kanye west explain the Mj Scene in his runaway shortfilm

Interesting....to me, it seems like he's trying to put himself on that same level as Michael....cuz he says the point is to show that girl his life, and his world.....so, that's what it seems like to me....

The greatest, biggest pop-cultural figure of all time, arguably bigger than Jesus Christ, is Michael Jackson...

I cant agree more....

The song lyric was referencing 'our n*gga MJ is gone". The parade thing, where Kanye & the Phoenix watched, was him trying to introduce her to the culture of HIS world (music), and the highest visionary IN it, just happened to be this recently deceased musical deity. That the masses loved. So you see the float of MJ juxtaposed against the many followers walking alongside it.

Ok....that's a good explanation for it...Makes sense...:)

i dont like this man. Kanya is got the ego the size of Russia before it was all split up. The way i see it is he is still trying to gain popularity by using Michael and his likeness in anyway he can... My opinion.

it's interesting that before Michael died, anyone making that John Lennonesque comment about a pop star being compared to Jesus Christ, would get a saute' and simmer. now, it's seemingly cool for people to make that comparison. i don't agree with it. Jesus had a whole country crossection thing going back in that day in Israel..

besides, it's telling that Jesus seems to be the one people are making these pop figure comparisons to.

first it was done with the Beatles, and now, Michael Jackson.

although i can see where Kanye is coming from, because a lot of people obviously feel that way...after the pop star's death.

man...the irony of this whole thing. i never let a negative word pass through my lips about Michael Jackson..never did..and because of that, there have been people who accused me of making a god out of him. yet, to me, Michael is far from being a god. yet in other cases, it's cool for some people to think of him as a god. either people have different definitions of a god, or some are just confrontational just for confrontation's own sake.

imo there are many types of god. Not JC but the others... ya know Roman Gods. Michael is right up there with them. JC is in a class all his own.

I didn't understand why KKK is pulling a papier-mâché head of Michael Jackson, and I didn't understand his explanation. Can someone please explain to me what Kanye meant with that??
He is talking about cults but I don't see connection between KKK and MJ. Was that disrespectful or not?? Many friends called me yesterday and asked me if I had seen how Kanye dissed MJ in his new video. I always thought that MJ is Kanyes idol...

I just saw the full video of it, quite unique it was, i liked it. It's cool that Kanye says that about MJ, he's supportive of him now. Too bad he wasn't in the past though...

Got a white girlfriend who looks michael jackson, got a blackgirlfriend who looks like michael jackson

But i guess aftr meeting him/working with him...he changed his views/opinion. That part in the video to me didn't look like a diss at all. And he compares him to Jesus and calls him arguably even bigger than him...in the song he sings 'MJ Gone, our n*gga dead' ...of course thats not a diss.

Agreeing with blasphemy.... And with a guy who sold his soul and admitted to that: “I sold my soul to the devil! / I know its a crappy deal, it came with a few toys like a happy meal / I’m spaced out God [...]"

One should not even argue / wonder about who was bigger. Period. Nobody is grander than God, Michael knew that and I wish some would too one day, for they don't know what they're saying.

Kanye West is a product of evil and his products are twisted forms of art, they're not even art, as they're striving to be grand and innovative and end up being totally the opposite.

His latest album cover, http://www.missxpose.com/2010/10/kanye-west-xposes-controversial-album-cover-art/, is really showing how hard he tries to be grand and controversial and only ends up being sickening.

To think these kind of 'artists' are ruling the charts and dominating the music world today. But most importantly, the human psyche.

First things first. SMH at people bringing up the ego thing.
"Now I can let these dream killers kill my self esteem.... or use my arrogance as steam to power my dreams" :)

People getting all stressed out because Ye said MJs arguably bigger than Jesus. He ARGUABLY is! Deny it.

Hes showing MJ at the top of music and the industry he is in. Haters are going to hate simply because its Kanye. Your loss though.

Oh, I forgot he needs to be shot for running onto a white girls stage.

People forget him speaking out against the media & President infront of billions of people.

A bit of a tacky look-at-me gimmick video. But then that's all Kanye really has to offer.

He explained it on mtv.com, don't remember all of what he said but he did specifically say it was not the KKK, it's to do with a group or sheep mentality and others warping people's creativity (the kid with the torch) to fit your own mold/ideals. You can probably find the video on their site.

Michael was trying hard to make a statement both in the Black Or White video (the Black Panthers movement), where he struggles with the enemy, whatever it was, as well as was the case with the HIStory promo clip, with which he was pictured as the leader of the army of love fighting against communism, and he admitted to wanting it to draw attention. That was post-the false molestation charges, that crushed his spirit, but didn't kill him, the statue being representative of his resilient, strong nature in spite of an increasingly hostile world. If anyone else would've survived that, they too would have wanted to make a bold statement. Even if that meant irking one out.

What does Kanye West do? He just really irks and tries too hard and gloriously fails often. After he said he sold his soul, nothing should even matter. He made his statement, cusses 50 percent of his songs, brags about his self. Too bad, for he has potential and could send out some decent messages to the world. If he changed, I'll welcome him. But instead, just feel sorry for people like him, who are wasting themselves. Michael Jackson's visual statements and ego were displayed with a purpose and out of hurt, while West's look just unconvincing and desperate. If he tried less to surpass everyone and appear more different than the rest, he may be taken more seriously. But he's just in line with people like Jay Z or the Rothchilds. One just can't compare Michael's beautiful soul with someone's who lost it and admitted to losing it. But arguments are created just for the sake of being created at times, with superficial, relaxed analogies being used.

