i'm with the LAPD on this one, they should be involved amd murray should be handcuffed like any other person accused of killing someone would. murray should be made to feel uncomfortable and ashamed. if he just gets to stroll into court that sends a bad message, this crime is serious. i have no mercy for him.

I have no mercy for him either! Even if he's not the real murder, I know he has at least an IDEA of who it was that murdered Michael. But that, he is not telling us!!!

No, of course not.

But it's very important for his children, his mother, his family and everybody who loved him to know exactly what happened, that those responsible are punished, and that Michael is "officially" recognised as the victim.

I really hope we will eventually know what happened, whatever the truth is.

That is true!
Tho' I'm a lil' pessimistic about this cuz' you know how it is mostly...! You never get to know what and why it happened...! :(
But let's just hope that it's gonna be different this time...!

We must keep the faith!

In a world filled with dispair, we must still dare to hope.

We should watch out for WHO posts Murray's bail
That's a great point but I don't think we will find out where the money comes from if the lawyer does it... It could come from anywhere but since Murray himself was broke not that long ago, I really wonder about it.....

LAPD/D.A. Feud Derails Dr. Murray Arraignment
Posted Feb 4th 2010 10:20PM by TMZ Staff

The scheduled arraignment Friday for Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson will not take place as scheduled because of the feud between the L.A. County D.A. and the LAPD over Dr. Murray's surrender.

As we first reported, the LAPD was bent out of shape -- and that is an understatement -- because the D.A. had kept cops in the dark and had been working with Dr. Murray's lawyers to arrange a voluntary surrender in court at the time of the arraignment.

The plan as of this afternoon -- Dr. Murray's lawyers would drive him to the L.A. County Sheriff's Office at the Airport Courthouse in L.A. at 5:30 AM Friday, along with a bail bondsman. Dr. Murray would be booked, post bail and then walk into court without handcuffs or chains.

We're told the LAPD so vehemently objected to the plan ... the D.A. finally backed off. The LAPD wants to arrest Dr. Murray, book him and bring him into court in handcuffs and/or chains -- something that is fairly standard in homicide cases.

The plan has fallen apart and we're told ... as of now ... there will be no arraignment tomorrow.

It's starting out shaky, folks.

anyone else feel sick

Dunno about the TMZ story but Murray SHOULD be booked by the STANDARD PROCEDURE - which is handcuffs and all. Why should he be given special treatment? If someone in your neighborhood was going to be arrested for something like this they'd be handcuffed in a second.
I'm not saying treat him unfairly or hurt him - even though Michael was , as it wouldn't make any difference now, what happened happened.
But he should be booked by the standard procedure.
They give the reason that it would be humiliating ... guess what? Getting arrested period is humiliating for anyone, no matter who they are.
But if that's how it is and he has to accept it.

puff I wish they go ahead and arrest him already.

Oh God, I just hope this isn't a sign that we've got a D.A. who is feeling sympathetic towards Murray and/or willing to work out "deals" with him...

hm I dunno about the TMZ post all the other news agencies are running with comment by Murray's lawyer saying he will surrender in the morning, unless this was last minute I cannot understand why he would have not retracted the statement if what TMZ is saying is true.

Officials debate whether to allow Michael Jackson's doctor to surrender
Conrad Murray is prepared to turn himself in, his lawyer says, but police are concerned that allowing him to do so might give the appearance of special treatment.

With a criminal case against Michael Jackson's physician imminent, law enforcement agencies spent Thursday in backroom squabbles over whether to arrest the doctor or allow him to surrender, sources familiar with the discussions said.

No case has been filed against Dr. Conrad Murray, but the Los Angeles County district attorney's office is expected to charge him with involuntary manslaughter as early as Friday morning, two people involved in the matter said.

Murray is prepared to turn himself in to authorities, hand over his passport and put up bail money, his lawyer said.

"We've always made it clear: You tell us where, we'll be there," attorney Ed Chernoff said.

But some in the Los Angeles Police Department, which spent seven months building a case against the 56-year-old cardiologist, are pushing for him to be placed in handcuffs and taken into custody by officers, a departmental source said. The source said police were concerned that allowing Murray to walk into a police station or courthouse suggested to the public, including potential future jurors, that he was entitled to special treatment and was a "white-collar" case rather than a criminal accused of causing a man's death.

Publicly, the district attorney's office refused to address the issue.

"Nothing's been filed at this time, and making public statements on something that has not been filed would be silly," spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

Privately, however, a high-ranking official in the office said prosecutors believed that arresting Murray would amount to special treatment.

