Sony And Estate Talk Here

lol are you kidding me,
You call that a source ?
thats just someone else who wrote in a King of Pop fanclub news page.
a source is called a newspaper that actuilly have news on their page.

what source???? this source is fake!!! where is the statement from sony?????!!!! theres no statement because its fake, i could write here that Sony just emailed me saying the song its fake, and everybody would belive it... this is ridiculous...fake allegations and informations.

Re: Sony will continue with this because the only people who care are the hardcore fans.

Some media are reporting about it. I saw an article yesterday on bbc.uk. Of course it's like fuel for all the tabloid sites like tmz. On our mainstream radio one dj, who I do respect cause over the years he treated Michael with respect and shown great knowledge regarding his career, so he said today he heard the BN song. He said on air there's huge controversy among the fans, who're claiming song aint real. In his opinion, it's real Michael's voice on it. Moreover, in his opinion this song is incredible well produced and should be a big radio hit.
*someone please, wake me up, when all this mess will end...*

Was there any official statement from $ony?

Re: Sony will continue with this because the only people who care are the hardcore fans.

TMZ polled over 130,000 people and the result: 79% believe it's him

I'll believe it when I see an official statement on one of the official sites.

It started with a fake song.....

Re: Sony will continue with this because the only people who care are the hardcore fans.

...

Brainwashed masses. The public is too easy to fool, especially with respect to anything Michael.

And Sony is a large-scale agency full of heartless robots, like most large-scale agencies are. I think I'd go as far as put it in line with the likes of the CIA. No matter what they're now trying to recant, as those behind that horrific Opis None, the mind control has already been done.

I think many parts of that accapella sounds like MJ, but an MJ saving his voice.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

Why don't you try it czechstar.

They laugh their heads off at you!

It's no wonder most of the world thinks 90% of MJ fans are mad!

Deano, I understand that you want to support Michael and disagree with the majority of other fans in think the vocals on the song Breaking News are genuine.

But what is the point of attacking each and every post where fans are critical/trying to protect their idols' legacy?

In one post you claim that fans are mad, in the next that we all think Sony is out to somehow get us. Sure, some may think those things, but the vast majority don't.

We can just hear with our own ears that this is not Michael when all the other leaked tracks are him for sure.

If you don't agree, fine. Enjoy this time. Why argue?

But for those of us - 80% of fans here who think it's not or are not sure it's Michael, Katherine Jackson, Paris Jackson, Prince Jackson, 3T, Darkchild, Latoya, most of the media, EVERYONE I've spoken to etc etc etc - who don't think it's real - this list is gonna grow and grow and RUIN the albums chances.

They just need to remove the Cascio tracks, that's all. Then we will all be happy...

Well said! :)

I like those snippets!! Thank you for uploading them and also thanks to Akon for giving us something REAL and NEW-- I'm looking forward to buy that CD again, you guys gave me my hopes back!!

How can the mods allow thread after thread to be started based on the same lies? Why is no one merging these threads or deleting them all together?

This thread starts with a lie as it's title and nothing gets done about it?

What is happening to this forum?

Jeez!

The thread title is a hoax. Sony Music has NOT made such a statement.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

With respect to the TOPIC of this thread (which to my knowledge was not one about JESUS?), I think the legality/illegality of the song, and further releases -- IF it is proven to be at least partially not Michael's voice. . depends on how it was advertised/presented to the public. Michael has sung duets in the past, and those were always advertised as such.

Fraud would exist, IF:

1. It could be proven that other voices were used on a recording as if they were Michael's voice.

2. If the recording was advertised as being MICHAEL JACKSON, when it was not, all or in part.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

Deano, give it up!

Your comments have nothing to do with this thread or the topic in general. They are deliberately provocative.

And for the record, I am not your friend. Don't patronise me, please.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

Even if you were right and it's not MJ singing (what I'm pretty sure you are not), you would have no chance against Sony ;-) They have enough money and power to chew you up and spit you out again....

