The X Factor USA -- It’s Michael Jackson Week!

Someone asked Paris on Twitter why Prince always has his earphone in his ear especially last night on X-factor and she said that he only uses to take calls, he uses his phone For BUSINESS/EMERGENCIES only.

Hmmmm.....

and isn't he the one according to Jermaine that wrote "Word to the Badd"?

lol I always wanted to know he and babyface's version of the story.
It's just so sad that they were able to write that kind of the song.
Back to the topic, I think the earth song is pretty good cover.
Prince and Paris behaved so mature that I felt they were way older than their actual age.
Blanket is still looked pissed off like always. I can see he was bored lol
I hope this mean that the Jacksons were starting to work "with" the estate not against.
I just hope it's a good start.

Ok, what i'm going to say is superficial but i have to say it because it bugs me. Who in the name of God is stilling Prince's hair? His fair cut is just awful !!!
Glad u said that cause i didnt want to say that about jr. but yeah his hair is terrible lol. its like an 80's mullet! his hair at the grammies was lovely
If it's anyone guess aunt Latoya ma been messing with Prince's hair!:cheeky::doh:

Probably it hasn't wrap around them kids' heads yet,
but
somewhere in the future
now that the big trial is behind them,
they're gonna be in the spotlight far more they can fathom.

The fans love them, the public can't keep them off the radar
for their own
consumption of half facination and half curiousity.

The estate probably need to file a restraining order for Aunt TOY to keep away 10 m from their HAIR and wardrobe!

They'd better start looking for a stylist/ grooming specialist /image consultant ...and I don't mean the delusional KF.

Prince better stay away from those KFC!...a thin line between out-growing puppy fat or
rolling around you into adulthood.
And Blanket still need time to grow out of his shyness!

Prince's hair, yes I have thought that for awhile.

Paula cuddling up to Katherine, least I say the better.

I have only watched the beginning part of the show, I have it recorded so will try and watch it later. I hate how everything seem to make me angry these days, but word to Marlon, this was MICHAEL JACKSON WEEK, nice of you to thank everyone for honoring your family, jackson 5, The Jacksons and oh yeah Michael. This was NOT about you, this was about MICHAEL, just because you are brothers and just because he is not here does not mean it becomes about you, you have not morphed into him in his absence. His success is not for the taking.

Yes I agree, it is interesting that Jermaine and Randy are nowhere to be seen on these functions.

Really nice to see John Branca there with Katherine, lets hope it's a move in the right direction.

Did anyone ever seen photo of John McClain? I was wondering how he looks like. We've seen John Branca million times but I've never seen McClain.

The only song that was sung respectably was Earth Song. It's funny but not too long ago in one of these shows, somebody sang Earth Song, and one of the judges didn't like the song choice because they didn't think Earth song was a known song or something like that.
I believe it was Haley Rappaport. And she didn't sing it well at all.

For the first time, "The X Factor" U.S. was the No. 1 U.S. TV show of the night in total viewers, for the episode that Fox televised in the U.S. on November 30, 2011. The ratings victory was no doubt helped by the episode's "Michael Jackson Week" theme in which the Top 7 finalists did songs originally performed by Michael Jackson when he was a solo artist or when he was a member of the Jackson 5/The Jacksons.
Members of the Jackson family (Michael's mother, Michael's three children and three of his brothers) attended the show and were prominently featured in the telecast.
According to overnight ratings provided by Nielsen Media Research, the 90-minute episode had 10.93 million U.S. viewers, narrowly surpassing CBS's "Survivor," which came in second place with 10.92 million U.S. viewers. The final ratings may have slight adjustments to these numbers.

ABC's "Modern Family" and CBS's "Criminal Minds," which are usually No. 1 and No. 2 in the U.S. on Wednesday nights, had repeat episodes this week and therefore hovered in the middle of the rankings, with about 7 million U.S. viewers each for "Modern Family" and "Criminal Minds." When these two shows have new episodes, they usually have higher ratings than the competition.

