New OFFICIAL MJ single - Hold My Hand (update pg.1)

Yes I want to know that too.. Can someone please explain how that works? When will HMH chart at US Hot 100? That is the main chart or not anymore?

The Hot 100 chart is based mostly on both airplay and digital sales (and a very small percentage of physical CD sales and online streaming). So, basically the more sales and airplay a song has, the higher it goes on the Hot 100.

HMH will debut on the Hot 100 this week (the chart comes out on Thursday). Don't expect too high debut though -- sales and airplay are still not too big, but it will be a decent debut and hopefully it will keep climbing.

The Digital Singles iTunes chart and the Billboard Hot 100 are two different charts.

Hope that helps.

Sooo, am I the only one that heard Michael sing something interesting at 1.18?

Akon: 'The nights are getting darker'
Michael: 'F****ck' :scratch::lol:

What has been heard cannot be unheard, LOL.

MICHAEL is currently #63 on Canadian i-tunes with NO advertisement for the album

Number Ones is at #117 on the same chart

HMH is at #30 with no advertisements at all

On the front page of the Canadian iTunes, there is a small ad.

HMH is n°45 on Itunes France and "Michael" is n° 75. (with a little advertisement on the front page)

EDIT : "The Essential" is n° 29 and the boxset "Vision" is n°39 :) Thriller is n° 159

Things are building........I wish this effort all the success. Despite the drama and back and forth, its Michael Jackson's name that will be held up as a winner or failure.

Support, support!

^ I'm on Canadian i-tunes and there are no advertisements for the new album or single.

I'm on Canadian iTunes too and this is what I am looking at :)

I see the same screen on Itunes France but it always moves and from time to time we can see an advertisement for Michael and Vision but not for HMH.

when you wait doesn't that screen change? this is what I see in US. The above big banner changes between several things, you can see michael and hold my hand single in the music section and they are always there.

Is this US? I don't see it on Canadian iTunes either. Only small ad at the bottom of the screen.

Are these numbers we are seeing really good? I feel like we are getting our hopes up and be disappointed. I think it should be getting more radio airplay. I have heard Rihanna's, Pink etc new songs so many times in one day.

I guess I don't know what is considered good especially in today's world. Compared to other artists when a single comes out and how it does. With Michael I think top 10 and maybe I am expecting to much and not being realistic.

Just a quick update on sales projections from Sony on HMH and the album:

-HMH is perfoming "in-line" with expectations. Sony is expecting a Top 10 hit in UK, and US (both week of Dec 6th), a Top 20 hit in France, Canada, Australia, and a few other nations. The single is expected to peak during the week of Dec 6th and fall from there.

-As I've stated before, the video HMH is mostly complete. Filming is done, it's in the editing stage right now. It will debut on Oprah Mon Dec 6th as well as on MJ.com , as well as given to several US news organizations for press. This is the final promotional tool for HMH.

-MICHAEL pre-sales are right on track and are moving moderately off e-shelves. Sony has started with the i-tunes adverts and will continue on and off with these. The week of Dec 6th will see heavy promotion for the MICHAEL album including press from the Oprah show. Promotions have started around the world already in the form of posters, street advertisements, billboards, and television ads will really go into high gear starting Dec 5th and 6th. Right now, Sony's US estimates for MICHAEL are for 340,000 physical copies and 60,000 digital copies for a total of 400,000 for first week. With the Oprah effect, some sources at Sony think the album could even hit the 420,000-430,000 range.

-(Con't from above) UK first week sales are expected to be high, around 140,000 while Canadian sales will be in the 50,000 range. Australian first week sales should be near 40,000. Japan has very high potential with first week sales of 140,000 to 170,000. (THIS IS IT has strengthened the MJ appeal in Japan dramatically) First week sales are expected to be near 1,000,000 globally.

-Second single should be out by New Years or just a bit after and from what I'm told will be either Another Day or Monster. Sony thinks Monster is more radio friendly out of the two.

More soon...
