If Michael does not put out a new album

All the people who think Michael isn't working on a new album are going to be really surprised when it comes out. Including the haters.

We already know in our hearts the Mike is working on "something" new. What all that will detail . . .? Whatever that "something" is, you know it is gonna be off the hook! Something innovative and exciting. . . we hope :-. I think the world is waiting for him to return and revitalize the music industry as a whole again. I will boost national economies and put smiles on peoples faces all over the world again. Whew!!! That is a big responsibility.

I actually think Mike is waiting on a totally new way of distribution for his music. He has already said in the Ebony interview that he doesn't think many of the new marketing strategies are working for anybody right now. I think that once he perfects a new distribution/marketing tool to distribute his new music on, he will then leash himself on the world again and we all will be smiling so hard, our faces will hurt for days, weeks, months and years to come!

Ticie,
The JACKSONOLOGIST

^ I just wanted to say that if MJ is looking for new ways to distribute his music he is silly. His digital sales of T25 were pathetic yet it sold INCREDIBLY well!!! What does that leave? PHYSICAL CD SALES! People wanna go in and buy the MJ album. Its not just a CD, when its MJ, its a collectors item too lol.

Haha, I agree, Damien. I rather have it in a CD. If he can have a sonic-sounding CD like "T25" is, he can do the same for a new album.

CD + DVD this is the way to go IMO

Bah!! He'll put out a new album...but he needs to produce a tangible thing like a CD. Most still are not on Napster or Itunes...however, if he hits BOTH markets, the CD sales AND the internet downloadables...it would be great.

But Michael isn't 25, 35 anymore, he's turning 50! I don't think it's old but it's not young either... If he brought out a new album today it wouldn't be the same as in I can't see him putting in the whole WOW affect he put in with previous albums before Invincible eg; The army of police following him, the costumes, the statues, the tours, everything! That's why Invincible didn't seem like a MICHAEL JACKSON album/era, it was lacking all of that "aura" and that "wow" factor!

Invincible was boring & I'm being honest, it blended in with all the other albums out which is something that never happens with Michael Jackson. His heart wasn't in it and I don't want him to make the same mistake twice; to just bring out an album cause everyone else wants one! I'd rather him retire with dignity to be honest.
Was it Michael's heart that wasn't in it or was it YOUR heart wasn't in it. How do you know mJ's heart wasn't in it? Did he tell you that? If MJ's heart was in his project and you talk his work down, that would be very much and insult and a sense of rejection for MJ. If MJ put his heart and soul in Invincible and have people speak so negatively of it, then is it any wonder he may be reluctant to bring anymore of his work out:eek:
I can understand it if you don't like the album cause it wasn't your cup of tea, but just because YOU do not like it shouldn't give you the right to condemn the mans's project and declare that his heart was not in it. That is very bad for moral. What if MJ thought he gave everything to this project and hear you speak so ill of it. Where is the inspiration or the motivation to do anymore work.
For the record, I adore Invincible.

You went over the top there tbh. Releasing music at his pace isnt alot within a 40yr career he meant???

Hes released how many albums in nearly 30 years? OTW, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, Invincible. 6 isnt that much tbh
You are lucky you got 6, many of his brothers retired after the group dismantled. MJ could easily have retired after Off The Wall. Then you would have had only ONE:D

^ hahahahahaha

true. actually i'll give them some slack. MJ probably would have made thriller after OTW. But after THRILLER, definitely, he could have retired. So we'd only have 2 out of 6 lol

I also LOVE Invincible! It is one of my favorites MJ albums. If Invincible got the proper exposure then many people would have different opinion about it. IMO In addition to the problem with Tommy Mottola it was also 9/11 and many people were listing to country and national music at that time during the crisis.

Invincible is an amazing album IMO

It really is. I wish more people could appreciate it. It really is a highly valuable and meaningful album, the first one during his fatherhood as well.

Some people won't listen to it or choose not to like it because of the prejudice it didn't sell well (it did, though, even without promotion) and was practically overlooked by many. So I believe the way the album was negatively tagged influenced similar attitudes, sadly, being a catalyst for them.

ppl s opinnions on vince would probably be very different if the whole mottola thing hadnt happened its hard to compair and an album and songs to to other albums that had many videos and single release and performances and tours etc. it puts songs into totally different lights when you get those things. all you get when u listend to vince is thinking what might have been and all that waiting for it all to be thrown down the drain by mottola

People need to learn to use their own imagination and creative juices. :p

Invincible is definitely invincible. The name is very fitting. This CD held its own. It sold itself. Only MJ could have success with an album that only had one video, hardly no promotion and went through turmoil.

Also, if people thought Thriller25 sold out fast, watch what happens when this brand new album comes out. It's going to leave the shelves quicker than quick.

I haven't read this entire thread, but my opinion about the "what if" should be irrelevant because he IS putting out a new album.

I would like to know how much Invincible sold so far? There are some mixed reports on the Internet, some say 10 mil and other almost 20 mil, which one is most accurate?

Either way, it is an excellent result. MJ's worse in terms of sale is what the biggest act today would dream of.:D

sony said 11 mill as of mid 2002. 20 is totally false. history sold that amount and look at the life the album had compaired to vince

Maybe not up to MJ’s standards but I think 11 mil is not a flop especially considering the album was not properly promoted and the events that came afterwards so I believe it is a success, it also reached #1 AFAIK…

I think whenever Michael release a new album the public start buying his older albums as well, I think Invincible can make a big comeback especially if it was included in a new world tour.

I also agree with you Datsymay it doesn’t make a difference it is an excellent album despite whatever sales results.

:)

Please correct me if I am wrong, is there something about the music industry I am just curious why that album sales (in general) decrease every year? People don’t like to listen to music anymore? Piracy?..?? Such reasons could force Michael to delay his new album??

downloads, piracy and there been no real big stars anymore.no reason to delay anything nothing is gonna change by waiting 6 months