MILLI VANILLI (from Wikipedia)

The first sign that the group was lip-synching happened in late 1989 during a live performance on MTV at the Lake Compounce theme park in Bristol, Connecticut. As they performed onstage live in front of an audience, the recording of the song "Girl You Know It's True" jammed and began to skip, repeating the partial line "Girl, you know it's…" over and over on the speakers. They continued to pretend to sing and dance onstage for a few more moments, then they both ran offstage. According to the episode of VH1's Behind the Music which profiled Milli Vanilli, Downtown Julie Brown stated that fans attending the concert didn't seem to care or even notice and the concert continued as if nothing unusual had happened.
Unlike the international release of All or Nothing, the inserts for the American version clearly attributed the voices on the album to Morvan and Pilatus. This prompted Shaw to disclose to New York Newsday writer John Leland in December 1989 that he was one of three singers on Milli Vanilli's hit debut album, and that Pilatus and Morvan were impostors. Farian reportedly paid Shaw $150,000 to retract his statements, though this did not stem the tide of public criticism.[3] Because of rising public questions regarding the source of who actually sang in the group, as well as the insistence of Morvan and Pilatus to Farian that they be allowed to sing on the next album, Farian confessed to reporters on November 12, 1990, that Morvan and Pilatus did not actually sing on the records. As a result of American media pressure, Milli Vanilli's Grammy was withdrawn four days later (however, their three American Music Awards were never withdrawn because the organizers felt the awards were given to them by music consumers),[4] and Arista Records dropped the act from its roster and deleted their album and its masters from their catalog, taking Girl You Know It's True out of print.
After these details emerged, at least 26 different lawsuits[5] were filed under various U.S. consumer fraud protection laws[6] against Pilatus, Morvan and Arista Records. One such filing occurred on November 22, 1990 in Ohio, where lawyers there filed a class action lawsuit asking for refunds on behalf of a local woman in Cuyahoga CountyGirl You Know It's True; at the time the lawsuit was filed, it was estimated at least 1,000 Ohio residents had bought the album.[6] On August 12, 1991, a proposed settlement to a refund lawsuit in Chicago, Illinois was rejected. This settlement would have refunded buyers of Milli Vanilli CDs, cassettes, records, or singles. However, the refunds would only be given as a credit for a future Arista release.[5] On August 28, a new settlement was approved; it refunded those who attended concerts along with those who bought Milli Vanilli recordings[7]. An estimated 10 million buyers were eligible to claim a refund and they could keep the refunded recordings as well[7]. The deadline to claim refunds passed on March 8, 1992.[8] who had bought
[edit] The Real Milli Vanilli and album The Moment of Truth

The material for Milli Vanilli's second album had been recorded and finalized in Spring 1990. In the autumn, the first single "Keep on Running" was released for radio play, shortly before Farian revealed the truth about Milli Vanilli. At the last minute, Farian had the artwork to the second Milli Vanilli album changed to depict the actual singers instead of Morvan and Pilatus, changed the album's title from Keep on Running (the name had been meant to correspond with the first single), and changed the artist name to The Real Milli Vanilli. However, the graphic artist who performed the change forgot to update the album cover's spine, so the second album still had the original artist and album name on the spine ("Milli Vanilli — Keep On Running").
The resulting album, released in Europe in early 1991, was renamed The Moment of Truth and spawned three singles, "Keep On Running," "Nice 'n Easy" and "Too Late (True Love)." A Morvan/Pilatus lookalike named Ray Horton was depicted on the cover and provided vocals on four tracks. In addition, the album featured rappers Icy Bro on "Hard As Hell" and Tammy T on "Too Late (True Love)." A Diane Warren-penned song, "When I Die," has been covered by several other artists, including Farian's No Mercy. For the American market, Farian chose to avoid any association to Milli Vanilli and had the tracks re-recorded with Ray Horton on the majority of lead vocals.
[edit] Try 'N' B

In 1992, RCA signed on to release the album as the debut of the newly created group Try 'N' B. The self-titled release included three additional tracks not on The Real Milli Vanilli release: "Ding Dong," "Who Do You Love," and a remake of Dr. Hook's "Sexy Eyes." Because of significantly better sales under the name Try 'N' B in America, a slightly modified Try 'N' B debut album was released internationally.

