Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Thank you Lady Gaga. That's all I hoped for.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Well at least she's not gonna wear them, so that's good.

Oh lord NO! Gaga already wore the Pearl Jacket from the Oscars didn't she? So I'm sure she will do the same with the rest or be wearing them in her vids?! :ermm: Hopefully she will at least send them to some museum or something?!
she did wear it but it was from a fashion show

[h=1]Leaving Philip Treacy Show: Lady Gaga in Michael Jackson Collection[/h] Posted on Monday, September 17, 2012
After Philip Treacy Spring 2013 Fashion Show, Gaga was photographed leaving the Royal Courts of Justice wearing one of the looks from the show, and Michael’s iconic glove.
If you were, same as me, growing with Michael’s music, I don’t have to add the white sequined blazer with pearl embellished lapel designed by Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush (MJ’s costume designers during 25 years), was worn by Michael back in 1991 for the Oscars.
For those of you who asked me about the availability of the collection (or the Mickey Ears Headpiece in particular), I’m not able to tell you any concrete information right now, but will definitely keep you posted!

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

I was expecting for the bidder 462 to be some celebrity, huge Michael fan, but never thought of Lady Gaga.....it could've been much worse though, could've been jb lol

I wonder if we will ever see those precious things again and how, when? :(

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Did she buy that Oscar Mj Pearl Jacket? Since she wore it once I would be surprise she didn't! Cause if some else did they can sell it too now and say both MJ and Gaga wore it. lol

yes she did, 180000 $

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Branca wrote the foreward in bush's book on mj's costumes so therefore bush and the estate are colluding in the fraudulant selling off of the jackson family heritage. It all makes sense if you think about it for long enough and obsessively enough, which randy has obviously done.

 Omg even the dangerous tour outfit were put on for sale????NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i was hoping to one day see it in like a muesum or something like that :(

The Estate still has one of the Dangerous costumes and the gold pants though. I've seen them on the London O2 exhibition and FanFest in Vegas so you'll still be able to see it one day.

Thanks for Morinen and others who kept me updated what went on @auction.

Did kids picked Jackson 5 costumes out of the collection?

Somehow I see fitting that Lady GaGa bid for these costumes. She understands fashion, she wear as much outstanding costumes as Michael did, and she understand the historic value of them.

Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ jacket, spangled gloves sold at auction; Lady Gaga among collectors
By Associated Press, Updated: Monday, December 3, 8:39 AM

LOS ANGELES — Costumes worn by Michael Jackson commanded hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction, and Lady Gaga was among the collectors.

Gaga tweeted Sunday that she bought 55 pieces in the sale administered by Julien’s Auctions and said she plans to keep the items “archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of Michael Jackson, his bravery and fans worldwide.”

Auctioneer Darren Julien said the jacket Jackson wore during his “Bad” tour fetched $240,000. Two of Jackson’s crystal-encrusted gloves sold for more than $100,000 each, as did other jackets and performance costumes.

The auction featuring the collection of Jackson’s longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush raised more than $5 million. Some proceeds benefited Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.

reading through this thread i didnt think id get to the end and see that lady gag ga was the famous 462! well at least she loves mj and might have the same respect for the outfits that other fans would.who knows maybe she might donate to thee museum? a girl can hope.

anyway hope bush enjoys his money and crawls back under his rock with the rest of them

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

I wonder what she plans on doing with his costumes, other than have them stored.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

If GaGa lives up to her promise to take care and respect the pieces she bought, I'd be genuinely grateful to her. She bought them fair and square and I hope she takes really good care of them. Michael wanted her to open TII so he clearly liked her music and/or artistry... I'm glad I got to see these outfits a couple of times on display before this auction.

I am SO happy to see this right here...I was so sad after watching that auction last night...then this morning I woke up with renewed hope that GaGa bought the items and she would take care of them as good as one of us would. Now seeing this post here..I KNOW his things are going to be ok and I can breath a sigh of relief.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

At least w enow know who bidder 462 was. Maybe one day when there is a museum she will give permission for the items to be shown there. Out of respect for Michael I assume she won't wear any of the items, ever.

you were so vocal in your support of the auction, I cannot imagine what you thought would happen. I am sure other pieces went to far more questionable albeit anonymous buyers. Gaga is a fan.

Curious to know who else bought a piece of his costumes yesterday. Bieber? Kanye? I guess time will tell...

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Everyone should tweet to her that you want them to be in a museum to fans to see. I hope she doesn't wear them.

The bolded part...We can only pray that whoever bought the other pieces will take good care of them as well. Oh Lord...if Beiber bought a piece and shows up in it somewhere....MJ fans will make his life a living nightmare..lol Thats the thing with these auctions we never know WHO the buyers are at the time. Hope it is someone that loves MJ and will respect his clothes.

Why? She should do as she pleases. I don't think MJ fans are in any position to dictate what should be done with these clothes. She, unlike Bush has no connection to MJ. She wasn't his employee.

I just hope she's a worthier owner than the previous one.

Exactly. So I can't help but roll my eyes when people who were supporting the auction are now whining about the buyers. Jermaine Jackson, if he had the money, could have bought them and wear them on stage. Or better yet...Howard Mann...

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

If she want to use them and actually use them
she will do it without problems...
is her right now.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

they don't look like mj's signatures to me.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

glad to know lady gaga was no 462. she's a fan and she's amazing. :) she's got taste. ^_^

Uh oh :mello:

Don't know whether to cry or laugh...I hope she takes good care of them, and God forbid never wears them. At least we know who bought them and it didn't go to some unknown.

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

I just keep having these recurring thoughts (nightmares :bugeyed) of her using these clothes for her own creations or something like that...What with her crazy fashion sense and what not....

I have faith she will care for and respect these clothes as a symbol of Michael's legacy :praying:

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

^She's can't be that dumb. I'm sure she considers it as an investment just as much Michael did with the Beatle's catalogue in the 1980s.

Yes this is true....

I don't really think she'd do that, but that's just what I pictured as soon as I heard she bought the clothes lol

The whole Julien's catalog was sold, nothing was left out. So either that Bush's/estate's statement was untrue (which is very unlikely), or the deal was made before the collection went to Julien. I'd love to know what he donated to the estate then. In my opinion most of the pieces Gaga bought where iconic, and although Gaga will probably take good care of them, I would have preferred them to belong to the estate.

And that issue with the LA Gear stand signature is still open...

Re: Juliens Auction Dec 2 - The Collection of Tompkins and Bush Auction

Do we even know for sure she is making a museum of the products? She says she's expertly archiving them - so she's going to preserve them extremely well but what else? Are they just going to be locked away? She's really active on twitter so if we can all try and tweet her we can get more information.
