So it looks like Austin was at Wango Tango a few minutes ago? On Wikipedia it says that he's performing at the same venue as Kesha, JLO, Selena Gomez, T. Pain, Far East Movement, Lupe Fiasco, New Boyz, Pitbull, etc.

His team on Twitter seems to be really excited!

Here's the premiere they're talking about -

(Sorry if this has already been posted. I haven't been current with any Jackson-Fam related news for a while now. I just happened to come across this on Twitter today and didn't see a thread here talking about it.)

Thanks for the info... I like the teaser and I wish Auggie the most success..

Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Surprised no ones posted this yet. Can't wait for the album!

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

The part around 1:07 is very Captain EO/Rhythm Nation esque. Austin is very talented, But I think for true success he should really try to distance himself from the Jackson's and be himself otherwise he's just another Jackson trying to make it.
I hope he makes it big, he deserves it! Go Auggie!!

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Yea I agree with Raz but its goona be VERY hard to distance himself from them.. That always gonna be synonmous with his name. I think he is talented and I wish him the best though.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

I liked it! I think is impossible to distance, but he can be intelligent and make the best of it :D

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

He'll never be able to distance himself, the comparison will always be there, but I don't think he's any different from the rest of his generation that is influenced by his family, so why should he be any different? Those are his roots, as long as hes keeping it fresh I see no problem. Plus the songs are fucking banging.

He said that an EP was coming out in August which means the albums gonna take even longer! I already been waiting like eight months! Soo much anticipation >_

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

If you take aside the MJ connection, He's pretty much heading in the same league as Usher and other countless artists that have been inspired by MJ.
But at least he's not sitting around and waiting for Katherine to take money from the Estate and transfer it into his bank account.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

He's gonna remain a struggling musician forever, if he doesn't stop jacking swag of other people. There are a dozen MJ wanna be's out there already, I don't think the world is waiting for yet another one. He needs to use that talent he's got to do something of his own, not straight up copy his dead uncle.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

He has talent, but I'm seeing way... too much MJ in the video: You Rock My World, Smooth Criminal, etc.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Seriously? YMWW? Smooth criminal? Where? Are you seeing some gangsters that I can't see? lol If you said the drill then I'd say ok, he even has one of the TII dancers. Not everyones always gonna happy, so you know.

I mean he even addresses it in a video. Anyway, I just see this as a taster, if I didn't see the video and only heard snips of the songs I would still be excited for this album.

lol. I did notice the swagger jacking.... circa Captain EO & They Don't Care About Us (2009)

I am on the fence about Auggie...I used to think he might be the most talented of his generation...but now I am not so sure.

His voice is average at best...and the dancing is not as fluid as I was expecting.

But good for him for getting out there and taking chances... (hint Jermaine)

Sadly, I cannot support his projects because his mama is cozying up to that MF Stacy Brown, and I just don't want to support any of the Jacksons' fuckeries. Call it Jackson fatigue...

Oh well...

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

um for now, he seemed to be the most talented from his generation.
I saw so many MJ in these teaser.
They don't care about us, the way you make me feel, etc
Hope he can find his way to make this work.
I really hope someone besides Janet can be out off the shadow of Michael.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

wow he is his uncle nephew i see he learn a lot from MJ proud of him hope he is except well by others

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

His earlier songs that he leaked onto the internet a few years ago, had much better vocals. I'm disappointed vocally in this song, but he just has so much charm and charisma that I don't mind, haha! I think once he gets his career going, he'll find his own style.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Sorry but, that trailer was Michael Jackson all over! The solider dancing, the glowing eyes & similar voice style.

But, I liked it and I might get the kids album?! I think he will do well!? But, he is reminding me no different then Usher or Chris Brown at the moment who all are wannabe MJs!

Auggie definitely beats his cuz Genevieve though, who in my opinion needs a lot of work vocally and performance wise. But, it's nice to see The Jacksons continue on in music. Keep that musical legacy of the fam alive by doing ur own thing or at least try!

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Absolutely love the trailer and the music. I need his album like now. I think Austin is so talented and creative, the music in the clips beats every song on the radio right now. My sister converted the videp so his trailer is on repeat on my ipod. His voice, and harmonies are sick he is a superstar in the making. MJ is so proud of him :)

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

That video made me cringe. Blatant and shameless rip-off of TDCAU TII performance, the giant close-up of the eyes, the opening close-up of his feet walking. He's one step away from wearing a single white glove and doing a "Hee-hee."

You can't sing about not wanting to "walk in the shadows" and then do a video like that...

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

I think he has the potential to be the breakout for this Jackson generation, but he's going to have to keep working with every producer and writer he can to strike gold. Janet finally hooked up with the right team and exploded on the music scene. Austin is generic to me right now, nothing particularly distinctive about him, but his lineage. I hope he keeps at it, and with a combination of persistence, passion and LUCK, he might really make it big.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

Nice, i enjoyed it. He is oviosuly inspired by his Uncle Michael and Aunty Janet but for his first project he did very well, there is so much potential here.

Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, but his family seems to be a bottomless well of musical talent. The latest evidence of this? His nephew, Austin Brown, who recently premiered a music video and trailer for his upcoming debut album, 85.

The video and Brown‘s performance definitely echo the oeuvre of the King of Pop. “Austin plays himself in the video,” says director Tom Desanto (creator and producer of Transformers and the X-Men films). “The key was trying to put the audience in Austin’s shoes and to try to feel the pressure and potential of his family’s legacy. The Jacksons are entertainment royalty and the tremendous pressure of his family’s name would take down most people.”

But the video makes use of pressures from the industry. “Tom not only listened to my music, but understood my path, where I came from, the struggles I had, the battles I fought –- getting swallowed up and spit out by a business that I loved so much,” Brown says. “He put that all into [the visuals].”

The result is a cinematic video that melds a variety of genres, taking Brown from an amorphous dream world into a throwback dance scene and an animated realm.

“I have always been a fan of Walt Disney, Stan Lee and Steven Spielberg, and my uncle. They understood the art of fantasy, while incorporating a meaningful message within their films,” Brown says. “Having those elements to tell my story was important for me because I wanted the audience to escape while watching this video, but at the end, know who I am.”

I'm kinda disappointed.. I think I expected more individuality. I know he would find it hard to distance himself but that was just too MJ. I didn't even watch to the end. I wish him all the best though, of all the Jacksons he is the one I would love to make it big.

EDIT: Just wanted to add that he is impressive, and there's real potential to his act. If he keeps working and is dedicated, I think he will do well. :)

Excuse me, but YES, I said You Rock My World and Smooth Criminal..for the record: Smooth Criminal has more than just ganstas..some of the dances!

Just so you know, not everyone is going to agree or like Austin, and some people need to deal with it. Your comment came off snippy. You have your opinion and I have mine, and that's fine. My point remains the same, and has been said before, nothing new. :)

I saw alot of MJ too, i think he did the similar moonwalker intro and the TDCAU styled dance to get it out of the way, like he knows people are going to make comparisons to Michael so he did it first. I'm glad he's proud of where he came from and he paid homage. I'm interested to see where he goes from her artistically. The teaser is nice and i like the snippets of songs i heard but he needs to show people he isn't only a dancer or a singer but he's a musician.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

I was wondering what happened to this album, he is so hamdsome. Was not too impress with the song ang vocals, i think there was not enough singing. He is an image of uncle Mike, eventual he will get better.

Re: Austin Brown 85 Trailer

I honestly am quite fed up with all these... impersonations of Michael left and right. Yes, he was fascinating, and Auggie is his nephew, but still.. I don't know.. ..
