Now that is something. Only 'Sleep Through the Static' and 'Little Voice' are still in the top ten with Thriller 25 so you would think you will see it move up. Especially since it is holding steady or still climbing. Facinating. I am really happy for Michael.

I log on every day cause I'm bored, lol. I don't expect anything, but if something exciting happens, then I get a big, dumb grin on my face and then talk my brothers ear off about it for the rest of the night, ack. He's gonna kill me someday, lol.

Raises hand. And I dooo have to get out of this mode! I got stufffffff to do. The check on the album, tour, whatever, is the hook and then it is all over because I didn't get my fix. I am better off not going on in the first place and that should probably be my strategy ... only once a week or something but then, I might miss the announcement

I log-on just to see what's happening, I don't really expect anything major from Michael at least not at this moment. However, just being able to talk to you all is a joy and especially when the member pics are posted. I love seeing everyone. Some day I'll get around to posting mine....mind you I did say someday...ha ha. ^_^
Being able to have interesting and stimulating conversation with folks who share the same interests and intellect as you is rewarding in itself.

Of course I enjoy the members here very much as well. I love the idea of such a diverse community coming together. Besides, I have fun kidding around on here. It is sort of a release from more grueling stuff.Ha ha.

Way cool. Thanks to both e_c and TSCM. There's that word again in regards to Michael. Everyone always describes him using the word nice. It's because he really is genuinly so.

US Magazine has a section called "Just Like Us!" that showcases celebrities who are unwittingly photographed doing chores readers recognize from their own, less glamorous existences. "Britney carries groceries!" "J-Lo changes diapers!"
We all know that by dint of their fame and fortune, these stars are nothing like us at all. Here's another way some stars are different: They're inventors, too. When they're not at center stage, screen or limelight, they're inventing things and getting patents on the handiwork.
Some celebrities enjoy a reputation as being cerebral, and the fact that they hold patents should come as little surprise. Take astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to set foot on the moon, who holds several patents related to space travel. Less anticipated are celebrities in the mold of Neil Young, who moonlights as a model train inventor and enthusiast (Unknown Legend, indeed).
Even as their inventions distinguish stars all the more, they provide some important lessons for the would-be inventor in everyone.
•Score by playing defense. At their core, patents are a defensive mechanism. They prevent other people from doing what you are doing, at least for a limited time. Large, technology-based corporations such as IBM (IBM) know this well and amass huge patent portfolios to maintain their competitive advantage and keep competitors at bay. Apparently, Michael Jackson knows this, too.
In the music video and live performances for his hit Smooth Criminal, Jackson, while flanked by dancing mobsters, suddenly starts leaning at an impossible angle (demonstrated at the 3:50 point at www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wgS5PNTvgg). Many wondered, "Is it a camera trick?" Had Jackson unleashed another amazing dance move, on par with the Moonwalk? Turns out, it was the shoes.
Jackson patented a "method and means for creating [an] anti-gravity illusion." The simple but ingenious idea underlying the dance move is to have the dancer wear special shoes with a slot in each heel. The stage has a small knob that fits in the slot when the shoe slides over it, much like a chain-door lock. The dancer is then effectively mounted to the floor and can lean at angles that are not otherwise physically possible (if you watch closely in the video referenced above, the dancer on the far right of the screen gets his heel stuck while removing his shoe after performing the patented maneuver).
The value of Jackson's patent was not in the potential sales of his gravity defying shoes. Rather, the value to Jackson was that no one could perform the same move in the same way until the patent expired. In other words, he used the patent defensively to prevent others from performing one of his signature dance moves. History seems to have proven this true as the dance move remains closely associated with him.

I'm lovin that MJ was no 5 in the charts this week and I went to that big assed music store "sanity" in the basement at Myers in Melbourne and there was a HUGE!!! MJ Thriller 25 promo Poster and all the MJ cds are on sale and I saw 2 people buy an MJ product whilst I was wandering around... you know looking all casual like...
... you know just minding my own business....
I saw one young lady snap up a copy of Thriller 25... I winked at her but she gave me a scared look... was probably the magnifying glass so I pretended I had dust in my eye :innocent:
Then I saw a guy grab a copy of Badunk:
I was like :wild: this is fun!
then I went into some random shop to look at random items (as you do) and they played Beat It 08 on the radio

Nice words but, honestly, this is why I want Michael to work with somebody more like Quincy. All these young guys are simply too in awe of him. Rodney Jerkins even admitted that he couldn't bring himself to say no to Michael, which is understandable, but probably hurt Invincible. Michael is a genius, but even he benefits from the vision and direction of a brilliant producer who dares put his foot down once in a while. What Quincy brought to the albums (among other things) was a sense of cohesiveness, that the songs fit together. I don't think any MJ album since has had the same feeling, although many of the songs have been as good as or better than the songs on his albums with Quincy. History is a good example of this.

it's always nice to see that we as the fans know what's up. i'm sure that if i were to ask folks in las vegas if i could bet on whether the media will be right about doom reports about MJ once the day arrives...las vegas would NEVER let me, cus they know i'd win, cus they know MJ is never in the type of trouble the media describes. they're just jealous. non fans wouldn't want to take up the bet with me either for the same reason. they know...but they just don't want to admit it.

The one thing I am hoping is that Will I Am was on the mark when he said that the new album will be OTW for a new generation. Cause if this new album sounds anything like OTW, that means that we are about to get classic Michael in updated form. We are about to get some serious melodies outta Michael. Michael is gonna take us back to some good music vibes. And that can only be a good thing.
I mean all I have ever wanted was "I Wanna Rock With You" Michael back! I don't want Michael to try and keep up with what is out there today. And I don't think the public wants that either.

The Quincy era is over, as fans of MJ TODAY you can enjoy those golden albums but to continue to cry over Quincy is a mute point Michael will work with who he enjoys working with NOW, not remain in the past.
