Michael Jackson Said To Have Secretly Collected Nazi Films

Metrolyrics.com : Michael Jackson had a secret collection of Nazi documentaries, it emerged yesterday. The late King of Pop hunted out specialist video sellers who were able to discreetly sell him hard-to-find films and documentaries.

Alarmingly, given the child sex allegations against him, these included TV specials and dramas depicting troubled boys in dysfunctional families.

But most shockingly they also included a thirst for information depicting the horrific Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler. Seller Norman Scherer says he helped ***** form "a really good collection" and adds he provided him with titles like, 'Nazis: Of Pure Blood', 'Oasis of the Zombies' and 'Hitler's Children'.

He says Jackson then displayed the tapes along the walls of his video vault at the Neverland ranch. "Michael Jackson was a very special client to me," insisted Scherer, who owned a videotape distribution company in the 1990s.

He says in 1995 that he was approached by a New Yorker looking to place big orders for a "famous" client. He was told the deal could only work if he vowed to be discreet.

Jackson's former personal assistant, Scott Schaffer, had hunted him down and acted as the go-between. "I knew what [Jackson] wanted," Schaffer said.

Asked about the Hitler videos, Scherer says he assumed that the singer just loved the military uniforms, and the lockstep marching.

Not only a highly distorted report of events, but one with deliberate very negative charged words to twist the knife.What on earth is so awful about Michael watching films about boys in dysfunctional families? Don't most of us watch films filled with godawful violence and gratuitous sex on a regular basis? Does that make us horrendous mass-killers? Michael loved history. He always wanted to find things out--why shouldn't he be curious about the Nazi era? I'm sure he was studying all kinds of other things, too. He wanted a balanced view; he wanted to be able to make up his own mind about these things, and not accept the pablum so many people accept as fact, merely because it is offered to them. So what? I have Nazi films in my DVD collection and watch Nazi documentaries, does that make a freak then?
 
I find nothing wrong with this. I have a fascination with Hitler and the Holocaust as well. I think it is very intriguing and it was one of my favorite things to learn about in school. I can't wait to study it again. That doesn't mean Michael admired Hitler or supported his actions. Michael had a love for history and I don't find it surprising that he had an interest in this.


I can't believe the media is trying to use this against him. :sigh:
 
Well, guess what, I even own Leni Riefenstahl's autobiography and what's worse, I have even read that big thing. Count me among the sickos then.
Dear Michael, apparently that book has been translated- if it wasn't I would have even read and translated it for you, 'cause from an artist point of view her visual work sure was interesting to look at.

What the sick thing really is, that people need to be explained that one doesn't automatically turn into a racist a-hole and Nazi just because one wants to examine popular mainstream back in the day.

We have heads and brains to think for ourselves and I'm quite confident Michael Jackson had more than enough of those to be able to "handle" a documentary or two.

Geez. Apparently MJ was a jack of all trades, all at the same time: asexual, homosexual, bisexual, Nazi, chronic "Peter Pan sufferer", regressed to the mental state of a 10 year and a few more things- ALL THAT THE SAME TIME. I call that multitasking.

By the way, who decides who has the "moral right" to "own Nazi documentaries"? Should I get my mom to write me a permission slip that I'm able to handle that?
Funny, there are TONS of documentaries out there in that era, broadcasting that material every day, yet owning any of it is morally questionable. Weird.
 
Michael stated his opinion about Hitler, his personal abilities and ideology in Rabby Shmuley book.
The press coverage intentionally forces to see everything from a different perspective :scratch:.

Put me on the list as well. I own more Nazi films than other films and have gone far and wide to find out-of-print books (The Goebbels Diaries) and have spent numerous paychecks and birthday monies buying Third Reich-related stuff. I own Eva Braun's home movies, along with Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph des Willens.

