Okay Australia is really picking up steam guys.

Michael (album) - 25#

Hold My Hand - 28#

Pretty good, especially for the album, thats actually really great. To think so many people would buy the album and not even get the songs yet is quite good.

^ Remember that even Kanye West's album never hit the Top 10 until 1-2 days before release date. (And it's expected to sell 500,0000 or more this week in the US). Most albums don't go into the top 10 on pre-sales.

Personally, I'd say wait until Dec 6th-14th. This week period will see lots of promotion and you will see the best chart performance of HMH and MICHAEL. My opinion is this: MICHAEL will go #1 on i-tunes charts all around the world on Dec 13th and 14th.

smooth, can you tell us if Sony is planning anything for 2011 as we speak? Or are they still focusing on the album release?

^First quarter 2011 is focused on the album MICHAEL with additional single releases. Based on the albums success, a re-release with 4-5 new songs is possible for the second quarter or a new album which could hit in the 4th quarter. The decision has not been made for this so I can't give exact plans.

First quarter will also host the launch of The Experience for PS3 and X Box 360 which should be big.

Also in the 4th quarter the Cirque shows begin so attention will shift towards this. Right now it's being decided as to whether they want to release the CD soundtrack for the touring show or the permanent Vegas show. It's possible this soundtrack album could be available as early as next October.

2012 will be focused on Bad 25th anniversary which will contain re-mixes of 5 songs with modern artists. (similar to Thriller 25) with a new booklet and a single release along with another unheard song from the Bad era. A BAD concert release on DVD is planned, right now I'm told it will be MJ Live At Wembley Stadium.

Interesting info.

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the fantastic updates regarding HMH's position on the charts!

Cannot wait for the video.

I just love this single ... and the artwork with the holding of hands in an M is perfect

Michael's beautiful new single has had 3,052,565 views on YouTube ... and the comments there are mostly LOVING it like I do.

When Akon sings ... "I can see you're tired of being lonely" ... Michael answers ... "yeah"

Michael says/sings it in the most heart-breaking manner.

But I tell you I have it on repeat & not getting tired of it at all.

This is something that I can not fully comprehend. We've been waiting for a new album for like 10 years now. The usual period between two Michael Jackson albums used to be around 4-5 years. And now we might be getting a new album after less than one year?
This whole picture is wrong, even though I am eager to hear all these new songs. It's a very weird feeling for me. I'm not even sure I will have worked through all these things so fast...

Akon also assists another chart legend this week, aiding Michael Jackson on the King of Pop's 48th Hot 100 hit, "Hold My Hand," which debuts at No. 84. Akon also appeared on Jackson's last charting effort, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008," which peaked at No. 81 in February of that year. Jackson's new track sold 19,000 in less than three days of availability as it reached digital retailers on Friday, Nov. 19.

Michael Jackson's video shoot for single 'Hold My Hand' may have been sabotaged with email
Gatecrasher

Wednesday, November 24th 2010, 4:00 AM

Allegri/GettyMichael Jackson's posthumous single 'Hold My Hand' got another dose of drama - via email.

A spy at Monday's video shoot for "Hold My Hand," the Michael Jackson/Akon single from the highly anticipated "Michael" album, was almost derailed by a seemingly official email telling participants that the production had been postponed.

Shortly before cameras rolled at a former Marine Corps blimp hangar in Tustin, Calif., the source says a seemingly "legitimate" email, purportedly from the "Michael Jackson Estate," was received by participants informing them that due "to recent weather forcasts" (sic), the shoot had been "postponed" until tomorrow.

The spy says the notice was quickly followed by two more emails instructing recipients to disregard the schedule change.

What's not clear is whether the first email was an innocent mixup or, as our spy suspects, a deliberate attempt to hamper the video shoot, which was directed by Mark Pellington of "U2 3D" fame.

"Michael," to be released Dec. 14, was controversial even before it had a name. Members of the late singer's family and even the co-executor of his estate, John McClain, have reportedly challenged the authenticity of the Jackson vocals, prompting Sony to bring in forensic experts, who concluded they're real.

Although a Sony spokeswoman did not respond to questions by deadline, a Jackson camp insider tells us, "We've had a lot of fake documents shooting around."

According to our spy at the shoot, approximately 200 fans "danced freestyle" to "Hold My Hand" for the cameras. They also released white balloons en masse and shouted, "We love you, Michael!"

The spy adds that "a little girl dressed like an angel" was present, which jibes with reports that extras were asked to walk through the darkened hangar toward a bright light — symbolic of Jackson's ascent to heaven.

We hear the "Hold My Hand" video will premiere Dec. 6 on ABC, the same day Oprah Winfrey is to interview Jackson's friend and producer Teddy Riley, who has been outspoken about the controversy behind "Michael."

Aww, there's no big ads for MICHAEL on Finnish iTunes.

Hold My Hand #29.

For me it's:

Hold My Hand
Akon
duet with Michael Jackson

Michael did not putting finishing touches on that song only Akon so this is his song and only his.
Remember Dangerous demo and Dangerous final release...
This is song with Michael's vocal and nothing more.

I have bought hold my hand 14 times since it debuted on US Itunes.I dont know if I should stop buying it and wait till the Dec 6 release date when the video debuts to push the sales,I really want MJ to have a top 10 hit and I dont know what to do next.Confused

Well, I'm pleased to say that Radio 2 seems to be increasing its play of this song. I've heard it everyday this week :)
