Whoa - I'm still havin a psychedelic head rush.

Can I point out that the majority of members disagree with the tone of the letter and that I for one don't feel that as such it should have been sent.

Also we discuss many controversial subjects on this board.

And respectfully can I ask if this was directed at us
.Michael was BLESSED and he lived and loved perfectly the way he did, UNCONDITIONALLY..You have to chose are you A Michael Fan or a Jackson Family HATER ? You cannot be both !! For LOVE cannot exist in the same place as HATE !!

Personally its a shame it got to a stage where a letter had to be written.that isnt the fans fault. Ppl get judged on their actions.and those who dont agree should maybe think as to why it was written in the first place.

Maybe some dont agree with the tone but agree interms of what the family have done these last two years i dunno. But there comes a time when some felt enough was enough and a stern letter had to written.i dont blame ppl for that infact i support it as i for one are sick of seeing mjs kids used.and sick of the family crapping on mjs name.yes it prob wont do any good. But to me its about the family knowing we see what they are doing

I know your heart is in the right place, but I feel boarder line insulted by this quote:

Pray to yourself because I now exactly what I have been saying and I don't take back a thing I have written on this forum. Nor, do you have the right to pray over fans because they said something they don't like. Also, putting Michael, Katherine, or any other human and the same breath of forgiveness of God is something I can never tolerated for anyone. Michael and the Jacksons are not gods and I am not going to beg for their forgiveness. The only ones who should be asking forgiveness is that family. Forgiveness for putting their own greed, self-worth, and selfish desires before their own love one. We are not the ones who called him an addict for money, called his nose a tooth-pick in front a person who may think he did horrible things to children, bind them into contracts, and character assassinate the people their loved one worth with because of money and power.

As for this question, "Ask yourself this question would you talk like this to Michael's family if he was right in front of you ?? Do you think Michael would feel uncomfortable that HIS FANS have some how GRANTED themselves the right to tell HIS FAMILY what to do and not to do or what they think they should do ?? "

For the first question, yes I would. I would gladly tell them to their faces everything I have written and maybe more if the mood strikes me. Would Michael care, I really could careless at this point. Michael is dead, there is nothing anyone can do about that now. The only direct ties that are left in this world are his children and do you think his children would want to hear half the crap his family said about him? About him being an addict and everyone in that family are better parents then he ever could be, and how Michael allowed people to control him and indirectly put his kids in danger? As for Michael 'granting' me the right to be part of his family, get over yourself. I never once consider Michael my family. He was someone admire from a distance, but I am not arrogant enough to think I was part of Michael's world or that he knew me from the other millions of fans who buy his albums. I, however, cannot stand injustice, especially to someone who was as kind and caring as Michael. Someone who was trampled on all his life, now I have to watched his family trampled him in death in the name of the mighty dollar.

We judged based on actions and you have to be either be a liar or a hypocrite to tell me you don't. I asked this question before and I want everyone who said we should follow Michael's word to think about:

If Michael forgave Gavin, Sneddon, and his family back in 2005, would you stand up for them as you're doing now for this family? Would you preach love and understand to fans who would call Gavin a bastard, a prick, and one who betrayed Michael in the worst way? Would you stand up to say that Michael never spoke a bad word against Gavin and even called him misguided, so fans should forgive and pray for them. Most of all, would you pray for those fans' souls and put Gavin's name next to God to ask for forgiveness?

If you can do all the above, then you're truly a saint. For the rest of us mere mortals, we have the right to judge and act in the way our beliefs and faith see fit. You may pray for forgiveness, but leave me out of your prays.

Also the quote, "Let's please keep in mind one thing this is not, I REPEAT is NOT an MJJCommunity mentality", there is no 'MJJCommunity mentality'. Everyone here is allowed to think and feel however they want. Just because they joined a board doesn't give you or anyone else the right to say what their mentality should be. That isn't the way society works. We may all come together to share a common idea, in our case our love for Michael, but we sure don't have to agree on every little detail. Especially trying to tell us who we should love and hate.

