I'd read somewhere in 1994 LA had a severe earthquake and Michael even called LMP because he had a nervous breakdown... soooo, I'd assume he wanted to prepare for that natural disaster with survival food.

Michael often gave gifts to those he worked with and whilst working on The Wiz with makeup artist Michael Thomas, Michael presented him with an inscribed copy of the book “A Pictorial History of Horror Movies” by Denis Gifford published in October 1977. The inscription inside the book written by Michael says: "To Mike. I think the greatest present in the world is a book thats fitting to the desire. So freak yourself out’. Love Michael Jackson Wiz"

Michael Thomas died in Aug. 2009 and the book sold for $4400 at Auction.