I even own some original WWII artifacts, along with replica items. I guess my original Third Reich booklets, postmarks, stamps and coins must make me a heinous freak. I have always been interested in Nazi Germany, as I am sure Michael was very interested as well. However, neither one of us adheres to those viewpoints, as evidence shows. It is part of being an independent thinker to explore all areas of history and all sides, to dig out the truth buried underneath the nationalist lies.

The writer of this article fails in citing Michael's other historical interests. Michael was a very scholarly person, despite his lack of formal eduation. He wished to learn and explore, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is the people who do not do that sort of thing and sit back absorbing other people's viewpoints who have something wrong with them.

I think the fact that he ventured so far to obtain these items speaks positively of him. Most people don't care enough about history to do those kind of things. History lovers ftw!
 
Everybody watches documentaries about Hitler and the Nazi's all the time, I've seen very very few, Michael possible wants to learn about all this for his education. I'd never collect any Nazi stuff, because I hate these b@$^@%#$ for the holocaust and for being racist. Again they're trying to go at it on Michael again.

many people have many things about Hitler or any others like Hitler. if a person didn't read or watch about something, how he can learn about it?

we all say something about Hitler, where did we learn? of course by reading or watching or listening something about him.

i cannot find a word to say about it. i don't know whether or not Michael have a collection about hitler but if he has, it only shows us how Michael is an intellectual person, his love about learning about history, etc. it doesn't make Michael hitler.

nowadays, there are only a few people can be like Michael... read, watch, learn and do something for the humanity.
 
this is the kind of seed the media try to plant unconsciously into our mind. if they consider michael collecting anything nazi or hitler related stuff is a freak, then how about the historian who study history and even the media who produces and keep copy of the videos? although i never agree with most of hitler's actions, but it never make me less fascinated on nazi and him...i always search for any videos on anything from history related subjects including nazi, stalin, tsar nicholas, marcos...just to name a few. damn, so that means i'm a weirdo too. so count me in the list.

It’s a fact, Michael Jackson paid huge sums of money to stock his vast movie collection with scores of Nazi themed flicks and the two people Jackson employed to find him those movies are speaking out for the first time.

We talked exclusively with Norman Scherer, who was Jackson’s personal movie dealer back in the 1990s.
Scherer’s take on why Jackson ordered movies glorifying Hitler is vastly different than details given to the NY Post by Scott Shaffer, Jackson’s former personal assistant.
“I couldn’t believe just how turned around the story was in the press. Sites are saying that I said Michael was obsessed with Nazis” said Scherer, “He did get Nazi-based films from me, but I don’t think he watched them for twisted reasons, he was fascinated with the way the military moved, and they were research for his dancing.”

Scherer owned “Video Oyster” in the 1990s, a video vault of rare movies and TV shows from around the globe. His office, located on Wall Street, sold rare finds to college kids, Wall Street stock brokers and everyone in between including countless celebrities, like Richard Gere, Naomi Campbell, Keith Richards, Ted Turner and Barbara Streisand, to name a few.

Scott Shaffer heard about Scherer’s thriving video business through the grape vine of entertainers in NYC, and first called him in November of 1995.

Shaffer told Scherer that he had a big client for him, and that customer was Michael Jackson.
Shaffer sent over a list of movies and TV shows to Scherer, and he began providing Jackson with boxes and boxes of VHS movies. Sometimes Scherer would hand deliver the videos to the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC, where Jackson lived for many months.


BIG BUCKS FOR RARE MOVIES
Scherer’s first check from Jackson was for a cool $21,725.00, and it was drawn from the account of “Neverland Valley Ranch.” “The checks kept coming in and I kept shipping Jackson boxes of movies for months.” Scherer said.
There was one list of what Michael wanted in the beginning, “Nazi-based movies”, “Disney movies”, “troubled male youth movies”, “Judy Garland movies” and “vintage TV game shows.”
After a while, Scherer started to get the hang of picking movies that he knew Jackson would like.