BLACK BOX (from Wikipedia)

History

In 1989, the trio teamed up with model Catherine Quinol (a.k.a. Katrin) and formed Black Box. By early 1990, Martha Wash was engaged to perform vocals on a number of tracks which, Ms. Wash was apparently told, were for club consumption and were not for mass-release. One would be "Everybody Everybody" which would become one of their two top-ten hits in North America. The album Dreamland was released.
The first single "Ride on Time" was an international hit, making Top 10 in many countries and No. 1 in the UK, soon becoming the UK's best-selling single of 1989. The song heavily sampled "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway, a 1980 disco hit. The Black Box title is derived from a misunderstanding of the lyrics "Cause you're right on time".[2]
Dan Hartman, writer and producer of "Love Sensation", was not sought for permission to sample his song, and soon after the international success of "Ride on Time," questions arose as to the true vocalist on the song. Legal proceedings ruled that Loleatta Holloway was the actual singer on "Ride on Time" (albeit by means of the "Love Sensation" vocal samples) and Black Box surrendered a large percentage of the royalties from the song to Hartman and Holloway. The song eventually did make it onto the Dreamland album when it was released later in 1990 as well as the Hits and Mixes compilation, and numerous other compilations. A new version of the track with vocals by Heather Small appeared solely as a single. Subsequent releases, as well as the album tracks, also featured a then-uncredited Martha Wash as vocalist. Quinol lip-synched the vocals in "live" performances and in music videos. Martha Wash sued Black Box, RCA and then C+C Music Factory for performing vocals on their respective songs and not receiving due credit. These legal actions led to the legal recognition of vocalists who perform songs for other artists, including samplings. Wash received full vocal credit upon the single release of "Strike It Up", but the music video still featured Quinol lip synching the lyrics.
A megamix featuring cuts already released and entitled "The Total Mix" performed well in the charts towards the end of 1990. Various minor hits followed in the UK throughout the decade. In America, they are best remembered for their early '90s singles "Everybody Everybody", "I Don't Know Anybody Else", and "Strike It Up", their biggest hit in the United States, where all three of their hits are still heard on rhythmic radio and in clubs on a fairly regular basis to this day.
Black Box remain one of the few piano-house groups to achieve mainstream success in the USA. Dreamland earned a gold disc in both the UK and the US and achieved double-platinum status in Australia where it spent eight weeks at #1 during early 1991. Along the way, it also spawned six massive hit singles, both on the mainstream charts and in the clubs.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

the Casio guy is the one that tried to fraud everybody, not sony. they just couldn't make the differ between the real Michael and the fake vocals.
Lame, stupid, but that how it is. Shit happens. I mean Sony is just a record company, not thing more. They can't have the knowlegde, the instincts we have about Michael.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

It's not true at all that Sony can't or won't get sued if they release material that they claim is Michael Jackson, but in fact it is not.

They know this, which is why we can celebrate that the Cascio tracks WILL NOT BE ON THE ALBUM :D

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

It's only a matter of time before this sinks into the general public. You can't market fake vocals and claim its Michael Jackson.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

Whoever has ripped who off is not important here.

They CAN put this right and it's clear they have no choice but to get it right.

What will be fascinating is if they can turn this into good publicity or not... "the fans know Michael best, they might be right", "we have been duped, it's a fair cop", "MJ is better than this, we should have known" or even "ha! you've been punk'd"

This will, undoubtedly go down as one of the weirder moments in music history....

Whoever is *actually* singing on the album WILL HAVE to be credited or they are breaking the law. Doubt sure the same rules apply when no one has actually *bought* Breaking News... it's a really f*&&^^ up strategy but at least everyone is talking about it.

The spoken intro of Breaking News *could* also give us a clue if this was (and I doubt) a marketing strategy.

I say "bring it on, Sony!" :)

Thanks for the fact you disagree and are respectful. It's appreciated and refreshing.

Re: Official and legal challenges to this apparent fraud

It's unfortunate that all this has coincided with oprah's interview, a quick google and you will see that the media are not taking any notice and indeed do not seem to give two hoots about whether the vocals on breaking news are real or not.
