Have You Met Or Got To See Michael In Person?

Thanks for sharing, Ape! :) It was certainy worth a mention. You described it in such a way that I felt I was right there, and I find it enjoyable to read stories like that. How fun that you interacted a bit with his nephews!
So you'll never know for sure if that was MJ or not...(man, that's gotta be hard)

So there's my little story of my brief sighting of the King of Pop.

Nice story.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it (as short as it was). Anyway, I remember he was on his way to ride an indoor roller coaster. I had gone on that roller coaster, (because I had been at the right place at the right time) awhile back when they were looking for groups of people to be guinea pigs for it, before the ride was actually opened to the public. It was INCREDIBLY FAST! I remember thinking "woohoo!" but at the same time I was thinking, "my gosh this feels like it's going to fly off the track any minute." We later learned they decided based on that "experiment" to reduce the speed for the actual public. When I learned this... I was all "Oh, great to know. No problem. It was only MY LIFE!!!!" (But is was very fun when it was that fast! So when I rode it , it was MUCH faster than when MJ rode it. Haha! )

But obviously, I survived it and lived another 30 years just to be able to rub it in to him one day. So it all worked out quite well.

When I went on that ride the first time after it was open to the public I was like "Aaaah, piece of cake!"

So MJ got only cake.

Hehe.

I would love to hear more stories...great or small!

Anyways, I understand why not many people have shared their stories in here and it is disappointing that there are probably some wonderful stories that people could share, but are probably too nervous to share anything in here about it now.

those who have real stories to share have nothing to worry over, all those have been received well

Thanks for sharing your story, Ape. Awesome story.

guess his nephews were there and were talking to us (though I didn't know they were related to him) they just said to make sure not to talk with some nutty looking fan because he was actually Jimmy Kimmel or something. Was there trying to make the fans look bad. So we appreciated that. They also gave us a sticker for our car ("Mike Jack" sticker) Very stylized and cool

You know what, I do not think that those young men were his nephews. I think they were his cousins. A lot of people didn't know who they were. Mike has a lot of family. He can't top me, though! LOL. They were there in the court house talking to fans and did this Mike Jack Crew thingy. I remember that there was a thread on the old MJJF board back in 2004 I think. Yeah, it was 2004. They wanted to do something with the Mike Jack Crew, like a club or something. I have been told that his cousins were cool with the fans during that time and I believe that was they way of supporting Michael. Yeah, the phony fan was from the Jimmy Kimmel show and his name was Jake Byrd, a complete loser and ass. Anyway, great story. You never know, that could have been MJ.

You are very welcome. Really, an indoor rollor coaster? I have done that once and it was so slippery. Never again! LOL. NEVER! LOL!

But obviously, I survived it and lived another 30 years just to be able to rub it in to him one day. So it all worked out quite well.

LOL! That is nice. I wish I had MJ stories to tell, but I do not. He doesn't come to Philly that often, well, basically, never. The last time he came to Philly was in 2000 when he was doing Invincible. I read it in the Daily paper (Philadelphia Daily News) that he was at some place and someone spotted him. LOL. Damn! I just wished that person who spotted him was me. However, my sister went to school with someone who did met MJ in a record store in Philly's South Street. The guy was so excited.

Once I'm pretty sure and the other time I was feet away and didn't realize it!

First time: I think, was August 1987. I was 15 and at Disneyland with my family (first & only time we'd ever been in CA). It was late afternoon, sunny & hot and my parents wanted to leave for a couple of hours to cool off at the hotel and then come back later in the evening. I was lagging behind them as we were walking back up Main St toward the entrance/exit. I looked toward the middle of the 'street' and on one of those trolly things (or was it horse-drawn? man, I can't remember) coming my way there was a group of people who looked familiar, but I couldn't place how. I kept looking curiously as the trolly approached, when my eyes moved to the guy sitting more on my side of the trolly. He was wearing a fedora and had just lowered his sunglasses, like maybe to wipe them clean a bit. I caught eyes with him directly and was completely dumbstruck. I stared, barely moving, entranced for a couple of seconds as we passed. I smiled shyly and looked away.