Scherer recalls Shaffer telling him, “Michael likes you because you know what he likes – you think like him.” Because Scherer hand picked the films for Jackson, be began to get an intimate understanding of his viewing habits.
Nazi war stories were not the only thing Michael liked to watch, Scherer recounts, “He liked to buy old TV shows-old game shows, he liked old TV because it was easier times and less complicated. He bought Judy Garland movies because they make you smile” Scherer continued, “He liked the videos about young boys with troubled families-because he wanted to relate to what his youth was like-he found a connection in there.”

In an effort to set the record straight, Scherer maintained, “Michael created his own world… I don’t think any of that was a sexual thing. He genuinely loved children and loved living vicariously through them. I mean he loved Peter Pan!”

Now here’s where the story took a bad turn that plays out more like a scene from the movie “Blow”, than a simple sales transaction.
“I never met Michael, He didn’t want to ever come to my office because it smelled like pot, and Michael didn’t like pot.” Sherer admitting as to the reason he never actually met Jackson in person.

At one point Scherer was literally traveling around the U.S. to get films just for Michael, “70% of my business was from Michael.” said Scherer.

According to Scherer, Shaffer called him out of the blue in March of 96′ and demanded to receve a 10% cash cut from of all future checks from MJJ Productions/Neverland Valley Ranch, and for all subsequent orders of videos.
Scherer felt like he was being extorted, and he also thought that Jackson most likely did not know Shaffer was requesting a cut, but he knew he would lose the account if he did not agree.

“Scott tried to extort me and he said he’d drop the account if I didn’t give him 10% cash from each order, and Michael obviously didn’t know about it.” Said Scherer. “So I told him to come in Video Oyster, and I would give him the money.”

Then Scherer took matters in to his own hands, “Scott came in my office, and I told him, ‘Okay, you can only have the 10% if you dance like Michael’, and Scott started to dance – so I handed him the money.”

What Shaffer probably does not know is that Scherer video-taped the whole thing.
Scherer admitted that the tape of Scott trying to dance like Michael was funny, however, he did not intend on releasing the 15-year-old tape of Shaffer dancing on command, deeming it “humiliating.”

The business relationship between the two would never recover, “Soon after, I gathered up some movies I thought Michael would like, dropped them off at the Four Seasons concierge, and it was over.” Said Scherer.
The business relationship had ended, and they went their separate ways…15 years later, the two are reunited by this story…

The NY Post, who broke the story of Jackson’s so called “Nazi obsession” spoke with Scott Shaffer who stated, “the reason for ending business with Scherer was because his video prices became too high”, but Scherer insists they ended business because Shaffer “killed the vibe” after he tried to extort him.

Scherer has no regrets.

When asked, “What would you say to Shaffer if the two of you were to meet face to face?” Scherer said, “Thanks for the memories. Thanks for turning me on to a beautiful person [Michael].
I loved his work and I loved his mind. Some of the things he did may look bad, but they weren’t. Kids are fun, kids are better than people that MJ had a deal with.
I appreciated meeting Scotty and doing business, and was able to interact with Michael through him. It was an amazing experience.”

When it was in the news I have checked what kind of movies these were and most of them were actually ANTI-Nazi films....

Matter of fact, just this past Sunday my sister Pam, brother in law Jay and I studied this documentary the "Third Reich" that my/our favorite History Channel recently had on..!

And I collect books on serial killers...so what? It's part of human nature to have curiosities about the perverse. Especially for hungy minds. And we all know MJ certainly had one of those.

Well, it's not quite the same, although you do have a point. Michael was very interested in all history--I remember him talking about Napoleon as well. Besides, historians basically surround themselves with their area of expertise--one of my history professors is very fond of the middle ages and Russian history, and the other likes French history, and other things like that.

I know I can't compare myself to these guys, but for example, I have an interest in Third Reich history, and I collect Third Reich stuff as well. I am not surprised to see the tabloids treating Michael's very valid interest in history as something to be scandalized--I doubt those idiots have ever picked up a history book in their lives. Leave it to the ignorant to criticize what they don't know anything about.
