MJ was on Prince concert...

does anyone actually want them to get along ?? whenever the topic of mike and prince crosses our path ... it has to carry this stigma as if they are two mafia families that have been at odds for centurys :lol:

they are grown men who have acknowledged one another's talents numerous times
 
I don't think they REALLY are at odds with each other. But i think there's some tension because of competition ;) I think that both MJ and Prince respect each other.

I just love exaggerating the tension though, cuz both of them are similar in a lot of ways and different in a LOT of ways. And they just seem to CLASH lol

Prince wouldn,t be so disrespectful to Michael , why would he and i think they are friends anyway. they even believe in the same faith. I think it all was in fun. I really like Prince but i love Michael Jackson .

When has Michael ever acknowledged Prince as a talent? Because i've heard Prince say that Michael was a "musical genius" before but I've never heard MJ talk about Prince in that way. Actually, Michael has barely ever said two words about Prince as far as I know (well publicly anyway).
 
He said that Billie Jean on MTV opened doors for other artists.....like Prince :lol: I remember that.

Well, he wanted him on the Bad record right? But other than that tidbit, he doesn't really talk about his peers, only the older artists from the previous generation that had influenced him.
 
Well that's true, but then again Michael also wanted to work with Madonna and I doubt he thinks of her as being any great talent :lol:, nah but I'm sure he respects Prince and enjoys his music.
 
Yeah, you are right. Michael's never really spoken about Prince. He did have James Brown call him up on stage after James called Michael up at that concert in 1983. Michael never talks about anyone though. Even when they ask him whose music he likes, he says classical, lol.

If I was in MJ's position I wouldn't know what to make of Prince coming up and playing the guitar in my face. I'd probably just be like Michael and just say "WTF?"

But either way, I don't think there are any hard feelings between the two. Prince is a huge J5/Jacksons fan. At one stage in the 80s, when he was trying to get LaToya to go out with, LaToya went to his house and said in an interview or something that he had a huge collection of J5 records. I think Prince even said at one stage that "Darling Dear" is one of his favourite songs. But on the other hand, I have no idea how Michael feels about Prince.

Well, I know that Mike and Prince are friends and are both Jehavoh Witnesses. Mike might have said things about Prince's talent but maybe to him personally. We really do not know. Do I believe that they competed aganist one another? Yeah, but friendly. I never believe that Mike and Prince had any beef. I think Mike's real beef was the media and never with any artists. Like he told Geraldo that great artists do not insult other artists. (He said something like that.)