Only then did it hit me... OMG, that was MICHAEL! The other people seemed to be some of the Jackson family (& possibly recognizable security as well) with a couple of kids, probably MJ's nephews. I was so shocked that I can't say who else was actually with him, lol. I walked in a daze, wanting so much to go back and be close, but I didn't dare be rude or yell something. I knew I must just let him be, let him enjoy his time, but, OH, I wanted to turn around and run to him. I told my parents, who didn't quite believe me at first, but they still insisted on leaving. That was awful. Michael's here and you want to take me away from him??!!!

When we got back that evening, of course, I was all eyes for MJ, desperately searching every place there might be a back entrance to a ride. Never saw him again. I had doubts, you know... was that really him? Was it just someone with similar eyes? It had all happened so fast that how would I ever know for SURE? Later that night I was standing in line with my sister for Captain EO and I heard some people in line say something like "Yeah, Michael was here today! Cool. I can't believe it". I don't know if they (or I) were truly right, but it's certainly nice to believe that I caught eyes with Michael from just a few feet away like that :)

To continue... the second time I was close:

Denver, March 24, 1988. We lived in Colorado Springs (65 miles south of Denver) and I had a ticket for the first Denver Bad Tour show that night. My mom was taking monthly private lessons at the university in Boulder (north of Denver), so she arranged for us to just spend the whole day up north. We'd go to Boulder, then back to Denver for dinner and then she'd drop me off at the arena for the concert.

As we drove through Denver, the radio stations were going nuts about MJ. One said that he had supposedly just left the hotel for some sight seeing around the area and that they'd give out some info about MJ sightings later. (I was 16 & crazy excited ;-) A while later we were north of Denver on the 'Boulder Turnpike' heading to my mom's lesson. A super fancy silver limo with very dark windows ended up right next to us in the right lane. My mom joked, "Maybe that's him. EXEC 2. It could be. You never know." EXEC 2? She pointed out that that was the license plate on the limo. MJ? Yeah, sure. I was listening to Bad and so kind of dancing and singing along, looking like a dork, trying to see inside the back of the limo. The only thing I could make out was that someone was inside, but it was just too dark to tell who it could be. I mean, what are the chances, right? My mom sped up and we passed the limo and went on to Boulder.

Maybe 3 hours later we were heading back into Denver in rush hour traffic. The radio station hadn't said anything about MJ sightings the rest of the afternoon (I'd been listening with my walkman when not in the car). As we approached downtown they suddenly decided to share that MJ's limo was on a certain overpass, just two blocks from his hotel. My mom tried to speed up, but it was pointless. We were too far away and traffic was too heavy.

Then the DJ said those awesome words: "He's been riding around this afternoon in a silver stretch limo with the license plate 'EXEC 2'" My mom and I both screamed, LOL. Man! We were right there! It WAS him! (At least, supposedly it was.)

You know, if MJ wanted to hang out with me in London, that would be TOTALLY ok too. I mean, I'm 37 now and I promise I'll be calm =;-)

:wtf2 happened early on in this thread :wtf:.......

I remember an article or something like that, where it said you could win a trip to meet up with Michael. Maybe this was in the Black&White magazine, something like that. I would like to hear that story from that person.

I think it would be great to hang out with MJ, play some videogames and beat him (or he me) at some great Xbox 360 games, haha. I really ain't interested one bit in these weird-ass stories from some people...about how they had a relationship with him, yeah ok....i do know alotta people are alittle 'crazy' too, with too much fantasies.

I really don't care much about with who he does have relationships with, maybe cause i'm a guy i guess? , lol. One thing is for sure though, several videos and articles have made it clear what a friendly and down to earth man he is...and how he loves to have fun and just fool around...hanging around with a person like that is always cool :)

I agree. I love that he's a kid at heart. I love people like that. Who joke around and have fun. When MJ was waving at the window in London, one time he started waving frantically for fun and it looked so funny, and I cracked up and I waved back at him the same way and it looked like he was cracking up too at the whole thing. It was funny. Gotta love him!

As for "meeting" him or having seen him in person.... He was right in front of me in London. :wild: And he looked GORGEOUS! :stretcher So that's the closest I've been to him. :)

I was alone in the dar when i met ya! ooooohhh oooh ooh!!!

