As I guy I'll say that he looked his best right through the Dangerous era with the best look being that of the BAD one. When it came time for History I did not think the perm suited him. Not to offend anyone...but I recall during the History era that many started to think MJ was a woman. Although that clearly was and isn't the case...the perm just did not help matters.
After that I thought he was kind of hit or miss with his appearance. As stated, his outfits often made or broke things. He is the only man that could pull off some of those outfits but some of them were just bad. Remember the blue jump suit from the Invincible signing? Not a good look.At the same time I didn't think he looked bad during the 30th anniversary show. That white outfit he wore with his brothers was a perfect look for him.
Anyway was he an attractive man? I mean I guess. I personally don't see the big deal most of the time but I'm not trying to either lol. I will say that the only females that I know that found him attractive are fans of his. I've never met a non fan that thought he was cute.
Not to offend anyone but the only people that I ever hear call MJ the "sexiest man ever" are die hard MJ fans. The ones that say he is hideous tend to not be fans of his so I think its the entire package that you either love or hate so yes, I would say its a fan thing.
well..if MJ didn't have so many fans, that statement of yours would hold weight.
after all..a person usually says good things about someone they are a fan of, for the most part. and the fact that other celebs didn't and don't have as many fans as MJ has, says something.
it's nothing new that a person will say something bad about someone they dont like..and something good about a person of whom they are a fan.
for that matter..an average person will say something good about another average person they like..and say that an average person they don't like, is ugly.
since it's subjective...after having said all this...those who think MJ is/was ugly, can't be heard falling in a forest full of trees, as far as legitimacy is concerned.
theyre really outnumbered by fans, though, in the world, it doesn't seem so, when i go outside.
so..it's not really a matter of fans vs. non fans. it's more people think he's beautiful than those that don't.
it's like..take the word 'fan' away..and then say..more people think MJ is atractive than do not.
and that's why the media always put MJ's name up, to get hits on their websites.
i apply that same reasoning to those who love his music vs. those who don't, and conclude that the words 'general public', have no strength, when it comes to Michael, in all marketing matters.
