Hi iam 28 years old and i have always knew Michael Jackson was around since i was born but it was his "2001 comeback" that made me a fan. Is anyone a fan like me sinc 2001? What makes someone discover his music?

everyone listened to his music back in my childhood (i'm born 1986), but when i was 14/15 i kinda rediscovered his music and began to enjoy it again. luckily, 2001 invincible was released and turned me into a die-hard michael jackson fan :) let's not say die-hard, but i really love his music and follow all the news etc around him with interest.

I was a fan before Invincible. I noticed Michael when I was around 8 years old (I am 17 now), cause my brother introduced me to his music. Everyone knows who Michael Jackson is, you almost get it with your mothers milk. lol :p but I think it's when you read something, you see some videos and hear a few songs (not only Billie Jean and Beat it), and then you're hooked. It's just something about him that makes people love him and find him very interesting :)

Yeah im a fan since 2001. Before i didn't know so much about him, he was mystic i thought with his curly hair. Is he a girl or a woman? Now I know more about who he is, and that he don't look so bad that the media trying to portray him as.

I have also learned that they choose the worst picture of him, which almost got me to not became a fan, but his music was so good I couldn't stop listening to it. Now I know Michael Jackson is cool inside and out.

He has been a part of my life since I can remember. However, it was in 2001 that I actually began to appreciate Michael Jackson's music. The events of that year saw me looking to Michael and his beautiful fans for strength. It was with the support of his music and the memories that were etched in each song that kept me going. Many of the members of MJJF/MJJC are a part of those memories. Since then, new memories have been created and I now proudly proclaim myself a Michael Jackson Fan.

I am a 2003 baby. I watched LWMJ just out of curiosity. I just wanted to see how the other half lived. I found myself loving every minute of it., I captured the 2nd docu that we were never meant to see on video and found myself watching it over and over and over again. I had never done that to adocumentary before. I wanted to learn more about this man, so I went out and bought his records, my first dvd player and a walkman, all at the same time. I was hooked, I have been here ever since.

it's always nice to see threads and posts like this, after i've had my fill of 'Invincible' naysayers.

I am a fan since Invincible. I discovered Invincible then all the other albums, and later unreleased songs etc...

I've been a fan since the 1993 allegations (I was six). I was a little child that wanted to help the man on tv singing my favourite song at the time, Will You Be There! I wrote to him during the trial, I can't remember what I said in the letter but I hope it made him feel better!!

I've been a fan since 1996...lol BOTDF days. But i didn't become a fan because of BOTDF, I became a fan after seeing the HBO Concert my sister taped. And i was hooked for life INSTANTLY. I was like 9 then.

been a fan since thriller days(I was 6 when I first saw Michael on tv) 25 years this year. Im always interested to hear how new fans discovered him as he is not "cool" or "popular" now as he was when I was growing up. Back then, especially during BAD era it was alot easier to be a fan. I really admire anyone who has discovered him in the last few years as you have had to dig deep behind the curtain of lies and media misrepresentation to discover what we have loved all these years.

I like these kind of threads too, because Im always intrested to read how people have became fans :) And every story is always a unique, I mean there are as many stories of how I became a fan as there are fans :)

I've been a fan since 1996, thanks to World Music Awards :flowers:

I've been a fan since forever. Invincible only intensified my fandom. I saw and heard Michael with more interesting eyes and ears. It was a rebirth of who I knew he always was to me.

It was like a blessing because I had not focused much on his music for a while and when he came out with Invincible I was locked in once again and this time it was for life. It was meant to be because I had to be there as a supporters for the coming hell storm. I was very happy to have his back.:punk:

im in the 2001 club. that tv special is something that worked like MAGIC. made all kinds of kids totally DIG mj!!! The reaction at skool the day after it aired was incredible!

something like that again now. OMG. it would do WONDERS!

I like hearing these stories of new fans being hooked. I've been a fan since Dangerous - was about 8 or so when the Black or White short film did me in.

Some nice stories in here :). I always find it suprising when people say that they became fans in the 00's. I mean with all the bad publicity surrounding Michael and everyhing it's just something you wouldn't expect for him to attract new fans, but that's the power of Michael and his music I suppose :D.

What made me tick was his uniqueness in music. His style to defy the norms of manhood. If any of us guys did that they'd call us(or used to) gay lol.

Around History my dad bought me his History and Thriller album. I was hooked! Then false rumors that he dressed like the Messiah turned me away. Once I found out the truth, I learned the other guy protesting was drunk. Because of the swearing on the B-side of the album, I got turned off again.

One day, we were chomping on popcorn waiting for the show at the movie theater. When Movietunes announced "here's the tract to Michael Jackson's latest single 'You Rock My World'"! I was impressed.

My dad bought me Invincible. At first I was like "what are you doing now"! As I listened. It grew on me till I was once again hooked on Michael Jackson!!!

I am apart of the 2006 club. What happened was, in 2006 I was 10. So, me and my friend were talking about Michael Jackson, the weird dude. In 2003, I was 7, I was really scared of him. I saw his mugshot and was turned away forever, for like 3 weeks I couldn't even go to the bathroom alone  I was really scared of his face. By 2005, I still didn't know what he was going to trial for. Then I understood by 2006. So my friend was making fun of him, and even though I was scared of him before, I said, "Wasn't he aquitted?" and the kid goes "...no he's in jail!" I was like AWW HELL NAW cuz I remembered watching it on TV of him being free. So I looked him up on youtube, which was like 2 weeks before summer, school about to end. I LOVED EVERYTHING! THE WHOLE SUMMER WAS ALL MICHAEL! I sat at my computer just looking at everything, music videos, albums, singles, all of his music, dance skills, acting skills, short-films, performances... concerts... loads and loads! I was obsessed with 'The Way You Make Me Feel', I still am. I converted the kid to liking him, cuz we both REALLY loved his music. Then over the summer he starts to hate him  And I just said, "your lost". That was that. So now it is 2008, and I am a 12 year old boy (MAN!) and I continue to enjoy his work. I still have A LOT more stuff to dig up about him. A LOT of songs, performances, tours, concerts ETC. Especially interviews. I still felt he was ugly in 2006. Then 2007 came around, and I heard about Ebony! Ran STRAIGHT out to my store, got Ebony, and I LOVED IT! The interview, the pictures, and he looked REALLY good  So, that's my story :flowers:!

You don't sound like a 12yr old boy! you seem very mature, i love to see that kind of well-written stuff on the board from the fans,!