The only mortal who was able to do such a thing was Jesus and the last time I checked, Michael wasn't him. Also love and hate are intertwine with the human soul. Both exist so you can't say love can't exist without hate. That is like saying a positive cannot exist with a negative. You can love a person and despise their actions.

Finally on your statement: "Michael wanted his children to see the loving world he held in his heart, we ARE the biggiest apart of this beautiful world he dreamed of, we are ONE with it.. heal the world we live in and save it for our children..if not us then who ?" Healing the world starts at home. If the kids are taught their father is nothing more than a bank account and they are entitle to fans and honor just for being Michael's children, what are we teaching them? If we give the family a free pass to everything and never questioned them, what are we teaching the kids? As long as your last name as Jackson you can do whatever you want and the fanbase will support you? That is not healing the world, that is adding to the population of selfish child celebrities.

I sincerely disagree with MJ Tinkerbell. I dislike his family (not hate) AND I've always loved Michael unconditionally. It's a bit insulting to fans (like myself) when someone insinuates that the two are mutually exclusive.

I'll join Rhilo on that. I had no opinion on most of the Jacksons prior to 09. I can say now they have lost my respect. That has nothing to do with my love for Michael. They are separate individuals, just like my family are not me. Sharing DNA and a last name doesnt make you respectable. Your actions do. And so far, basing myself only on cold hard facts, it's an epic fail in my book.

I agree, I feel the same way about that quote by MJ Tinkerbell.

I also can't stand when Jackson family fans, imply that a person cannot be a Michael Jackson fan without loving his family. I am such a fan, and if only they knew what I've endured and done in the memory of Michael in terms of charity...

I do agree with some of the parts of the letter but we have to think of mjs kids & how they feel bout all this. Remember guys even though some of us may not agree with some the jacksons behaviour mjs kids will affected

I agree that the letter was harsh but I never believed the intention was hateful.

I didn't realize that to question someones actions meant that you also hated them. I have questioned the actions of the Jackson's over the last 2 years and it hurts my feelings very much that you then think that means I hate them. i have never said that. I am asked not to judge but I would appreciate not being judged in return.

MJ Tinkerbell, nowhere in the letter did it say they hate the Jackson family neither did they say there is hatred for the Jackson family. They are simply saying that they don't like the way they are bringing up the children as it isn't in line with the way Michael was raising them. I agree wholeheartedly with the letter but I don't hate the Jackson family. I don't know them to hate them but I dislike the actions of certain members of the family. There is a huge difference between hating someone and hating their actions.

Since you didn't know the ends of out of Michael's life, how do you know he loved unconditionally? Who are you to say that Michael never hated something or someone just because you have this idea that he was a saint. Even the Saints from the Bible didn't live an unconditional loving life. Even Martin Luther King, Jr, Mother Teresa, and Gandhi who I personally consider modern saints didn't lived lived and loved perfectly with unconditional love. These are humans, not God nor Jesus. None of us, even the best of us, can ever be perfect. Love and hate is also part of being human. To say you can't hate is like saying you're can't be human. You can hate and despised actions without hating the person.

Do you really think it is healthy for force a 7-8 years to go on tv when they clearly don't want to or forced them to sign autographs when they had done nothing but be someone's parent? Aren't we telling the kids that they are better because they got the blood of Michael Jackson flowing threw their vains and they have a loyal legion of fans who will follow them to the ends of the earth because o that fact. That is not something you want to be teaching any child.

Michael loved so he surely wouldn't hate Gavin and wouldn't approved of fans talking about him. He didn't hate Sneddon, despite writing a song about him, so we have no right to judge Sneddon on his action. The same with Gene. Michael never spoke bad about him, so we must not call Gene greedy and amoral because Michael wouldn't want that.

Such a letter is overdue. It would have had to be written already 20 years ago!
I know: This wasn’t possible....
Nevertheless, I imagine whether Michael's life had been not different, if his family had known that Michael was not alone.

