Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO
Hey I'm on a break but wanted to pop in here!
As long it works out for his interests & in his favor and most importantly is on his terms then whatever MJ decideds to do, as a MJ fan, will be fine with me!
Who else feels that especially with fox's supposed about face re; MJ that there's a conspiracy here. "We are pullling for him", I mean.. come on!
I believe that based on MJ's experience's both with California & the disrespect he's received from the Grammy committees that he could have very well decided to give them the 'high hat'!
I'm sure he's at least considering whether or not to answer with another 'self imposed exile' move designed to reverse the snub in regard to fux, the rest of the media, the prejudice or double standards he's endured as a businessman/artist in the American music industry and country as a whole. I consider fux's
leaks to be veiled threats made to MJ & wouldn't doubt he felt the same. Keep in mind that fox is owned by murdoch, who is the propoganda specialist for the republican party, (bush's buddy).
I mean think, do you think the Elvis estate, (interestingly enough recently named a national landmark by bush just after they drove MJ from his home ), BlacK American music owner, 'Mr. Maca' Paul MCartney or Sony (who apparently has a month to decide to make an offer), really wants to see MJ honored. Not to mention the media..fox included. They know if he is too visible, this time timberflake will have to acknowledge where he got his 'ideas about music' & his moves! Yes, they'll have to deal with the tributes to MJ by other musicians based on his musical accomplishments, but also their expressions of support to him regarding all of the obvious political persecution! His situation speaks to the purely 'traditional' brand of American racism both he & African American celebs in this county have & continue to endure... over the past 50 years.
For the record, Dick Clark always considered his American Music Awards to be the alternative to the Grammys' well-whitewashed acknowledgement of music.
The rumor about the "video acceptance speech" seems the least credible of them all. It was started by a random fan who claims that on some other unnamed forum another fan said that his uncle had some involvement . It sounds completely made up to me, and the fact that the poster has failed to provide even a link to the original so-called forum post furthers my belief that it was most likely a fan-created rumor, started for the sake of creating more drama...
The only factual information that anyone has at this point is that: 1.) GRAMMYs have confirmed that an "All-Star Thriller Tribute" will take place. 2.) Executive GRAMMYs Producer Ken Ehrlich has stated that Michael will not be taking the stage nor performing at the event.
Everything else is speculation, and will presumably remain as such until the event in two days.
