Exclusive: Michael Jackson TV Movie 'Searching for Neverland' from Emmy Winning Motown Veteran

There are a lot of negative comments on the Internet concerning this movie. As was discussed, it is more of an entertainment of Michael Jackson than factual.

Twitter Reacts To Lifetime's Michael Jackson: Searching For Neverland & It's NOT Good!

Well, that was a flop.
In case you missed it on Monday night, Lifetime aired the unauthorized biopic Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland that detailed the last years of the iconic singer's life based on the 2014 book by his security guards, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard.

There's been some controversy surrounding the made-for-TV movie, and it seems the Internet had even more opinions to add to the fire after witnessing the project for themselves"

I swear there was more media covfefe :)lol:) before it came out then afterwards.
Probably because there wasn't anything/much for the media to twist and be messy with.

Did they decide to delete the scene of Blanket pushing the alarm and the bodyguards busting in with the gun because I didn't see that scene in the movie?

Why is it that it's only available in the US. The streams available are low quality. Can we download it in high quality somewhere?

It's supposed to show in Canada this weekend and UK on June 25th. Maybe it will be more available then.

That's exactly what I said, I checked Lifetime Canada website and it says it's out tomorrow. My family didn't have that channel anymore because they removed it from their Bell reciever.

where are the people that refused to watch it? lol

The film is definitely making me wonder what was in the book that didn't make the movie.. any other interesting stories etc.

Edit/Update: I just listened to a review from a reader of the book and mentioned a story that was really nice that did not make the movie.. While in the car in Vegas, there were a homeless couple arguing and Michael was wondering what was going on and Michael tells Bill to "give them the money".. ie gave money to them.. The couple apparently were arguing about money

The one who leaked the story to the press in the summer of 2008 that Mj was suffering from liver and kidney failure due to being alcoholic was Randy Jackson and that was after he came back to the US for the simple fact that Mj sued the accountancy firm that Randy hired because Mj was being sued left and right by people who were deprived by Randy and that accountancy firm from their monies when he was running mj's affairs and conspiring with others to steal his assets. He was angry that Mj did not surrender and let him sell the ATV catalogue so Randy could take his piece of the pie. He lost his mind when Mj named him in a legal deposition as one of those who tried to steal the catalogue. They were a huge part of his problems. They made themselves the saviors of a ravaged drug addict in their attempt to get money from AEG. They tried to backpedal when they discovered how stupid they were to go that route. Not out of concern for him or those kids he left behind, but because AEG used their own falsified stories to destroy their case.

Are there any legal transcripts of this? I definitelly missed it if it happened.

Yeah me too.. I don't remember hearing of MJ the alcoholic

I'm watching it and there have been cringe worthy moments though out the movie as expected from a Lifetime production , it didn’t deserve the great reviews it got and it made me appreciate more An American Dream. It's true it's not downright terrible and it's indeed sympathetic to Michael but it's not a good movie. Navi whining through out the film got me through my nerves, I haven't read the bodyguards book but the anecdotes from it fans shared online Michael didn't come across as such. The incident with Randall Navi was overacted as hell and cringy, Michael didn't come out of his roon when Randall was yelling, he told them to get rid of him but Bill and Javon had the idea of calling Joseph to get Randall out of the house. The actor who played Bill was the best of the movie, IMO. I hope either to be able to buy the book some day or it's available online to read it because I bet it's better than the film. I have no desire to watch it again.

Hmmm,This was the complete opposite of the comments that I read on e!online. The initial comments were very positive. Everyone of the comments that I read were that the people enjoyed the movie.

where are the people that refused to watch it? lol

First time ive skimmed through this thread in along time as i have no intrest in watching or following the details the film. So going by that logic others who have no intrest are either going to skim through the thread or not even bother visiting it at all. I find it sad that in some fans desperation for every bit of info on mj they appear to have no problems with ex staff members writing tell all books making money off mj and breaking moral codes of their work . would you all be so keen if mj were still here? Heck its not as if its wayne or yannick but hired hands that were around for two minutes.such books/films are pointless as no one has any idea as to what is being said is true/false/inflated etc etc but it feeds peoples desire to think they know mj or what was going on at a set time in his life and they dont appear to question anything just take everything as fact because they may like what is been said or find it "intresting" its all very much tabloid junkie but because its not a out an out "negative" attack on mj that makes it justifyable and ok in the eyes of some.

Im glad to see the estate refused the use of music.i saw navi at mj day shows before he used the name navi 20 or so years ago but after he turned up at what should have been opening night at the 02 in full outfit enjoying the attention well that was a big turn off.

Agree with respect. The mantra of these types of tell alls is about how weak mj was/is and about how wonderfull the writer was i was his best friend his saviour his whatever else you want to add.just propergating tge mantra that mj was some stupid mentall challenged manchild who could do nothing for himself.its not like we havnt seen it before when it comes to the music.the downplaying of his songwriting/production skills.lieing about sales figures.downplaying his talent to a elvis puppet level.but that also pushes into his private aswell

Re soundminds post yes it was court documented about randys B.S and there was a huge amount of alcoholoc stories being push in the early months of 09.seemingly being helped by the promoter who was pushing the texas family concert going by what he wrote in his book. One front page headline in the uk press stands out in my mind from probably april/may about how the jackson family were sending family members over with mj for the concerts inorder to stop him from drinking non stop.these articles amongst others appeared around the time family members were publically begging mj to take part in some of the concerts. But mj turned them down. Stories all been pushed along with halperiens (sp) B.S anyway drifting off topic.so ill leave your all to your film

Haven't watched it.

But not surprised that the bodyguards came out of it as "saints" - having to put up with, and 'save' Michael - SMH.

The main reason for the book and film was to make themselves some money, off the back of MJ. Making themselves out as 'heroes' was just an added bonus.

Just another one-sided story relating to MJ, by the sounds of it.

Next!

Another thing the movie got wrong is that the bodyguard said Michael never saw Elizabeth again. I don't know if it's also mentioned in the book or it just was purposely changed in the movie but Michael was living in LA again in 2008 and went to visit her in October.

Did the bodyguards portrayed themselves as friends and saviors in the book? Karen Fake, Bush and Tompkins were working for him for dacades and MJ didn't see them as friends.

@respect77, I always respect your opinion. You're bringing up a lot of good points. You know to be honest. I just wish they would leave it all alone. If anyone should tell the story of Michael as a father. It should be his kids. Maybe one day they will.

I have to agree the only one that can tell the story is Michael kids and just maybe we will see that one day I wonder if any one in the family saw it?

It come on again tonight on LMN at 8:00 pm.

I think maybe we built it up too much. I had to watch it with one eye on the TV and one eye on a work project, and couldn't get it undivided attention. I didn't even realize that the alarm scene was cut-(wonder why-from the clips, that looked like a good scene). I saw enough of it to feel affected by it and I didn't feel critical. But again, I obviously didn't see it all.

I thought I could watch it on LMN tonight, but another work thing has happened, so I may have to sit up for the 11:00 encore.
