But then you would probably have the same conditions placed on joining as for the michaeljackson.com site, that they own anything you post.

I do think that they will probably try to build that up as a fan site though. If I could ever actually get into it I would be able to tell more. lol

I hear ya, but I wouldn't mind Sony owning what I say...I'd say a lot of things - all positive towards Michael. He needs to get as much positive vibes from there as well as here as possible...it's just all been TOO negative lately..

I hear you. I am generally positive as well but I don't like the idea of someone being able to use what I say without my permission. I think it would be a damper to a forum like this.

You actually think they would be that "Big Brother"-ish to us? I don't think so...but then again my family DID used to call me "Pollyanna"...I just dont think they would be like that..although I hope that they do, only for the haters...

Great site! I am surprised so many of you are having probs! Mine worked pretty much straight away. I gave them my yahoo email add. and two seconds later had a confirmation and was able to do stuff on my account.
Hope they sort it out for you soon otherwise I might post something on there telling them that peeps are having probs (hopefully someone will read it and sort it out).

Well I wish you would say something. It was last night that I tried with two different e-mail addresses and nothing so I do not expect to be able to get in. It sounds like it is the same for a lot of people.

I am gonna post something there and see what happens (will also add that fans from MJJC have been having the probs so maybe they might want to pop round here or something). Hope it works!

I signed up last night and have still yet to receive a confirmation e-mail from the site......obviously something is wrong.

Why there's no stated that the copyright of the site owns Sony..? The domain is Sony's, but why there's so little saying about Sony?

I like how there's Invincible and Dangerous on the same page, that they didn't put albums timelined.. :)

I went on it before, it's awesome. At least someone is finally doing something to that site.

MJ's biography on Sony-BMG site said:
...
Invincible debuted at number one and quickly went double platinum; however, its initial singles, "You Rock My World" and "Butterflies," had rather disappointing showings on the charts, with the latter not even reaching the Top Ten. To compound matters, the expensive "What More Can I Give" single and video were canceled by Sony when executive producer Marc Schaffel was revealed to work in pornography. Jackson's camp tried to distance the singer from Schaffel, and the various corporations that were attached to it (McDonalds, Sony) claimed they had minimal involvement if any with the song. Sony and Jackson began a press war in the summer of 2002, starting with Jackson's claims that the label asked for 200 million dollars to pay them back for marketing costs. Although they had spent 55 million on his disappointing comeback, Sony released a statement saying that no such request had ever been made. Jackson stewed for a few weeks before launching a press attack on Sony Music chairman Tommy Mottola, calling him "devilish" and making claims that he used racist language and held down black artists. Many Sony artists, including Mariah Carey and Ricky Martin, defended Mottola, but Jackson and his family maintained that racism ended their professional relationship.
From that point, Jackson's career took an extreme turn toward the bizarre, starting with MTV's annual Video Awards. When Britney Spears presented him with a birthday cake, an offhand remark about being the artist of the millennium inspired a rambling Jackson to accept a meaningless trophy (which everyone presenting on-stage received) as an actual Artist of the Millennium award. Next came accusations from a promotional company over his promises of a tour and several appearances that he then canceled. Jackson arrived in court late, gave a drowsy testimony, and inspired gasps when he removed a surgical mask to reveal his nose had caved in from a botched cosmetic surgery. Only days later, German fans were horrified when Jackson came to the balcony of his hotel suite and briefly dangled his 11-month old baby Prince Michael II (nicknamed "Blanket" by Jackson) over the edge with one arm. Although he apologized the next day, claiming he had gotten caught up in the moment, this only did more to cement the King of Pop's public image as an out-of-control millionaire. 2003 turned out to not be Jackson's year as in November his Neverland Ranch was extensively searched by police, whereby he was subsequently arrested on charges of child molestation. That same month the single disc retrospective Number Ones hit the stands with one new song, "One More Chance". A year later - nearly to the day - the four CD and one DVD box set The Ultimate Collection appeared with numerous rarities including the original demo for "We Are the World". In January 2005 his child molestation trial began and by May he was acquitted on all counts. Jackson soon relocated to the Persian Gulf island of Bahrain and began working on new music including a charity single that would benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. The single never appeared but the two disc The Essential Michael Jackson did and in 2006 the strange box set Visionary was released featuring 20 DualDiscs replicating 20 big hit singles with their videos included on the DVD side. In early 2007 it was announced that a comeback album was planned for late in the year. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

This tabloid "biography" is kept everywhere for many years and I absolutely have no idea why Ms.Bain's staff never could do anything about such a slandering, mostly false piece.

I would never recommend anyone interested come to www.MichaelJackson.com, because all they will know about Jackson is pile of nonsense rehash of malicious tabloid, RF's and overall media slander.

Ok...I don't get it, every time I try to sign up there's a message box that comes up and it reads.."error! you must be at least 13 years of age to sign up." Now, I don't know if that's a error on the boards behalf or what..I don't get it. can some one help me..please?

Yeah, it's kinda "how-the-media-saw-it" biography and actually they know so little. But whoever reads that biography, I have to say that still does not move the person's eyes away from Michael but just opposite. And when someone gets more interested and finds out what's right what's wrong, mostly they will defend Michael..

Just look at Youtube how it's waiting for Michael's new album, Michael has still a huge fanbase and that only matters.

Are you over 13 then?

Topflux: yes, You are right - Sony-BMG actually promotes through www.michaeljackson.com "I was tabloid coloumn reader so now I am "music biographer" (though there is almost nothing about music anyway, but who cares)"

There is two-digit count of lies in the "biography". If Michael would himself more active internet surfer then he would read that piece and made things to change. ITunes Music Store keeps the same "biography", too.

The only place where things could me *somewhat* clearer is here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson

Also that crapy biography says he was aquited in maj. It was june.
So many obvious mistakes, why would they ever put that S### on his official website??

Yes I'm over 13 but that's not the point, the problem I'm Having is that every time I go through all the steps and then click on the tab it goes back to that message about having to be 13 to join and It's not putting me through it's frustrating. That's all.

That is really bazaar. I know what you mean by frustrated. Like I said earlier it is like the computers are getting together and messin' with us.

SunsetDriver should offer his services. Look how many people we are registering here today successfully. It seems Sony needs some help from the 'amateurs' sic.

I registered myself in yesterday morning, but I still haven't got the confirmation email yet..

What internet browser are you using? It worked fine for me in Safari. I also tried it in Firefox, Opera and Camino to see if it was a browser problem. All worked fine except I didn't get up to the stage where they say they'll send a confirmation email to you because I didn't want to create more than one account. The only browser I haven't tried is Internet Explorer. But that would mean restarting my computer in Windows Vista and I can be bothered right now. If your using Safari, Firefox, Opera or Camino, it's not a browser problem.

Worth trying. I think I'ma do it right now

I tried to register with the same username I did yesterday and it said it's already taken, so at least something has happened. I so believe they've sent the confirmation email via message-in-a-bottle (expect it to arrive somewhere 2050) :p:lol:
