[Global Album Chart] "Thriller 25th" is #1! AGAIN!!!!(updated)

Re: [Global Album Chart] "Thriller 25th" is #1!

I just wondered.!?

How much is MJ paid pr. CD sold??

It T25 has sold 600.000 copies in just 2 weeks, and the rest of the cataloug is selling better these days because of the release of T25, then MJ must make a hell lot of money!

If he gets like 4$ a CD that'll be $2.4 million just for the T25 sales soo far.

But does anyone know how much he gets paid??

I'm sure I remember reading years ago somewhere that when MJ signed the huge contract with Sony in the early nineties, he got 25% of each album (not sure if that is retail cost or profit from each sale), which is a HUGE amount when you bear in mind lots of groups only get around 5% and that is shared between all of them, so basically about 1-2% for each group member!!!

IMO; I DO NOT think 166,000 copies are strong sales considering there was different editions available and the 'same fans' were just buying 'different versions'. If fans bought more than 1 edition that means there was not 166,000 'individual fans' that purchased. If each fan purchased at 'least' two different versions that means half of 166,000 is only 83,000 'individual fans' that purchased.

Going by your logic, since you tend to post a quote onto at "least" 4 different threads, that means a quarter of your 80 posts is only 20 'individual posts'. Which isn't really true because you posted that B.S. of "reading on another MJ board that MJ sent an acceptance speech to the Grammy's..." only 3 times. But you can still make it to 4, just post that quote again, but this time provide a link to that MJ board so you don't sound like a liar. :)

166,000 is a great number cosidering it is a 25 year old album..

AND, with EVERY one that has an album. There fans buy multiple albums.. That's just how it is with everyone.. Album sales count. period.

It's amazing that it reached number 1. It could have just been another re-release not even reaching top anything.. People re-release albums all the time.

You know Janets Larry King special should boost thriller sales a bit. It was mentioned on the show..

Excuse me because of my ignorance, what does k shipped means?
Thanks :)

k means thousand! shipped is how many copies are are sent out to the country but not actually sold!

I think #3 is amaxing!

T25 holds the #2 position in Denmark. 1. week #3, 2 and 3 week #2, would love to see it as #1 in Denmark, but i doubt it will happen!

T25 has done soooo much better that I've ever dreamed about!!

I just checked Billboard and they show Janet in the number one position.

But I also noticed that she called herself Janet instead of Janet Jackson. I wonder why?

Maybe Michael can call himself just Michael on his new album.

You mean the Arvisios? Yeah, how much you wanna bet that that Jackson dude has already left her?

Anyway, how much has T25 sold in the US so far?
