District Attorney Supports Michael Jackson's Children Participating In Dr. Conrad Murray Sentencing

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney David Walgren has told Katherine Jackson that he supports Michael Jackson's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, participating in Dr. Conrad Murray's sentencing on November 29, 2011, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Michael's two oldest children, Prince and Paris, had told their grandmother Katherine they wanted to testify in Murray’s trial, but ultimately, the D.A. decided not to call Jackson's children.

"The D.A. has told Katherine Jackson that the children could submit a letter for one of the family members to read at the sentencing. If either one of them wish to address the court, he will fully support the children, and make whatever accommodations need to be made. It's still unclear if the children will be in court for sentencing, Katherine Jackson is very protective of the children. If Katherine has her way, they won't be anywhere near the courthouse for sentencing," a Jackson family insider tells RadarOnline.com.

The Jackson family will be allowed to address Judge Michael Pastor on November 29 at Murray's sentencing. "Michael comes from a very large family, and they were in court for the entire trial. The DA will be talking to the Jackson family as the sentencing date draws closer. It's a very fluid situation, but it's more than likely that more than two Jackson siblings will be speaking. Katherine Jackson hasn't decided if she will make public comments in court," the source says.

Dr. Conrad Murray was remanded into custody pending his sentencing. He could face up to four years in state prison.

Michael Jackson Would 'Absolutely' Be Alive If Not for Conrad Murray, Juror Says

By JIM AVILA (@JimAvilaABC) , KAITLYN FOLMER (@ABCKaitlyn) and KATIE KINDELAN
Nov. 9, 2011

Nearly all the 12 jurors chosen to decide the fate of Dr. Conrad Murray in the trial over the death of Michael Jackson had decided on his guilt the first day of deliberations, the first juror in the case to speak out exclusively tells ABC News.

Debbie Franklin, a 48-year-old mother of two from Temple City, Calif., was the juror who, on Monday, rung the buzzer three times in the Los Angeles courtroom where Murray had sat on trial for the past six weeks to alert the judge and the world that a verdict had been reached.

"Our hearts were pounding to go out there," Franklin told "Good Morning America," of the moment she and the other jurors emerged from eight hours of deliberations to issue a guilty verdict for Murray that could send him to prison for up to four years.

The jury convicted Murray of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 drug-overdose death of the King of Pop. Prosecutors alleged that Murray supplied an insomnia-plagued Jackson with the powerful operating-room anesthetic propofol to help him sleep as he rehearsed for his "This Is It" comeback tour.

Franklin says she and the other jurors believe Jackson, who was 50, would "absolutely" be alive today if not for Murray.

"Conrad Murray did it," she said. "Conrad Murray agreed to be the one to go into the bedroom and do this. He [Jackson] was looking for somebody to say yes, and Conrad Murray said yes."

Prosecutors portrayed Murray, 58, as a negligent doctor who gave the singer what he wanted, the drug propofol, at home in Jackson's bedroom without the necessary safeguards and care when things went wrong.

"I thought they did an excellent job," Franklin said of the prosecution. "They were ready for every witness. The questioning went from beginning to end. Nothing seemed to sidetrack them."

Franklin says there were three factors presented in the trial that led the jury to a guilty verdict for Murray.

"The three biggest things for us were the 911 call, not calling 911. That was a big issue, and not having the medical equipment in the room to put somebody under sedation and leaving the room," she said.

While the jury was nearly unanimous from the trial's start that Murray played a role in Jackson's death, not everyone was convinced the doctor was solely responsible, Franklin said.

Murray, who did not testify in his trial, told police that he administered only a small dose on the day Jackson died. His lawyers blamed Jackson for his own death, saying the singer injected himself with an ultimately lethal dose of the drug while Murray was out of the room.

"Even if Michael Jackson injected himself, which I don't think we believed, but, we felt, even if he did, that wouldn't have mattered because Conrad Murray brought the situation there," she said. "He was the doctor. He was in charge."

Jackson's behavior was barely a consideration, despite the fact that Franklin believes "he had a lot of issues... I believe he had addictions or dependence."

