Both the interviewer and interviewee are to blame here.

I am not surprised by this interview. I expected it and the fallout from it.

Giving the Jackson family the benefit of the doubt is a noble venture. And I hope they truly believe what they are saying. But Michael was always gracious in interviews when questioned about his family. However his family do not return the favour because now that he is gone there are no repercussions.

I am so incensced right now ...

I love this post. I agree his own family is turning Michael into a joke. I am so happy Michael is in a better place and can't be hurt by this. But his children...
I would rather eat dirt than buy that book.

Some of the fans think that they knew and loved Michael more than his own family and what is worse, more than his own mother. He, I am sure, would be disgusted if he read some of your comments guys. Some of you are so hypocritical. It seems that you only would accept MJ the perfect. But he was not perfect just like none of us is.
I have loved him since I was 12 and I am 39 now. I loved him for his music and dance, for his humanitarianism, for the man he really was. I love him even if he did drugs, for he had a reason to do it. It is horrible to say, but he, just as his mother said, had a reason to do the things he did. I love him even if he did all these plastic surgery things. I do not care. It does not change the way he was as a human being,
You are trying to protect his legacy, but you are not doing it. You are insulting his mother, and tomorrow you are going to insult his kids if they say something that does not fit the build of MJ you created in your own heads.

I love him and will always love him no matter what. With or without drugs and plastic surgery, it was his soul that made him so special and precious in this cruel world.

Its airing live now. Katherine just said Michael would tell her "I'm so ugly." Then she brings up that he just decided to get his nose done. Katherine says she doesn't know how he got his vitiligo 'fixed' and that he didn't want to look like a spotted cow. She is now saying he was addicted to plastic surgery and made the toothpick comment...LAWD. :(

we are doing better than his own family at defending his legacy. they are the ones helping murrays defence they are the ones helping to re write history have u read the autopsy report? cause i didnt create that im my head.. they are the ones more concerned that a song is fake then their brothers.son own legacy. if they love him as the claim its about time started acting like it instead of crapping on him at every oppotunity. katheirne had the most wonderful son on the world but all we get is talk about plastic surgery. mj would be heart broken to see his own family talking about him this way and for allowing orka to get near his children. totally going against all his wishes about protecting his kids from the media. if the kids ever start talking the dsame way i doubt fans will hate cause most except that unless we are lucky they will end up brainwashed anyway by those who are around them. wont be their fault.murrays laughing all the way to freedom and the tabloids are joining in with him.

the family should look in the mirror about mjs surgeries. when u get told you are worthless and are ugly eventually u beging to believe it. i hope shes had the same conversations with latoya etc

well after watching part1, Katherine's comments watched in context are not as bad as I feared. She mentioned the vitiligo which I think is important.

As the Team Leader for the Legacy Project, I want to address this.

Like you, I have loved Michael for ALL that he was. I do not require him to be perfect. And I do not require others to think him as perfect. But this man was villified, mocked, degraded and scorned for who he was and who he was perceived to be. I believe that, in death, Michael could start to receive the respect that was not given to him in life.

As Rev Sharpton said that some people like dealing in mess and not the message. And some of the things that Mrs Jackson said in that interview feeds in to the 'mess'.

Let us hope that she said things that focus on the message.

I cannot speak for everyone here but I feel the grouse is that she should not have had an interview with Oprah Winfrey, should not have included Michael's children and some of the things that she said should have remained unsaid.

Katherine, Katherine. You make me so sad. Why would you say on TV that your son's nose looks like a toothpick. Even if that is how you felt. Why would you say he was addicted to plastic surgery when you know the media love to make fun of that aspect of his life? I just don't understand. I just don't. Why would she do that?

Someone made a great point. What about all the photos we got of the drawings of Michael? And Oprah was there for hours interviewing Katherine. Why not show a side of Michael that the world had no idea about? Paris did a good job when talking about her her dad cooked for her. But even discussing those tabloid rumors was a bad idea. Still I wonder what Oprah left out.

My feelings exactly, so many fans on here are so so uptight about everything pertaining to Michael, like they have some kind of emotional copyright on him. He means a lot to many people, but come one, FAMILY IS FAMILY. You dont go around slating his mother, for crying out loud. You cant control what they do. If you love and support Michael, good! Carry on...but no need for jumping on anyone who says something that even slightly misaligned with YOUR image of Mike - cause if its that strong for you; it shouldn't matter what anyone says or does. Oprah is so fake. Why is she holding Katherine's hand when its obvious doesn't think well of her dead son?

Katherine just said Paris was saying to Michael 'I want to be with you. Don't leave me. I want to go with you.' I'm crying right now... :(

So out of this we basically get MJ is A LONG TIME DRUG ADDICT :smilerolleyes: If Katherine is crying just recalling June 25th, I highly doubt she has read the autopsy report.

I don't even know sometimes why we bother even defending MJ. With some as long as they are family they get a free pass to do whatever they want. Say whatever they want. And if you disagree, you are the one MJ would disapprove of. It is such wicked and twisted thinking that it just makes me want to give up. I mean why bother? Let's just hand everything over to the family and let them run it and support them in whatever they do. They obviously have shown that they know best and they do everything for him.

She also said often when they say they are not doing drugs they are in denial. It seems someone fed her he was in denial and she is going with that.

I am devasted again.
Or maybe I no longer feel a thing.
Good MJ is just having the peace and rest he deserves and he can't no longer be hurt by this mess.
