Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

No, but the other collaborators on Thriller 25 are.

Kanye West is nominated for album of the year (Graduation), best rap solo performance (Stronger), best rap performance by a duo or group (Southside w/Common and Classic w/Nas, Rakim and KRS-One), best rap/sung collaboration (Good Life w/T-Pain), best rap song (Can't Tell Me Nothing and Good Life) and best rap album (Graduation).

Akon is nominated for best pop collaboration with vocals (Sweet Escape w/Gwen Stefani), best R&B performance by a duo/group with vocals (Bartender w/T-Pain), best contemporary R&B album (Konvicted) and best rap/sung collaboration (I Wanna Love You w/Snoop Dogg).

Fergie is nominate for best female pop vocal performance (Big Girls Don't Cry).

So the other collaborators on Thriller 25 will probably be there at least to accept awards.

lmao Kanye is gunna flip if he doesnt win one!

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

ok so we are certain he's going to attend or is it still a rumor ?

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

I think some fans give Diane more attention than the average person. Nobody with good sense care about this woman; if people did care about Diane, Diane would have a bigger news job, but no, she does NOT. She make one or two appearances on Michael Jackson reject show which called Nancy Grace, whom does not have respect either and who tell people who call into her show to give her compliments, but overall NO ONe cares about Diane. When a person focused that much time on ONE celeb, people start to tune them out and people like DD look like stalkers. The public DOES NOT like it.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

I don't think she gets much attention at all. MJ fans aren't riding on her prediction alone that MJ will perform at the Grammies. If it was only her prediction then no MJ fans would believe it because she has no credibility. But since a lot of newspapers, tabloids etc. have reported it then that's why a lot of MJ fans are thinking that he might perform or at least attend.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

I still don't believe it. Regardless of WHO it is. Something fishy's going on though.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Welp its all good. I'm glad that article said that Mj needed more time to rehearse and waiting for the opportune moment instead of...oh i dunno "scared to perform" LOL

The reporters are reporting it because they all got it from the same source, HER. The problem with that is that she plagarised it from fan boards. She has no valod source and knows no more than we know. She lurks on fansites. So, nothing she says has any value at all, likewise the media.^_^

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

I just read on the tv guide website that Michael was asked to perform at the Grammy's,but he wanted more time to rehearse new routines,so he will just be there to acknowledge the 25th anniversary of Thriller.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Wow! SO much information/speculation being uncovered now.

In a way, I'm more inclined to steer towards a simple appearance rather than a performance. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE Michael to perform however I believe that it would ruin - as I said in earlier in the thread - any anticipation from the general public of Michael's official return to the stage w/new material. I applaud Michael's reluctance to perform as I believe he knows how to handle this burst of attention, however he is being very strategic in that he's not over-exposing himself before his proper return

I'd prefer Michael's comback performance to be something new an innovative. Not a re-visit of the past.. -_-

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Not having time to rehearse is the lamest excuse. They've been negotiating for weeks if not months -- he had plenty of time. I still hope there's a surprise there and he will perform.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

I wish Michael would stay in the shadows until his new album (if ever) comes out. I think it would be, strategically, a good move. Make people wait lol. It builds up anticipation/tension. And then, BOOM!

I agree with you.

MJ may have been busy with other things more pertinent (like finishing the album possibly?) Who knows. We don't know...so why rag on him for making 'excuses'.

Most likely the reason is that MJ doesn't wanna make his first performance dedicated to remixes of an album made 25 years ago.

IF not...it'll be nice if he surprises us with a performance but i doubt it.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

It seems more likely that, when ready, Michael will perform a few classics and a new song, with new choreography and all, like he did at the 2001 anniversary concert with YRMW.

Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/jackson wont sing at grammys_1058492

Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON will appear at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (10Feb08) - but he won't be singing at the ceremony. Jackson was rumoured to be attending the Los Angeles bash to promote a 25th anniversary re-release of his seminal album Thriller, and organisers were keen for the star to duet on hits from the LP with a number of contemporary performers, including Will.I.Am, Akon, Kanye West and Fergie. But Jackson - who hasn't performed live in seven years - was reluctant to take on such a big project at short notice. A source tells the New York Post, "Michael can't go along with that. He needs more time to rehearse new versions of the songs. And everything requires new choreography." The Post reveals that Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich backed down and consented for Jackson to just appear onstage.

But MJ can still do his billie jean song on stage! MJ does not need new music of new album to dance to his classica.

Re: Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys

In my heart of hearts I didnt really expect a performance but that little glimmer of hope I was hanging on to is dwindling rapidly! Oh well, theres always next year.

Come on! just coz he isn't going to perform songs from T-25 at the Grammy doesn't meant that there will be no new album. Have some faith. ;)

Re: Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys

Whats he 'appearing' for??

Re: Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys

Great to see that he is actually planning to show up, even though a performance would be the best thing for him right now. Oh well, let us just hope Michael will sing live soon, so people can see that he still deserves his title and that he still is the Michael Jackson we once knew. 2008 IS Michaels year, and I can't wait to see him on the Grammys :)

Re: Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys

Can i just ask, what do they mean by appearing ?? ??

Re: Michael Jackson - Jackson Won't Sing At Grammys
