Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

Oh man I hope you're right!

I dunno though...Mike's the only one they cut out...I mean they kept the beatles thing in...
It is a bit peculiar that they never mentioned the Thriller tribute in any of their press releases , yet. In two days, all questions will be answered :yes:

Just because they did that, doesn't mean anything has changed! And I'm not saying he is, but do you really think if Michael wanted to do a surprise performance, do you REALLY THINK the Exec. producer Would actually say, oh yeah he's performing to Extra. I DON'T THINK SO!! Just watch the show, and don't jump to conclusions!

the fact is theyre saying there is a "surprise" performance.
obviously that means there is one performer they will NOT announce.
whether its MJ or not we dont know.
but there is SOMEONE who the Grammys are neglecting to confirm - on purpose.
if they announced it, there goes their surprise!

Exactly right! :D

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

Michael will be the suprise performer :D (that is what I think). Why would there be contest for MJ fans to win for a trip to the Grammys and tickets to attend it? It makes sense if Michael has something up his sleeve. Ohhhhhhh I can't wait! :punk:

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

LOL! Round and round we go!

Will he or won't he? Is it a surprise and Ehrlich is lying to protect the surprise OR is Ehrlich honestly telling the truth? Dun dun dunnn:lol:

I hope no one gets mad if he's telling the truth.

No...what I'm saying is that, he WAS in the commercial, but NOW he's NOT, you see?

That doesn't mean much, especially if he is the surprise!

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

Man, the speculation is ENDLESS in the MJ community. :)

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

wait wait wait, there is a contest for MJ fans for grammy tickets??

then the chance of a surprise performance just catapulted itself!

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

Is it true? Well, my sources say that Michael Jackson may actually be performing at the Grammy Awards this Sunday.

A lot could change between now and Sunday night, but the scenario that’s been described for me goes something like this: Justin Timberlake starts the show singing along with a tape of Frank Sinatra. The next act up is Jackson, performing one of his hits from "Thriller," possibly even re-creating the dance number for "Billie Jean" he made famous at the Motown 25th anniversary show in 1983.

Will it happen? Who knows. Jackson, my sources insist, has been rehearsing at a Burbank studio and keeping away from the Staples Center, where the Grammy show takes place.

Of course, if it does happen, Jackson would get a huge boost for the special 25th anniversary edition of "Thriller" that Sony releases on Tuesday. And if it doesn’t work out, well, then … as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Michael, the ball’s in your court. And believe it or not, we’re rooting for you.

Fox News

:eek: they're rooting for him? Fox? Well, I could complain, but you know I'm not going to. I don't care how they were because I WANT EVERYONE to be excited for MJ to come back and to be rooting for him and to be saying nice things about him. It's always better than being negative.

As far as the Grammys go, I won't get my hopes up at all for a live performance. If it happens, I will be overjoyed, but then if it doesn't, I won't be disappointed. I will be happy just to see him, and I do think he will show up.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

Ken Ehrlich's video denial on EXTRA seemed very pure and authentic to me. It was an affirmative: "No, Michael Jackson won't be performing." Fans still sincerely believing that he will be performing even after the executive producer of the GRAMMYs has denied it are only setting themselves up for disappointment. Of course, we can all remain hopeful ;)

Paul McCartney is not expected to attend the Beatles tribute either... How weird.

There has been at least half a dozen different GRAMMY commercials now, only one of which ever mentioned the Thriller tribute. It could very well just be a matter of fitting in additional performers and the Thriller promotion got chopped off from the teaser. The latest one reads:

"Sunday is GRAMMY night. With Rhianna, Carrie Underwood, Prince, Alicia Keys, A Beatles Tribute, Miley Cyrus, John Legend, Fergie, Beyonce, Cher, Tina Turner, Nelly Furtado. That's just the first hour. And, don't you dare miss the surprise opening performance at the GRAMMYs. Live, CBS Sunday."

There's gonna be a lot of performers this year :eek:

They always say things like that, and it gets all of us fans in an uproar like how I always think. "the only thing that would be THAT exciting to me is Michael Jackson". Then it ends up being something like Celine Dion singing with a hologram of Elvis or Eminem singing with Elton John or some ish. Not that I have anything against them or anything... but still.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

This is the second time we've gotten a COMPLETE DENIAL about Mj's performance at a show recently and STILL fans are thinking MJ will perform. I BET any money after Sunday this board will be flooded with 'disappointed' posts lol

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

I told you MJ was not appearing at the Grammy's as confirmed by a MJ fan whos uncle works at the Grammy Association. - Access Hollywood (tv show) and PerezHilton.com has now confirmed MJ will NOT appear at the ceremony.

So to the fans who bashed me on this board (I DO NOT NEED TO MENTION NAMES)

EAT YOUR OWN WORDS. :)

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

We were talking about the notion that MJ will only appear somewhere if his fans were invited. People disagreed with you and never bashed you. But I'm not getting into that again.

Extra confirmed that MJ will not PERFORM at the Grammys. There's a difference. Only Perez Hilton is saying that he will not be there at all.

So until Jackson's own people make it official...

WE STILL DON'T KNOW.

If he will be there or not.

Exactly! :lol: They're just hoping Michael is looking at this board and pondering over going after all. :lol:

Extra has stated: The King of Pop won't be making a special appearance at the Grammys.

NO. Correction. I just went to the site myself. Extra asked the Grammy producer whether or not MJ will be performing (exact words) on the show and he said "No. He will not be performing".

Can anyone with a good memory remember what the go was with the MTV 2001 surprise performance with N'SYNC? i.e. was it 'confirmed' before it happened? Was it know by the public that MJ was going to perform? Just trying to make some assumptions.

It really doesn't matter Ricky because the producer of the Grammys has already confirmed that MJ will not be performing.

Extra confirms he will NOT be performing and on the top of the website it states:
"Sorry, Jackson fans. The King of Pop won't be making a special appearance at the Grammys." More than one source have already confirmed he will not be attending.

No, nothing was confirmed. it was just rumors! I remember it vividly

Actually, only one blogger, Perez Hilton, has stated that MJ will not even be at the Grammys.

This is what Extra States:

Michael Jackson Won't Perform at Grammy Awards

Sorry, Jackson fans. The King of Pop won't be making a special appearance at the Grammys.

"Extra" has learned that reports of a special performance Sunday night are false. The show's Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich has put an end to speculation, dismissing rumors that he's taking the stage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My guess is that 'special appearance' is referring to 'special performance'.
But at this point, it doesn't matter because we will know soon enough on Sunday whether he will even be there.
I believe the word 'appearance' is referring to NOT appearing because the word 'appearing' in the dictionary reffers as 'the act or fact of appearing, as to the eye or mind or before the public'.