But the argument that the pop singer's addiction led to his own death was not enough to sway Franklin, or the other jurors.

"I really think they didn't have a lot to work with," she said of Murray's defense team. "They tried to do what they could with what they had."

Although the jury came to a verdict fairly quickly, it was not easy for the seven men and five women.

"We took a vote and it was not unanimous, so we said let's think about it over the weekend and talk about it on Monday," she said of the jury's first day of deliberations on Friday. "It was stressful. It was a lot of work. Yelling, everybody was talking."

--------------------------

The last paragraph is interesting, because that's exactly what I thought on Monday when they reached a verdict after only a few hours, that they said on Friday "let's think about this over the weekend".

The children should participate in the sentencing, they should at least write a letter. Letter's or speeches given by fkers like Maureen Brown won't help, get him the max sentence. If Murray getting the full sentence in state prison (unlikekly I know)/jail by having those children present at the sentencing/or contribute via letter etc so be it. I don't give a damn. I want this sociopath in jail.

I was expecting to hear about the kids in the sentencing phase. I hope Katherine will listen to them, and let them do what THEY want to do.

I have no idea how they feel about it, but if they want to address the court, they should be allowed to, at least Prince and Paris should , Blanket may still be too young for that, IMO.

They are victims of Murray, just as much as Michael.

And, if they feel they have anything to say to Murray, it could be their only chance. He would have to listen to them.

Do you think Murray could be tried for Second degree murder based on all the evidence?

he can't be tried for the same crime twice

Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray spent thousands on lapdancers after landing job with King of Pop

CONRAD Murray spent thousands of dollars on lapdancers after landing a job from Michael Jackson, telling one girl he was milking the singer for everything he could.
Earning a staggering £93,000 a month simply to help the King of Pop get a good night's sleep, Murray couldn't believe his luck.
The married 58-year-old, a father of at least seven children from a string of mistresses, was the star's personal physician, a job which would change his world forever.

The doctor's life is now in tatters, his reputation ruined, but stripper Tanya Heller remembers a very different Murray.
Sipping champagne at Spearmint Rhino strip club in Las Vegas, he told Tanya he was a "big shot" doctor trusted by Jackson.
Tanya, 27, said: "He was so full of himself. He would come in two, three times a week and spent money like he was a movie star.
"He blurted out all kinds of private stuff he probably shouldn't have.
"He told me he wanted to make as much money as possible out of the situation.
"He didn't seem to care about him. He said some horrible things about him, that he was a weird freak, paranoid and reclusive.
"I thought he was very rude and ungrateful after getting such a job."
Heart doctor Murray was hired by Jackson in May 2009 - nearly three years after they met - as the star prepared for 50 comeback shows.
But while living in LA he spent his nights roaming seedy strip joints getting drunk and looking for young women to charm.
During his six week trial Murray was painted as greedy, manipulative and criminally negligent. Prosecutors pointed to Murray's complicated love life as the reason he was not giving the star his full attention when he administered propofol to him the day he died.
Murray was on the phone to cocktail waitress Sade Anding, 25, when he found Jackson in trouble and raised the alarm.
He was texting stripper Michelle Bella that morning and another woman, Bridgette Morgan, called about a plane ticket he said he was purchasing so she could visit him.
While he was seeing the three other women, the doctor was living with his 29-year-old lover Nicole Alvarez, also a stripper and the mother of one of his children.
Meanwhile, the out-of-control doc had let business interests slip and he was blighted by outstanding debts and tax demands.
He had filed for bankruptcy in 1992 and in 2002. Five tax bills were filed against him between 1993 and 2003, for sums of more than £27,000.
Three judgments were filed against Murray or his company in 2008 totalling more than £265,000. Two other companies claimed Murray owed them a total of £215,000.
The Jackson job appeared to offer troubled Murray the chance of financial salvation... in fact he was to fall even further.

Because Murray made this doc when he was presumed innocent there is nothing the Judge can do sadly.