[UPDATE: The final ratings are now official, and "The X Factor" U.S. got 11.05 million U.S. viewers for this episode. "Survivor" also had 11.05 million viewers, but "The X Factor" was ranked higher since "The X Factor" was tops with 18-to-49-year-olds (3.7 rating/10 share, compared to Survivor," which got a 3.1 rating/9 share with 18-to-49-year-olds. NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was in third place for the night, with 9.9 million U.S. viewers.]
"The X Factor" U.S. is usually the No. 3-rated prime-time network show of the night every time it airs in the U.S., although the show is often No. 1 among 18-to-49-year-olds, which is the most coveted demographic for advertisers.
The highest-rated "X Factor" U.S. episodes so far have been the show's first two episodes (which Fox televised on September 21 and September 22, 2011), which got 12.5 million U.S. viewers each.
The lowest-rated "X Factor" U.S. episode to far was the episode that aired on November 23, 2011 (Thanksgiving Week), which got 8.5 million U.S. viewers.

I can't believe someone is talking about the kids hair? and weight gain? Get a grip. How do you think MJ would feel about his children being judged like that? MJ spent his whole life being judged and scrutinised and he clearly didn't want his children to have to suffer through the same thing, and of all people MJ fans should know that.

Blame LaToya all you like, but it's MJs own fans that should be kept away from HIS family.

Marlon has always known to be jealous so don't bother with his attitude, if fronting like this was about him or his family makes him feel better about his own self, then let him, people hardly know who the heck he is.

^ Credited Songwriter/Composers are: EDMONDS KENNETH B (aka Babyface), JACKSON JERMAINE, LOPES LISA NICOLE, REID ANTONIO M (aka L.A. Reid) and SIMMONS DARYL L
Did it really take that many to write such a crappy song? Ouch how embrassing that they even came up with such utter ish. Anywho nice tribute to MJ again by the X factor for MITM. Drew and Melanie were the best on MITM. But, it was sad to see Astro go, I think he was the best and Melanie was second IMO. Only because I think she didn't sing enough of the lyrics and she was lil load for me lol Atro was the only one not really doing karaoke he had his own lyrics which I liked. Poor Drew though great voice but, Simon screwed her with his advice to have her sit down on BJ? O_O What was he thinkin? SMH

And WOW that MJ made X Factor NO.1 for the first time in the US. Go Mikey, U will always be the best!

and what kind of an emergency and business a kid his age might have that requires to have that constantly in his ear?

It's Motown week on The X Factor UK tonight so I expect that someone will sing an MJ/Jackson 5 song.

It is in these types of shows or tribute shows that I realize how amazing and powerful Michael's voice is, not that I didn't know this before, but it really hits you how really amazing his voice is more than ever. Sometimes, at least for me, I'm so used to his voice that in a way you take it for granted, but wow NOBODY can sing like him!

Tonight on X Factor UK: Marcus will sing Can You Feel It and My Girl.

Can You Feel It isn't motown though....not that i'm complaining about an MJ/Jacksons song being sung.

One of the contestants' songs has to be Motown, the other can be anything they want.

So marcus did song ' can you feel it' as expected. Started off a bit ropey but got better toward the end. During one of the video segments they played 'PYT' but it wasn't mj. Does anybody know who has covered it?

Yes i was wondering who was singing that, it sounded like quite a good cover you know, i'd be a interested to hear it :)

RIP berry gordy (inside joke for uk x factor viewers!)

Only watched the first 10mins or so of the us xfactor programme and bits on the youtube of the family as i'm not keen on mj covers, agree with tricia - just makes you realise what a loss mj is, but what irked me was the introd that they did for mj and they put up on the screen he sold 750million albums. And then they put up that he sold 70m of thriller. So anyone watching would think what were the other 9 albums mj did which sold 70m each? The prog was produced by a sony company so it was a silly mistake to make. I'm assuming they mean units ie albums, singles, downloads, ringtones etc etc, so they could have just said records to make sound believable.

I'm not from the U.K but I still don't have a clue. Lol.

Just an embarrassing gaffe from the oldest and most experienced uk x factor judge (louis walsh, manages boy bands) during motown week, when he said after a contestant's performance that, berry gordy, if he was still alive, would have loved that!' I'm pretty sure simon cowell if he had been on the uk show wd have been all over him for that comment.
