T25 enters UK chart at NUMBER #3!! - Listen Live to BBC Radio 1's Chart Show now!

we have failed as fans to get this to no 1. i can afford to buy many thousands of copies, but instead i will spend my money on myself. i don't believe i valued my consumption ahead of michael's achievements. who cares if we manipulate sales figures to render them worthless? he will be very disappointed in us all. i hate myself.

Always has to be one with negativity

Number 3 is awesome... Look how many copies this album has sold world wide already in 25 years and it's now back in the charts at number 3 :punk:

Re: T25 enters UK chart at 4. TGIM slips to 40.

ooo the excitement. we already have #4 in Ireland, #2 in Australia and an estimated top 5 in USA.. for the week WORLDWIDE surely thats #1,,,

IS THERE A WORLDWIDE SALES CHART??

How could he be number one worldwide, when on most of these charts this Jack Johnson is number one? It appears that Jack Johnson has sold the most records around the world. Maybe more Jackson appearances would have helped his cause. Surely, we'll see more of Jackson when the new cd is ready for promotion.

Number 3 is excellent for a re-released album that nearly everyone has. Number Ones was a huge seller in the UK as well. That's a great achievement.

Michael entered in the Irish Charts at Number 5 which is brilliant.

Wow. I was going to rib that the US (us haters) is going to chart it higher but guess I better not. I don't want to push you over the edge dude/dudette. It isn't that serious. It would have been nice to see it chart number one around the world but not because fans bought 100 copies apiece. This is more about getting the younger generation's (and Sony's) attention and it charted high enough to do that for sure.

Can't figure out why fans would expect this album to be number one all around the world. Are you people for real?? I should know better for asking that question.

Don't mind them. They were being sarcastic, taking a backhanded swipe at fans who were enthusiastically buying the cd. Noticed how they joined the board to tell us that.

Ahhhh. Thanks Datsy. I wasn't paying enough attention to catch it. I was getting a little worried there. lol

Woo Hooo! That is brilliant news! No. 3 is fab..this is a 25 year old album..songs that you would think people even the average joe would have in their collection already...but yet it sold like hot cakes!

Joy for Mike!!

Michael is at Number 3? Nice one Michael!

Excellent news!

I know, right? The fact an old-ass album could still chart in the top 5 some 25 years later after its initial releases (with REMIXES that are an ACQUIRED taste for SOME) is REMARKABLE.

Failure my ass.

You can't be serious. Actually it doesn't help that much if someone buys 10 or 20 copies because most of the people buy just one, so it's just the amount of buyers that really matter...

And btw most of the chart performances are based on sales for fans. If you reach like TOP10 you just have to have LOTS of fans. Just imagine how many other COMPLETELY NEW, "EXCITING" releases there were at the same week and Michael beated them all!! To debut as #3 would be huge for anyone and with an old album that's even huger to me. It's not even "Greatest Hits" but the re-release of an old studio album with some extras. That IS completely AMAZING!!

I was slightly disappointed at number 3

BUT after thinking about it

Its the best selling album ever, so alot of fans/people have it

So its much harder to sell

Maybe with more promo and a few appearances it would have done better

Looks good for the new album

damn, i thought this was a silly idea at first but i'm very happily surprised by its success.

ingenious of Mike and/or Sony to do this before releasing a new album.

they would be even cleverer to release it soon, mind you.

I think it has been doing very well. And doing well in many different countries as it seems.

i got 3 copys the other day in stratford when i was visiting my g.f i got both covers and the delux along with the girl is mine single i was really hopeing for a number 1 spot

I must tell the truth. I feel a little disappointed because I feel that there wasn't enough cds in the shops for the people that wanted them 'Sold out' don't add up to numbers. The shops should have been better stocked. I worry about the US charts because of it.
And don't NOBODY come here to scold me for not being satisfied. 'It's my party and I cry if I want to'.

Just getting a re-release in the top 10 is phenominal
no complaints - and no one has failed Plus you mis-represent
Michael by saying he would be disapointed in us. I dont get
your post at all - we should be celebration - this is wonderful
This is a re-release of Thriller not a NEW Album -TOP 10 is
considered very successeful and #3 almost unheard of for a
re-release ...

Im very exited to see how well it does in the US charts

Dont worry be Happy :)

This poster was being sarcastic. It was a subtle attack on the fans who were excited about the charts. In another thread he just ask where he can download covers for his bootleg albums. I think this person my be a troll.^_^

3 is good, since the most people have thriller. I didnt buy it

i didn't buy it either, mj hasn't put much hard work into this release and as for personal promotion, its laughable.

hence why the girl is mine 2008 didn't do well....

I havent bought it yet either but I will now, before i thought about waiting before I did, should be cool

the good thing is, not that it got to number 3 but that it was "SELLING OUT" that alone speaks volumes then any number can ever do

was in my local wollies today and they were playing 25. unfortunalty i went in when they were playing the BJ remix lol

I think Michael and Sony did an excellent job..

Well done to them.. in making a 25 year old album relevant again...