Tinkerbell, you aren't making much sense. I find it offensive when people try to define how a Michael Jackson fan should think, feel and act. We are many.

I love Michael with all my heart, but save for his kids, I don't care much for his family because of their actions since Michael's passing. Are you saying my love for Michael is not real because I dislike and criticize how his family has behaved?

@MJ Tinkerbell, Thank you for responding and I do get the point you are trying to make, and I know your intentions are good, but I do beg to differ. For me very few subjects in life are black and white and for me the Jackson family sit in that grey area. I don't believe that to love Michael you have to love his family, and equally I don't understand why it would have to be a choice of love and hate, there is also something inbetween.

I can respect the fact that they are his family and I can respect their grief, but at the very same time as showing them that respect I can also not respect some of their decisions.

Pre 09 I was non plussed really by the family, some of their actions had made me wary over the years, but I have felt increasingly disappointed by them since Michael passed.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. With reference to the text in Red. Yes, Michael was fully capable of disliking a person when their actions disappointed or disgusted him. He was human.

Occasions where he made his dislike known publicly include the time he wore the anti-Martin Bashir jacket and called out Tommy Mottola for trying to sabotage his album. Of Gavin Arviso, he also apparently said, "God forgive me for saying this, but I really hate that kid...".

We all know that Michael's message was love. No one has done ANYTHING to those beautiful children ,,they are the innocent one's in all of this. It's the family that sucks..and ya wanna know what,,,if I had the opportunity to read that letter to their face,,,,guess what? I would. Enough is enough already. People have been tip toeing around this family for two years..the fans have voiced their concerns on many occasions for the well being of Michael's children..The Jackson's ignored it and continued on with their next money making adventure. Now this finally got their attention....its to bad that it DID take this letter to get their attention. If they are that hard headed as they seem to be then this letter to wont mean a thing to them...time will go by and this too will be swept under the rug. BUT can tell you this if fans didn't step in .......the messes that they involve those children in...Heaven only knows the situations that those children would of been put into by now.

i wonder if those that support the family are actually aware of whats gone on the last 2 years. ? are they educated in the ins and outs? if so how do u defend such actions? ppl call out dr drew and others for talking acrap about mj. yet its ok for his own flesh and blood to say it? if u care more about the family then mj and his wishes and legacy then fine.easier just to say that so we know where u are coming from and it makes it easier to understand.

I love Michael with all my heart, but save for his kids, I don't care much for his family because of their actions since Michael's passing. Are you saying my love for Michael is not real because I dislike and criticize how his family has behaved?

I understand you 100% and please don't get the impression that I am pro-Jackson I am not..I am pro-Michael..I really have to say when Michael died I through all my rage at Katherine, I was in so much pain, never felt pain ever or since..I realized what pain I was in blaming Katherine and JOE for making his life a living hell while he lived..Then the reality is, what does hurting the Jacksons have to do with my pain ? What did that do for me ? How could I serve Michael unconditionally and mean something ? I began to see that everything they would do that went against Michael, made me more mad..which fueled the pain..I tell you now if I didn't LOVE Michael with everything I am today I could not have all this LOVE I share with everyone everyday !! I understood that nothing I did or the Fans could do would change them, regardless..I understood that no matter what it is our actions that define Us Michael taught me that !! Hurt and pain is a terrible thing to live through, we have all had some experience of this..The Jacksons I believe will continue to disappoint and display more of their questionable behaviour, like they have been doing long before Michael was even born..They have never and will never answer to the Fans, it's not them we DEFEND or adore anyway right it's Michael..and to Michael his children are everything..that letter or others like it directed at them as if those words mean something to them, in this way at this time before the Trial, only further pushes them to behave in ways no one will believe or understand..Those wall of Havenhurst are large and high and deep and solid..When you don't want the world in it's the best way to keep it out..and time goes by and they get older and they grow up, they have to live the rest of their life without Michael, that's enough but to have letters like this written in the way it was written coming from fans, hurt me and I am an adult..They have to have some kind of stability for them to heal anyway they can..What kind of stress it for them to see this kind of MISGUIDED disrespect coming from the very people their father lived for before them..I think they will be beyond shocked, they will close off from this kind of ugliness, and their trusts will be broken ! Sorry, but no. It's not their responsibility. They shouldnt be seen as Michael's kids, but as KIDS. Period. They dont owe us anything. If they're happy selling car insurance, or picking oranges, good for them. They have nothing to handle as far as we are concerned, just like their future life is none of our business. If the fans want unity, they'd better start working on it themselves. It has nothing to do with the kids.

