Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor"

Conrad Murray Documentary
Lawsuit to Block Payment to Doc

A cardiology equipment company has filed a lawsuit against MSNBC and others, claiming the network should pay off a debt Murray owes them before the doctor gets a red cent for his participation in the documentary.

Digirad Imaging Solutions is a California company that obtained a $147,075 judgment against Murray because he didn't pay his bills.

Digirad claims MSNBC, Zodiak Media Group -- the producer of the documentary -- and others might be paying Murray for the documentary, and Digirad wants its cut from the defendants before they pay the doc.

Digirad is asking for an order forcing MSNBC and the rest to pay the judgment.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

You know I am beginning to have more and more distaste for Muarrry, and I did not think that was possible. I have to admit that my dislike of the family's behavior or lack of action now is on the same level as my dislike for Muarry's behavior.

^^So now come the list of organizations who will go after Muarry's money including the estate and the family. Kama in action.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

This is very frustrating. I am glad the letter the estate wrote. I wish Michael's own family would do something too.

I heard Latoya telling Velez that she loved her and she kept tweeting the media about how they were doing a good job during the trial. However, has anyone seen her tweets to these people asking them to denounce this? I guess no one has!!!

Before Muarry leaves prison the only thing he will have is his clothes on his back. He will be stripped of all his assets, unless he hid some money in Alverez's name--but these women are not loyal.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

I have forwarded the Estate's letter to Channel 4, waiting on a response. They responded in 12 minutes last time.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

I am sure he has more debts and i hope everyone he owes money will come after him.

Ugh, I know right. They're even spreading their ignorance to the children. Some of the people they associate with have been so horrible to Mike.

Please if they were, everyone would have a millionaire's mansion, but maybe Michael would not be an addict because they would not have to make money off that. they woould also leave AEG alone and the estate would earn 0 by 2010.

GOOD! The bricks are continuing to fall on The Murderer Murray.

I hope that every single person and/or company that he owes money to, follows suit and files their own, individual, lawsuits for services rendered. And that includes all of those baby-mamas that are STILL waiting for their back child-support payments.

I also have to laugh at the fact that MSNBC tried to pull a fast one, now they too have been drawn into this lawsuit. Serves them right, for trying to play fast and loose, now they too will have to pay the piper in the form of attorney fees in order to answer this lawsuit and any other lawsuits that may follow.

Don't ever think for ONE minute that we cannot be effective! MJJC's actions, other fan clubs' actions, M.J.A.N.'s blog, and others, were HEARD. Would the executors have made their statement otherwise? Probably? but we ALL added some weight to the cause. Good job, everyone!

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

I've never known i could hate somebody who i havent even met in my life so much. I dont know why this shit is happening it so unjustice and disgusting. Who the hell let this idiot Flanagan to talk about MJ and call him 'sick' ?? How could this so-called doctor whom Michael was telling about his dreams and hopes, be so greedy, unfair and cruel? He refused to stand in the trial to prove his own honour - he just pissed his pants off thinking met Walgren's cross face-to-face. But he decided to make and to show this crappy documentary where he's staring in and could say everything he wants without chance to debunk!
O Lord i just feel sooo sick to see all this. I hate him and want him to burn in hell!!!!

Reflections On The Dance, An Honest Look at Michael Joseph Jackson
Okay, just spoke to Tom Mesereau and asked him about the law in regards to the Murray documentary and if Murray was in violation...Tom was not sure of the judge's orders....they may have ranged from simply not making any public statements), which this would not be considered as it's a documentary and not a press statement or it could have been a gag order that nothing was to be released or said until AFTER the trial, which in that case, he would not be in violation.

At any rate, the fans can contact the judge and make their case known. As a fan base, we have done this before....The advice I was given was that the judge would be the best person to contact in regards to this.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

Justice4MJ has been on top of this from the time we heard about it. They are starting with sponsor's they also have been sending MASS emails to the head of that network. I also have sent my email's and tweets and i hope you do as well. From the news over there Murray started this crocumentray the day AFTER HE DIED. so our job is a bit harder. We have to make people see how wrong and disgusting this act is. They need to know the facts WE know about Murray. I don't see how they could pay a man to talk about how he killed Michael. It's very sad that just for ratings they through out humanity and ed to merespect.

Is this true? Because if it is, then why was Murray not charged with murder 2, because it sure seems premeditated to me! Noone in their right mind was thinking about making a documentary in the aftermath of 25/6. It's especially hard to think about Michael's "doctor" doing so, how on earth was he able to make such a thought through decision if he hadn't thought about it way before?????

