Dang, that party must have been corny. All I will say is this - JD never said that MJ was going to be there. If I were to "dissed" JD, I would diss him on the location of his club and the music that he played. He invited grown ass people there and he had the nerve to play Souja Boy's garbage music. That is an insult. V, did the club even played Anita Baker? Some Run DMC? Some Stevie Wonder? Something old school?

Anyway, back to JD - he never said that MJ was going to be there. He hyped up that party and from what V and MsMo is saying, the party was wack as hell. I am sorry you guys went. JD said that the Jackson 5 were going to be there. When you tell people, esp. people who LOOOOOVE MJ that the Jackson five will be there, you better make it clear if MJ was going to be there or not. Why? Because when people hear the words "Jackson" and "Five", they automatically assume MJ. Why? MJ is the Jackson Five. So, I do not think that JD should not be bashed all of the way but he should be cited for not making himself clear.

He didn't say that Michael WOULN'T be there either... he mislead people that Michael would be there by announcing a J5 with Janet Reunion.

Dear, the J5 consists of Michael Jackson as he was the lead singer and star member. He should have said the Jackson 4 or individual names, even members of the J5. But he should had NEVER said J5 if he wasn't trying to mislead people purposely or even by accident.

I don't think it was by accident either, because he had plenty of time to correct any miscommunications, misquotes or misrepresentations. He wanted to sell tickets to his attraction, so he wisely fabricated a facade, not necessarily a lie though either.

Exactly. That's why the girl in the video yelled "WHERE'S MICHAEL!?!" Call it ignorant but obviously (and this is no disrespect to the elder Jacksons) no one was trying to check for Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon like that.

Besides, the only group that can actually get away with having just four of five is New Edition: Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike (with Ralph and Johnny). :lol:

and errr for you ATLians who feel liberties to call out the S.W.A.T. (southwest atlanta) let me just remiiiiiiiiiiind y'all (and in case ya didn't know) we had a packed, classy house at the Crow's Nest in Colli Poark when the Temptations, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and the OhiO Players came thru and I can tell ya if it had been there this would have been something to be proud of.

They'd have had to pull their limo behind the Crow limo and it would've been a class act all the way. (still not classy enough for Michael mind you) I still can't believe they advertised this on V-103 - that makes no sense considering the J-5 is an ole school group - no matter who needed a 'favor' - the crapp should've either made sense or not been done at all - and I still can't believe those guys showed up for this

but as I said in an earlier post, it had to be for a family "favor" - that's all it could've been - otherwise - makes no sense.

Looks like the brothers tried to make the best of a bad situation tho and tried to have some kinda fun and I do wish I could've been there to meet them.

You are 100% correct about 102.5 being the station/crowd to cater to for J5 or at least 104.1, but clearly, it wasn't about them. It was ALL about promoting JD & his club from jump.

I don't know if you're originally from the ATL but the S.W.A.T. is the home of Mr. V's, Ciscos, Markos and the original Crow's Nest! It may not be Beverly Hills but...when it comes to throwing the right kinda party..

...the S.W.A.T. don't play! :lol: Heck 20 Grand coulda done a better job - by far! (if its still there - its been through so many changes..) heck I'm gonna have ta name drop just to represent! Nice to see 5 of the brothers together. But this is not what you could call a comeback appearance. Doesn't really look like they were 'descending from the sky in a helicopter'. Hope they had a good time though. And let's hope this is at least a sign that something is coming up.

Promoters are always using lines about celebrities showing up to their parties to sell tickets- it aint nothing new. Then you get there and its wack, unorganized and maybe 1 bench sitter that played pro ball about 5 years ago.

Yet most peeps know by now that MJ hasn't appeared with his brother onstage in that capacity since the Victory tour in the '80's. Furthermore, the brothers (or some of them, or ONE of them in particular) has been drumming up support for a reunion tour -- something that MJ never committed it. Lastly, I don't think the peeps at that club were expecting MJ to show and I'm sure that the brothers had no problems with how the event was marketed.