The official, who spoke on the condition that he not be named because the case was ongoing, noted that Murray does not have a criminal record and poses no danger to the public. The source said similarly situated defendants, including police officers accused of crimes, are commonly allowed to turn themselves in.

"This shouldn't be treated differently because it's a celebrity-related case," the official said.

Murray's lawyer says an arrest would be "a waste of time, money and resources."

"It would be plain silly to turn this into more of a show simply so the police can get their photo op," he said.

Murray and his defense team have met with bail bond companies in preparation for the charges, the lawyer said.

"We've had eight months to prepare," he said, referring to the criminal probe of Murray that began in the hours after Jackson's death on June 25.

Murray acknowledged giving propofol, a powerful anesthetic intended for use in operating rooms, to Jackson as a sleep aid on the morning of his death, according to court documents.

The coroner's department ruled the death a homicide and said it was caused by "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with the use of sedatives also administered by Murray.

Involuntary manslaughter, which applies to unlawful killing committed without malice or an intent to kill, carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

and who said the police officers do not receive special treatment ? For God's sake even if they were on tape killing someone or beating the hell out of a HUMAN BEING they get cleared and their friends within the legal system do everything possible to free them

I can't believe this is happening...this has never ever happened that I can remember here in the state of CA. UNBELIEVABLE. SOMEbody needs to get that man off the streets, NOW! F*u*$K#NG Ba!%ERd*&

Thank you, Sound.

I have been trying to say that they only go and arrest someone if they prove to be a flight risk or a danger to the public. Since Murray is neither, what will most likely happen is that they will put out a warrant and give Murray a time limit to turn himself in.

Sneddon did this to Michael. He was in Vegas when the warrant was put out and Sneddon gave Michael 24 hours to turn himself in. Which is why what happen at the airport was so bad. Michael flew in and was on his way to the police station. They didn't have to arrest him because he was already turning himself in.

If they do the same to Murray, it would have the same public outcry. Which is the last thing anyone here should want.

WTF! ughhh this is so aggravating

It seems like I will have enough time to learn the whole dancing of The Drill before something real happens. And I am still trying to remember the steps of Beat it. Go figure that...

:(

what public outcry are you talking about ? beside the fans everyone felt justice was served and MJ FINALLY faced the music

No one but us was outraged back then .

Everyone believes he had a hand in what happened . People who love MJ believe he should pay for killing him , others who are indefferinet believe he is responsible because he was an enabler , the only people who don't want to see him in handcuffs are the HATERS because they want to continue with their lies that MJ committed suicide or was a hell of a junkie and the poor doctor was a victim of him

Murray is apparently still practicing medicine. In my opinion, he's a risk to EVERY patient he treats. YES, he is a "risk to the public." Was MICHAEL a flight risk or a danger to the public? We all knew that he was not. . . . .

That Murray should be treated exactly the same under U.S. law as Michael was, is what probably 99.9 percent of people on this MICHAEL JACKSON board want. The handcuffs, and the "perp walk," are meant as a deterrent to future crimes. With that said, I actually hope Murray's arrest will be more private? He does not deserve to gain public sympathy for what he did. His was the LAST face our beloved Michael saw, in this life. The goal is JUSTICE, whatever that takes. Just that. . . justice for the taking of the life of the beautiful person Michael was. . . . . ENOUGH, already. . .

I'm with them on that one... That's exactly what I worry about.

Murray does not have a criminal record and poses no danger to the public.

Sorry to keep bringing Michael's arrest into this, but... ^^^ Smh.

Yano, Murray's lawyer is really starting to get to me with his "diplomatic" attitude...

"We've had eight months to prepare," he said, referring to the criminal probe of Murray that began in the hours after Jackson's death on June 25.

Caught! Just a few months ago, he was still saying that Murray was not being investigated or considered a suspect.

There was a public outcry, Sound.

When Michael was handcuff, the media may had gloated, but the general public was not impress. They were disgusted by the treatment and I know this because I saw it where I live and in other areas. Even people who didn't like Michael and thought that he may be guilty were upset, specially in the African-American community. That was one of the reasons the jury came back with an innocent verdict because they saw that the DA had it in for Michael and that little fiasco showed it. That and Sneddon jumping up and down saying, "We got him!"

The media, despite popular belief, don't speak for the general public. They are what you would call the vocal minority.

His lawyer has just commented I got it off CNN

"I don't know what part of negotiations could have broken down, in light of the fact that we've placed ourselves in the hands of law enforcement to surrender at any time," said Ed Chernoff, Murray's lawyer.

Interesting phrase.
You are absolutely right.
Thanks, that is a very good quote!