This is beyond disgusting and I think the Estate should hammer this TV network down!!!

F... it, Murray had the chance to speak during the trial, but of course he decided not to because he would have been cross examined and that wouldn't be in his best intrest, would it?

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

Channel 4 even try to mislead in the letter they write. According to them this doc is showing the events of the day he died. How can that be when on clips we hear muarry talking about michael's room having mildew and smelled and how he never had a manicure and pedicure. How is that related to the events that unfold on the last day. Please.

....And it may be 'observational' but it sure doesn't seem to be 'independent'....it seems VERY one-sided to me. Is there no -one to speak FOR Michael in this documentary?

CNN now has the story as well

Jackson excutors blast MSNBC for airing Conrad Murray documentary
By Alan Duke, CNN
November 9, 2011 -- Updated 2217 GMT (0617 HKT)
STORY HIGHLIGHTS

MSNBC, NBC and Comcast are "morally culpable" for paying for the documentary, executors say
Estate executors want to know how much Murray was paid to tell his story
Katherine Jackson's lawyer vows "most aggressive action possible" to stop Murray from benefiting

Murray film is the "untold inside story" of Murray's relationship with Jackson, MSNBC says

Los Angeles (CNN) -- NBC and parent company Comcast are "morally culpable" for paying to air a documentary with inside access to Dr. Conrad Murray, the executors of Michael Jackson's estate said in a letter to the broadcast company Wednesday.

"No sooner was Conrad Murray ordered led away in handcuffs after his conviction on manslaughter charges in the death of Michael Jackson than we discovered your MSNBC network inexplicably will showcase him in prime time Friday night as if he is worthy of celebrity," executors John Branca and John McClain wrote.

"Michael Jackson and The Doctor" is the "untold inside story" in which Murray "breaks his silence to reveal personal details of his relationship with Michael Jackson, Murray's role within the star's family life, the intense pressures that Jackson felt leading up to his tour and the events of the fateful day that led to Jackson's death," MSNBC said in a news release.

A spokesman for the company said "no comment" when asked by CNN to respond to the letter from the estate Wednesday.

The lawyer for Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, told CNN Wednesday that he realized it would be "virtually impossible to stop" Friday night's broadcast.

But "I will take the most aggressive action possible to make sure a convicted felon never profits from the death of Michael Jackson," Perry Sanders said.

The estate executors said by buying the documentary, "MSNBC gives Conrad Murray a platform to shift the blame post-conviction to Michael Jackson, even though a jury considered the evidence and rejected this very argument."

The executors questioned the documentary producers' statement that they only paid Murray $1 for his story, which the executors said left "open the question of whether payments were made to his representatives."

"As the executors for the estate of the victim of Dr. Murray's crime, we would like to know how much money in total was paid for this privileged 'access?' Was it really only $1, or was it more?" the letter asked.

"It doesn't matter to us if it was a production company, Comcast, NBC Universal or MSNBC that paid for 'access' to Dr. Murray because all are morally culpable," the executors wrote. "It is equally irrelevant whether any or all interviews took place before the jury convicted him. These are moral loopholes aimed at excusing a reprehensible program stemming from Michael Jackson's tragic death that will not only be aired, but which is heavily promoted on The Today Show in order to boost ratings a a struggling cable network."

The network said producers worked on the film for two years with exclusive access to Dr. Murray and his lawyers.

"In a series of very personal interviews, Murray discusses in detail Jackson's fragile health and mental state, yet unstoppable dedication to creating a successful world tour," the network said. "The documentary gained access into the closed-door meetings with Dr. Murray's defense team both before and during the trial, giving a look into their strategy and how they pieced the case together."

Michael Jackson's family demands MSNBC ax Conrad Murray documentary

Executors for the estate of Michael Jackson demanded Wednesday that MSNBC drop its plan to air a "reprehensible" documentary that promises a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the singer's relationship with Dr. Conrad Murray, but which they charged smears the late pop icon.

In a letter to MSNBC President Phil Griffin and the cable channel's corporate overseers, the Jackson representatives argued that Murray, convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death, uses the documentary "to shift the blame post-conviction to Michael Jackson, even though a jury considered the evidence and rejected this very argument."

MSNBC purchased "Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship" from a British production company and plans to air it Friday and Monday night, along with an "exclusive" interview with Murray by NBC News correspondent Savannah Guthrie.

DOCUMENTS: Read the Jackson estate letter to MSNBC

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury convicted Murray for administering propofol, a surgical anesthetic, to Jackson and then failing to monitor the pop star as he stopped breathing.

MSNBC representatives had said earlier that the cable channel did not pay for access to Murray or contribute to his legal defense.

