Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Whoo .. this thread is already 22 pages long.
First I was sceptical about whether a discussion bout a possible appearance makes sense.

But now I`m sure: There will be something HUUUUUUUUGE coming up -

....and that will be the DISAPPOINTMENT of some of you folks!

there wont be any performance of him. Maybe "A*cock", but thats all ....

:D

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Even the biggest pros can get a stage fright or be insecure sometimes. They are only human after all. And in the case of MJ it's totally understandable too, considering what's happened to him in the past few years. I believe Mariah Carey had it too after her breakdown, but she's back on track now.

Yeah, I mean yeah, we know Mike used to breathe live performances but something happened: LIFE happened so I can see why he would be a little nervous. I don't think he's scared but I'm sure he's biding his time if anything. Also lest not forget he almost lost his freedom on a dumb-a$$ trial so chances are he ain't wasting time doing performances right now. The guy first performed at 6, 7 years old but he's been relaxing for at least six years if we're talking about performances and setbacks had gotten in the way.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

But LIFE has been happening to him all while he was living and breathing performing. LIFE has always been happening to him. He's been through some pretty f'd up stuff, a GOOD VARIETY of f'd up stuff in the public eye and never has been afraid to perform. So i see no reason to believe that it's happening now. Of course it COULD happen but...ANYTHING could be happening to him right now.

LOL, you act like Michael can just do it like magic or something?

I'm sure if he was ready to perform, he'll just do it without having all these assumptions. If you live up to an assumption, then you're just pushing it a bit, not saying you are, but still...

We can all say "oh it's easy for Michael" and/or "it's hard for Michael" because of this and because of that but we all don't know Michael's struggle. Only Michael knows what he want so I get what some of you are saying but not making it seem like Michael's suddenly afraid to do what was too easy for him to do 40 years ago but at the same time we don't even know if he's "anxious" to get on out there.

Something may develop by Grammy time and something may go by the wayside. We don't know.

But that's the mystery of a man named Michael Jackson.

i really dont think other than off the wall and thriller being inducted into hall of fame we will even hear MJs name mentioned at the grammys. i still aint seen proven evidence that the supposed email claiming the tribute is legit. no media outlets have reported it. only MJ fan clubs.

Hasnt Will said he's doing a tribute performance to Thriller? Im sure someone has actually said they're apart of a Thriller tribute.

Actually, the international marketing material that Sony BMG distributed contained information about a tribute performance at the GRAMMYs, picture courtesy of Kevin Scream.

Ne-Yo mentioned he was rehearsing for a tribute performance of Lady In My Life, and that was already recorded for the BET Honors special which will air February 22.

Thanx for that TSCM.

So we know that the NRJ Music Awards were true. When is this 'Star Academy' taking place?

that document also displays TGIM 08 as the global single. In fact it has not been released in many places, and WBSS 08 has taken over. Ofcourse a Grammys involvement is possible, there are multiple reasons why it wuld be the BEST place for his first showing, i would like it to happen, but, i dont see it happening.

Not an optimist eh?

I think Sony (or MJ) changed their mind about TGIM and chose WBSS as the main single.

every radio station i ask about that mix up tell me that SONY told them to cancel TGIM and run with WBSS because MJ is not with sony, so he has no choice. Not my words, theirs.. so MJ may not be with sony like we all assumed.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Mark my words. The only performance to do with Thriller will be a tribute done by will.i.am, akon and or fergie.

If MJ performs I'll be beyond amazed.

ok so there are more to be announced

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

If Michael is performing, I don't think they'll announce. If they announce will.i.am, Fergie, Akon and even Kanye West, then I will be more likely to say MJ is definitely going to perform, if not at least be there.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

If MJ wasn't with Sony then why would both MJ and Sony be going through this promotional effort for Thriller 25? Sony especially doesn't make sense.

Re: Grammy Performers: Beyonce, Foo Fighters...and Michael Jackson(rumor)?

Im sorry but that is incorrect
Mj is indeed with Sony as far as anything to do
with Thiller25 _ Now Sony can promote it as they
wish - that has always been the case _ MJ may not
be with Sony as far as any new albums - but for any
re-releases such as T-25 he certainly is affliated with them.

I also believe thay might have made a deal for future recordings
depending on how this T-25 promotion goes .. Sony is going all
out here and will saturate the media this month .. That tells me
there is something in the mix going on between MJ and SONY NOW.

SONY is in this biz to make money too - and I believe they are
bettingon MJ now and want to be a part of that .. and MJ is no
dummy - if they will back him like thay are NOW_ he will take it
as No one can promote him any better.

Not if it's meant to be a surprise!

do they accept surprises tho ? i've never heard of anyone making a surprse appearance/performance at the grammys.
grammys are just like the oscars. no surprises just scheduled things