I, personally, am no hater of anyone, so the poster saying that is obviously and illustratingly a fan of the person in question here, so whatever is said to counter his words/actions is blown in the wind. It isn't mine or anyone's loss. One should actually possess a character and a nobel soul to be considered a loss. If I passionately react to offensive comparisons involving Jesus, I have the right to and the obligation to.

There have been others speaking against the President's actions or the media's, very emphatically, thus pathetically, and that still doesn't change the fact the person in question, Kanye West, is serving his own dark god. That should put a lid to anything else and it's just so mind-boggling how this doesn't count to others, and the focus goes elsewhere vainly.

Alma, do you believe Kanye is in the Illuminati?

And don't worry, your words are not being blown in the wind when speaking to me. :)
(I hate the fact that having Ye down in my sig could put someone off having a conversation or debate with me.)

When being compared to Jesus, I believe its alright for people to do so as long as they are going off a popularity scale, to be bigger than Jesus.

Kanye has put out soo many positive songs. Believe me, its crossed my mind about how much hes mentioning Lucifer in recent songs. Looking back to the days of Jesus Walks. Don't worry, the fans are talking about it. We see it and hear it.

But right now, I don't believe hes a Freemason or in the Illuminati. Not even a pawn for the Illuminati. I dont think Jay is either. They are smart business men who know how to create hype around there work.

Thank you for your nice, post, in which you presented your calm opinions. Even after my latest one, who was that stormy.

I don't like to really talk about that 'dark' topic more than I already did. It's bringing me discomfort. I hope these people aren't what I suspect they are and really look like they are, or at least that they're trying to get out. I'm not looking down on anyone of them, I'm just uncomfortable with how they come across.

If you actually listened to Kanye's explanation, you can tell he's trying hard to make a statement, to make a point. Like he said, the people in the hoods aren't KKK, they represent something, they represent the method of cultivation. Think about it, like he said, the little boy was running at full speed carrying a torch, the torch represented his own personal thought process. He then says toward the end of the scene, the kid is in a hood and is walking slowly, with the rest of the group.

He then goes on to explain cultivation, and how the powers that be use that to control the masses, a type of slave thought process. Now think about it, when the subject of Michael Jackson comes up, before and after his death, but moreso before, it wasn't about how great of an artist he was, it was about allegations, and criminal acts. Now most people didn't take the time to research case info, or the 1993 allegations, nobody, other than fans took the time to research the inconsistencies in witness testimonies, or the inconsistencies in descriptions, or the families history of welfare fraud, among other things.

But what did people think? They believed he was guilty, they believed he did these things, despite being found innocent, why is that? Because the media, the television they watch everyday, and the papers they read told them to. People formed they're beliefs around what they read in the paper or seen on television. At the beginning of the video, Kanye says to the phoenix, "Don't believe everything you see on tv". The float of Michael and the people in hoods represent how a mass of people can be deceived into believing something, by such a simple process of cultivation.

no i call out Kanye for his past ego trips. For thinking him better then anyone. If there is one thing i have learned from Michael is only show flash when its needed. Michael may have went overboard with the HIStory statue but it was all in the grandness of things. Since then he hadn't done anything to shadow it. Michael worked hard to get where he is, Michael had a right to do what he did because he earned it. Kanye does it because his ego tells him to, Because he has no class when it comes to the spotlight. Michael had more class in his pinky then Mr. West does in his whole body.

We all have our own opinions and tastes in music. he is one who leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

After watching the video, I didnt really know what to make of it. But after watching Kanye's explanation, I feel like I have an understanding of what he was trying to say. It makes sense. Especially about the kid running holding on to a torch(red smoke coming out of it)! Then After he lived in the world and was told how to act, Think, and behave, He was waring the gown…or something to that effect.

And the part that kinda got me was when the "bird woman" was watching the News, He turned it off and say "First rule in this world baby, dont pay attention to anything you see in the news" Which is very true…

I've got a mixed feeling about Kanye, but I have to say the video was alright… I guess

Michael may have staged the occasional absurd publicity stunt (the HIStory statue), but all you had to do was hear the man speak to know that he never had a shred of arrogance and is actually full of humility.

It makes me cringe when you see a lot of these lesser-stars talking themselves up, trying to convince the world they're something special. I always think with people like Kanye comparing himself to Michael or Usher talking about how he's a "future legend"... it's all so tacky and desperate. If you were truly that great, shouldn't it be someone else saying these things about you???

The likes of Kanye are obviously living in their own self-absorbed bubble, oblivious to the world outside. To compare himself to Michael Jackson in any way, shape or form is ludicrous. He isn't even a household name - my parents couldn't name you one of his songs, hell, they probably wouldn't even know who he was.

I only ask, can you do what Kanye West does? I doubt it, not to take anything away from you, but to call him a "lesser-star" as if he's some talentless prick is absurd, IMO. Kanye never compared himself to Michael, a tabloid started a rumor and majority of you ran with it, kind of hypocritical if you ask me. Will Kanye West go down as one of the best of the modern era? Yes, he will, whether you like it or not, and he deserves it, with that said, that doesn't mean he's the same caliber superstar as Michael Jackson. But put it like this, people like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Eminem, Usher, and Kanye West, they are the superstars of today, they are now the people that the upcoming artists look up to for inspiration. It seems some of you can't come to grasp with that, Michael Jackson is timeless, but peoples taste aren't.

Seems to me like Kanye is referencing the cult of personality. Using the float and the followers shows how people see Michael as a god like figure with multiple worshippers. Referencing MJ in the song obviously shows a racial aspect to it when he says 'our n*****' re-inforcing that he is a black man. That English degree comes in useful sometimes!
