Thriller finally #1 in Norway!!!!!

I just want to mention that today it´s clear that the Thriller album for the very first time is number 1 in Norway. For some strange reason, although it hit number one almost everywhere else, in 82´ it didn´t manage to hit the top spot up here. But today, Ladies & Gentlemen, it has all changed and this is brilliant news. It debuted last week at number 2 and then I honestly thought that it wouldn´t hit number one this time either, but I am happy to be mistaken.

thanks for positing.. I also see Garth Brooks in the top 5...and he is on Sony/ATV.. so ... double whammy for Mike..

It appears as if, Thriller is making history all over again. LOL!

I also notice that Janet's NEW joint comes in at #30 in Norway.

Haha, true :)

Since Thriller sells so well I guess it´s really promising before the release of the new album. That means that if the new music is good enough people will buy it.

for sure... for instance back there in the 1980s in Poland during communism there was the piracy in its bloom, you know....and now it's in Top5 legally:)

I wonder WHY it never made it to the top spot back in 82, but amaxing that it 25 years later can do it.

Thriller 25 must be the most successfull re-release ever!!

Thriller making history! wow! Imagine what the new MJ album will sell like!! Especially with the rest of today's crap music, Michael will have nothing to worry about!

I think it may have something to do with that at first the thriller video wasn't allowed in the country. I think that movie very good promotion for the album.

Yes, I think that is a good point. Norway is a strange country with many weird views in many ways, and the Thriller video was forbidden here. But I don´t think it was forbidden in Sweden and Denmark ( I don´t know this but I´m guessing).

In addition, just by looking at the Norwegian hit charts it´s pretty obvious that Norway has a very weird sense of music taste because there is a lot of crap on those charts. Okay, the album chart, which Thriller is topping, is pretty ok now but the single chart is usually mega crap.

BTW: In 1982 Thriller only managed #6 in Norway!!!!!!