I hate him so bad, his soul purpose was money and tarts. I said earlier that he was dead jealous of Michael he taped him then killed him when he found he wasn't going to London.

when did flanagan said that about he is sick? And what did he say more??? Please tell me i want to know./.

Okay now that I've seen the clip on YouTube, I can answer this question. The scene begins with Chernoff, Flanagan, his wife Susan, etc. having dinner at Flanagan's Haus. Flanagan is talking about the bathroom and saying it was messy (fair enough, it was). Then, his wife changes the subject to Michael's bedroom, and she's the one who made the comment about a 50 year old man sleeping with a baby doll and having baby dolls looking at him, etc.

Then Flanagan said "everything about him is sick, it's weird..." I suppose to support his wife (TBH she sounds like a real bitch).

Then Chernoff (surprisingly!) defends Michael and says a lot of the crap was basically media attacks on him. I never thought I'd live to see the day Chernoff would say something honest and intelligent, but it happened...

So, it seemed to me Flanagan was just going along with what his wife said (I've seen this happen in other marriages where the wife is a total bitch), but his comment really made me wish I could reach into my computer and slap him in the face. Especially when he had said good things about Michael in July. He's very evidently a coward.

Overall, this paints Flanagan especially as being terribly unprofessional, especially when he dropped the F bomb at Chernoff. I thought Chernoff handled himself pretty well in response to Flanagan's hostility (he was not the usual asshole he is in the courtroom, surprisingly enough).

I haven't seen all of it, but these are the scenes I saw. And yeah Murray made a comment about Flanagan needing to "wake up", and the whole doc. thus far paints him out to be a temperamental narcissist, which is just what he is.

I swear, my bathroom counters look equally loaded.
I bet half the people watching are wondering if they are also sick.

Guess I'm pretty sick in the head, too. I also have a marionette hanging in my bathroom. I'm just really sick.
I didn't really need the shot of Chernoff's leg in shorts, but I started laughing when he said that people just write him to tell him that he sucks.:D
The Flanagans just deserve each other and Murray, well, that's just beyond words.

^I agree, not everyone has impeccable bathrooms, and although Michael's room was messy judging by the photographs, it was still within the average range of bedroom standards. It's not like it was something straight out of "Hoarders." So, talk about much ado about nothing!

Flanazapam's wife is also pretty f--ing ugly. I do admit I did admire Chernoff for standing up for Michael at that dinner table, but not enough to change my overall opinion of him. I honestly can't help but to wonder if all this was scripted. Just the way they talked, and the way Chernoff dramatically takes his plate and walks out...I dunno.

But I reckon it doesn't matter, just the thought of making anything like this is f--ed up!

I forgot what else I was going to say, I'll edit if I remember! I'm sorry I'm not on the ball tonight!

Ok, please help me. I love MJ so much and I'm so glad Murray has been convicted.
But, my husband isn't. And he is giving me a hard time about Murray's conviction.

He wants to know why it's manslaughter as opposed to filing for a malpractice suit.
And if this trial isn't just a way for people to blame mjs death on someone.

Please help. I want him to know why. But I'm not so good with the legal jargon so my argument hasn't made much sense.

Thanks

It is manslaughter because through Murray's gross negligence his patient died. Even if (and I don't believe he did) Michael took pills and injected himself with propofol it is still Murray's gross negligence because Murray left him alone. They listed 17 seperate acts of Murray which amounted to gross misconduct and no duty of care. I think malpractice would mean injuring your patient not killing him.

I think you can still have a dead patient with a medical malpractice suit. In this case, it was the standard to care murray gave was SO below the norms expected from a doctor that a manslaughter charge or even a murder 2 charge were considered by the da's office in LA. The main issue was the giving of anesthetic in a bedroom without any monitoring equipement, not even a pair of eyes as murray admits to leaving the room for up to 3/4 hour, no medical records, the 20min delay in calling 911, the consciousness of guilt in murray not mentioning the anesthetic to the paramedics or doctors at the hospital and the attempt to hide the medication in the bedroom.

Of course, mj shouldn't be blamed on himself, he had a $5000 doctor there to make sure he was safe. You tell your husband!