The producer of the documentary, October Films, said it paid only $1 for two years of access to Murray and a behind-the-scenes look at his legal defense.

Representatives of MSNBC and October Films said they did not know what arrangements might have been made by the film's distributor, Zodiak Rights. Zodiak representatives could not be reached.

The Jackson family representatives questioned whether additional payments were made to Murray.

"Was it really only $1, or was it more?" said a letter from John Branca and John McClain, who are co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate.

MSNBC did not immediately respond to the demand to cancel the airing of the documentary.

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

The language used against these networks is right on the money. They are, as stated, making Murray, convicted of his actions that led to the death of Michael Jackson, into a celebrity. He is not! He should not get glorlified time; his time to tell his story was in court. He chose not to do so.

To even think that he was working on this for the past two years tells you that he didn't give a rip about Michael Jackson. Did he even care that it dragged on for two years? It also puts that recording into perspective on some level. Did he have media plans one way or the other for his behind the scenes insights being with Michael?

Re: MSNBC to air Murray Documentary "Michael Jackson and the Doctor" / Estate letter @pg18

haha and they said before that Murray didn't get pay???? How stupid is that comment. The distributor got paid mean Murray and his layer got paid. They think people just so stupid to think Murray will do this for free? Don't be ridiculous.
Thank God Katherine finally came out to say something.

Conrad Murray talks about why he didn't call 911

Michael Jackson's doctor speaks exclusively to TODAY's Savannah Guthrie

TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie sits down with Dr. Conrad Murray in an exclusive interview airing Thursday, Nov. 10, and Friday, Nov. 11.

Conrad Murray told TODAY's Savannah Guthrie that he didn't call 911 when Michael Jackson stopped breathing because emergency responders would not have been able to get through the gate to the singer's home.

"No one is allowed to come upstairs except for Mr. Jackson," he said.

"You called his bodyguard," Guthrie said to Murray, who was the singer's personal physician when he died in 2009. "Couldn't you have said, 'Call 911, and meet 'em at the gate?"

Murray responded that he didn't want to "leave a full explanation on the phone," and that he didn't think Jackson's employee would return his call. Instead he began giving cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and a guard at Jackson's rented Los Angeles mansion eventually called the emergency number 20 minutes later.

Guthrie's interview with Murray will air Thursday and Friday on TODAY. The MSNBC documentary "Michael Jackson and The Doctor" will premiere on MSNBC Friday at 10 p.m. ET.

On Monday, Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of the pop star. He is now in jail awaiting sentencing on Nov. 29. He faces up to four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

Murray also told Guthrie that he didn't tell the paramedics on the scene that Jackson had been given propofol because "it was inconsequential" as the effects of the drug would have worn off by that time. When Guthrie asked why not supply the information anyway, he insisted the drug "had no effect."

The doctor has been criticized for leaving the room to use his cell phone while the singer slept, and for making phone calls and sending texts and emails while Jackson was apparently dying. Murray told Guthrie that Jackson had finally fallen asleep and was in no need of his presence.

"Am I gonna sit over him, sit around him, tug on his feet, do anything unusual to wake him up?" Murray said of leaving the singer alone. "No."

Murray also says he felt that just three days before Jackson's death, the singer was successfully weaned off of the surgical anesthetic propofol upon which he depended for sleep. When Guthrie questioned why he had left the singer in a situation where he might have a chance to inject himself with the drug, something that was suggested by Murray's defense team, the doctor said "that was not a foreseeable situation."

Guthrie also asked Murray why, when he felt he shouldn't be giving Jackson propofol, he didn't walk away from his $150,000 a month position as Jackson's personal physician.

"I should have walked away," Murray said. "But if also I walked away, I would have abandoned a friend."

URGENT!! BOYCOTT MURRAY DOCUMENTARY!

by Majestik Magnificent on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 9:56pm

Hello fans. This is Majestik. Unfortunately we are at the cross roads again. The documentary that is being released this Friday must be stopped. I have spoken to Jackson family members regarding this. They are endorsing you 500% in your efforts to stop this. Once again Michael needs you to come to his aide for his legacy and respectability for his children. What Murray is doing this Friday is disrespectful, unacceptable, and more than anything, very very hurtful to his family and children. Please tie up the phone lines of MSNBC like you have done so many times in the past! If you can, try to create awareness in the press to know that you are not accepting this type of behavior. The family is behind you 500% on this one. La Toya Jackson as we speak is trying to get attorneys in association with her father to stop this on MSNBC .
Much Respect ,
Majestik Magnificent
