about it for the next 3 months. its all up to you.

Restoration of pop singer Michael Jackson's name over a Los Angeles school auditorium is a "slap in the face" to children who've been subjected to pedophilia, said a spokesman for Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests.
The Los Angeles Unified School District's decision to uncover Jackson's name after it had been boarded over for seven years didn't take into account the "cultural perception" that Jackson had issues with kids, said Joelle Casteix, a SNA?P spokeswoman.
"It's grossly disappointing," Casteix said Monday. "Although he was never convicted there was a huge secret settlement with at least one alleged victim,'' she said, referring to a 1993 civil lawsuit alleging child abuse that ended with a closed-door payout.
"With all the brave and courageous people LAUSD could honor, it's a shame they chose to honor him again," she added.
District officials on Friday uncovered Jackson's name at Gardner Street Elementary School, saying the deceased entertainer had been acquitted of separate criminal charges alleging child abuse in 2005. Fans had petitioned the district to uncover Jackson's name.
School officials said they had no problem with the decision.
"No one is upset,'' said PTA President Marielena Armagnac. "All of the kids love his music."
Jackson briefly attended Gardner in 1969 as an 11-year-old on the brink of superstardom. He attended the auditorium's dedication in his name in 1989.

whatever... were these same people disappointed with the verdict too?. just some idiots wanting attention. They need to be mad at their priests not at MJ.
ok so umm, whose gonna grab the pitch forks...this bitch (sorry I know she's from an "abuse survivor group") needs a slap in HER face.
"there was a huge secret settelment"??? if you could see my face right now. If it was secret bitch why do you know about it????
Please, these are people that have obviously been through a lot. There is no need for hurling abuse.
Please, these are people that have obviously been through a lot. There is no need for hurling abuse. Lets just hope they have the intelligence and inspiration to see the truth one day. One thing I've learned is no matter what happens there will always be someone somewhere that will make a problem out of it. I think we should just be happy with the fact Michael's name was uncovered. They can't hurt him anymore.
Finally someone with good sense and not bitching around here.
All I see is "he's dead that, it wouldn't happen if he was alive this, BLAH BLAH BLAH"... C'mon, you people were complaining when it was covered. Now it's uncovered and you're still complaining?
Please, LET IT GO OF THE BITTERNESS. LOVE. LOVE.
PS.: And let those haters talk to their asses. And sorry for the words lol
PS again: plus, no one here (thankfully) been through what those people may have been. How can we judge what's going on in their minds and hearts? Let's hope they'll find out the truth one day. Until then, how can we judge and bad-mouth them? Of course WE know Michael's innocent - but can we really try to MAKE them think the same? Force down their heads and throats "Michael is innocent!!"? They know what the media told them... Then you got to consider what they been through... Walk a mile in their shoes. Love and pray for the truth to be out for everyone one day.
the definition of insanity and the phrase those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it, are still in vogue..otherwise, the reminders wouldn't be necessary. a lot of people have been through hell, but not everybody takes it out on other people. there's no excuse for taking it out on other people..there was no excuse for taking it out on Michael.
if someone murders, the answer is not to murder. if someone melests, the answer is not to molest. it would be nicer if more people woudl do what Michael did, and use a positive talent to get out what was done to them.
The problem is: I agree with you, but how can we expect people to react like we wish they would? Really. Some do not take it out on other people, some sadly do. As I said, I just hope and pray that someday people will realize the truth and that's it. The name is uncovered, that's my point.
I try to see both sides - and if they can't cope with their abuse, hell, I hope they'll get over it someday and live in peace, I can imagine how hard it must have been. And as I said, sadly some people don't know what to do in certain cases, what to think, how to open their eyes to the truth and live with it. Kinda like some people who are so biased by their love for their hero (be it MJ or whoever) that they can't see certain things and will only see things through the perspective of their biased love. It happens.
But the name is uncovered now. The fans did it. And as long as I know the truth, I'll keep loving and praying that the truth will be out for everyone one of these days.
PS.: I believe you got my "haters" line wrong. It wasn't directed at the abuse group and it was more of a joke in the sense of "relax, people" than serious.
Statement to the school board from award winning journalist for truth in journalism...
From Charles Thomson
The US constitution dictates that every American citizen has the right to a fair trial and that until proven guilty, every citizen is presumed innocent. This is a fundamental principle of American life and forms the very basis of the US legal system.
Michael Jackson was a US citizen, no different from any other. He had the same rights as any other citizen and when he was exonerated by a jury, he should have walked out of the courtroom with no stain on his character, just like any other US citizen.
But Michael Jackson wasn't treated like any other citizen - not before his trial, not during his trial and not after his trial.
The prosecution of Michael Jackson was one of the most frivolous wastes of taxpayer money and one of the most horrendous abuses of power in the history of California. In pursuing Jackson, Californian police officers breached the terms of their own search warrants, stole defense documents, conducted illegal raids, leaked sealed documents to the media, verbally abused Jackson in television interviews and were caught trying to plant fingerprint evidence during grand jury hearings. This was the dictionary definition of a malicious prosecution.
After Jackson was acquitted on the basis that the prosecution had no evidence and no compelling witnesses, that should have been the end of the matter. But a combination of manipulative propaganda released by the prosecution and shoddy reporting at the hands of the media meant that Jackson wasn't able to walk out of the Santa Maria courthouse with no stain on his character. He was denied this fundamental right. The continued censorship of Michael Jackson's name on the Gardner Street Auditorium is a continuation of this injustice.
Throughout this campaign, staff at Gardner Street School will have heard much about Jackson's charity work and his humanitarian efforts - but in a way, that is all irrelevant. It reads almost as a list of redeeming qualities, but this issue does not call for redeeming qualities. This issue is very simple. Michael Jackson was a US citizen, entitled to the same rights as any and every other US citizen. He was never proven guilty, ergo he was innocent. To continue covering Jackson's name on the Gardner Street Auditorium even after his acquittal is to strongly imply that he was a guilty man. This is unfair, unconstitutional and un-American.
Gardner Street School should decide to once again display Michael Jackson's name on its auditorium not on the basis of a petition or a list of humanitarian achievements - but simply because it is the right thing to do. The continued censorship of Jackson's name on the auditorium is a blow against everything that America is supposed to stand for, and a gesture of support for malicious prosecution, abuse of power and the erosion of civil liberties.
In brief, to uncover Jackson's name would be a gesture of support for everything the American justice system stands for. To continue censoring Jackson's name would be a gesture of support for everything which is wrong with the American justice system.
It is up to the staff of Gardner Street School to decide which of these values they wish to instil in their students.
