I have a couple of chapters left still. But I really love this book. :heart: It is so touching and heartbreaking and some parts of it made me cry. :boohoo: It contains so much wisdom about different aspects of human nature, both good and bad. And I love the fact that it´s described through a child´s perspective. I can understand why Michael loved the movie so much, if it is similar to the book.

The movie is very impressive and touching and portrays the book characters perfectly. I saw the movie before I read the book. The movie touched me so hardly therefore I decided to read the book. I cry every time I saw this movie or read the book

. And understand why Michael loved this movie. The life, feelings and events through a child perspective let us understand the life differently and put aside prejudice. Every time I read this book I remember the song "With A Child's Heart" :boohoo:.

Been trying to find the dutch version for a while, but no luck. I can read it in english, but I find reading in Dutch more easy and it brings out the emotion better for me.

Yes, it also reminded me of With A Child´s Heart, a song which I´ve loved since I was a teenager. :heart:

One of my favorite quotes from the book was: I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.

I´m also planning to see the movie at some point. Hope it is as good as the book. I remember reading somewhere that Michael got strength from watching the movie during the trial.

Ribbentrop by Michael Bloch. It's a biography of German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. Written in 1992, it is considered to be the best biography on him in modern times. He was an interesting character, albeit not too bright nor too useful when it came to making lasting foreign policy that would serve to Germany's convenience. He was hated by pretty much about everyone. Like I said, interesting stuff.

On the side, I am reading Tribute to Freud by Hilda Doolittle. That book is also very interesting.

It is with regret that I express the fact that, once college begins again on Thursday, much of my progress will be halted.