I am not one to question anyone beliefs and you're free to chose and feel anyway you like. However, putting this much faith into a human will only lead to disappointment. Michael at the end of the day was a human and the kids will never be Michael and inherit his fanbase. For example, I really don't care about Michael's kids. Don't get me wrong, I pray for their well-being and hope that they become great people one day. But, they will never replaced Michael and I am not looking for a replacement goldfish. In my opinion, the kids need to find their own path and create their own lives and not be force to become saviors or saints to their father's fanbase.

You're also wrong in the sense that they do answer the fans. We are their buyers and by them doing this stuff less and less fans are willing to support any of their project. Of course they will be some hardcore Jackson fans who will always support the Jacksons despite their actions, but that is far from the majority of the fanbase. Resentment does nothing to boost sells and the Jacksons are quickly finding this out. Otherwise, more people would be trying to but a ticket to this tribute.

I dont think we will ever agree on that one. Some want to believe that supporting Michael's whole family is deserved, others, including myself, cant get over their behavior over the last 2 years. I personally don't understand how you cant forget those actions, or what your feelings are. Just me.

@MJ Tinkerbell, I am really happy for you that you have managed to deal with your feelings toward Joe and Katherine following Michael's passing. I didn't have those feelings toward them then I was/am angry at the media and his accusers. I blame them.

I agree with Ben, we have to be very careful with our expectations of the children. I won't say any more or we will go completely off topic.

I feel it's hard putting all into one category ie being pro Michael, all the Jackson family are individuals and it's only fair to treat them as such.

I think only a true friend would tell you if you needed to be told, and I do think the family should informed how many in Michaels fan base are feeling.... however, I wouldn't put my name to the letter we are discussing here.

Right. To hate is toxic for the soul, and harms the one who hates. . . . most of all. The M.J.A.N. letter actually WAS inspired by love. Love for Michael's children, given the past two-plus years and the behavior of the Jackson family toward them -- especially in the marketing of products (and of course, that horrific Howard Mann contract). Every person deserves respect, but not every person's actions deserve respect. The letter is critical of ACTIONS. Name-calling is never a good thing, and the letter calls no names.

I think that some people think that the M.J.A.N. letter was a public piece of writing (and it was), but somehow fan-boards are not? They ARE public. The membership of MJJC is HUGE -- it's the biggest Michael Jackson fanboard in the world. Journalists troll here all the time, as do members of the Jackson family. I've seen statements in threads that name-call members of the Jackson family, and express venom. I wonder if the posters realize, those ARE public statements? These are not private conversations here and on other (semi) public fanboards.

No one at M.J.A.N. wishes any harm to come to any member of the Jackson family. But yet, it IS felt that Michael's precious children are being harmed -- and particularly by the family's money-making schemes. In the U.S. we have freedom of expression as a constitutional right, and we have freedom to express our opinions. That is what the M.J.A.N. letter IS. An expression of opinions, and primarily a deep concern for Michael's children based on what we see of them, in PUBLIC.

Can anyone POSSIBLY imagine Michael Jackson having developed a product line (such as perfumes? Or, VODKA?) and then enlisting his children to assist in MARKETING those products? In PUBLIC? That would have been absolutely, a hundred-percent, unthinkable.