How about my first 'sighting' Las Vegas @ the Mirage - about 1990 - 91 or so..... I was working at about 10am picking up some Siegfried & Roy show tickets for a client - left out the front door of the Mirage, planning on walking over to another Hotel/Casino rather than driving (too much hassle, parking and all)

There was a huge crowd in the front - with more people clumping in the corner of the front area - this is valet, normally not that crowded during the day.

...I hear a voice - Steve Wynn's - hotel's owner...and then he says a familiar name, and I hear a familiar voice. The Mirage has these two dolphin status with little bronze frames around them, makes great little ladder to see over heads....and with one step up, there was Michael Jackson :wild: next to Steve Wynn...he was announcing a future exhibit that was supposed to be built at the Mirage (Jackson Attraction - never happened)

Anyway - I watched him talk, and then I stepped between where he was and the door, so he and his security group walked right past me and into the casino...where I followed for a little bit, and then shrugged and had to leave and deliver the tickets... (he was walking very quickly thru the casino, I'd have to run to keep up) - some did

oh and I was in my little work uniform, name tag and all.... - I felt silly, yet exhilarated!

There is a part two at Circus Circus - same day in the afternoon - I can post that experience if anyone is interested.

Here's another one from mjjangel2002:

the meeting with mike was so hilarious he was shoping in mall here in tel aviv while me and two other fans follow him we sneak into the mall from the car parking and one of the fans had some tape with her so she played billie jean and i start to moonwolk and the next thing i know mike was
right behind me claping with his hands so i turn around to make sure it was really him and he start to make some dance move and than he gave me a big hug and i told him you hug like a boo bear
instad od poh bear and he giggle all over the place, and that's how he remember me the next time i saw mike was in the histry tour in germany than i met our sweet k.d for the first time also
we stayed below mike's hotel for daysand mike came out to vist some
art museum in there and i start to call him boo bear he start to search me with his eyes all over the fans than he found me and he start giggling again and come close and shake my hand and he said
" again you miss boo bear" mike is such a sweet man

again this is not me, I'm just posting it in here. :D

ooo...I wanna hear the circus circus story..please post...

It´s so sad that so many people start running and screaming as soon as he arrives at the hotel or comes out from the hotel. This happened so many times when I was in London and that breakes my heart every time I am there...well some things will never change :(

I've only been to his concert and that im truly thankful for
But i am yet to meet him...but apart of me doubts that will ever happen

Okay - part two is longer...so I delivered my tickets, and then drove to the airport to work. While there, I looked at Sunday's paper where there was actually a little press release that stated that MJ was going to be at the Mirage in the AM for a press conference and then go over to Circus Circus and visit the upstairs arcade and mini circus later on in the afternoon - about 3pm.

When I was done with work, I still had enough time to get there. I raced home, changed out of the uniform and went to the Circus Circus....on the way in, I saw two Mirage limos parked out front...okay....and then went up to the arcade area - 100's of people...and again, I couldn't see anything but a FEDORA in the middle of the crowd!!...

I watched the Fedora move thru the crowd and then go in the back, disappearing...hmm...well, he's got to come back to those limos...so I went back down stairs and 'hung out' by the limos....no one there, except for the drivers...no fans, no tourists...

about 15-20 minutes passed, then there was a 'whoosh' - the doors to the Circus Circus opened, and out popped Michael - followed by all the crowd and a little entourage, including a blond boy(?) - I took a photo of the limo and then I took a photo 'in' the limo thru the driver's window...this is before digital cameras - I had the type you developed later on...no idea what type of photo I caught....it actually ended up to be a very nice photo of Michael...in the limo - and several years later, I asked him to sign the back of the photo

This was the first time I had ever seen him anywhere - so I was super hyped and this is one of those memories - the whole day where I will probably never forget it...all the details - it was fun, amazing, a little crazy and now I wouldn't do the 'camera in the car' thing - but still....

Well I just waved at him and smiled and didn't say a word. Not even when he was right in front of me!   I mean, I am not one of the hysterical ones who scream his name and all that anyways...that's just not me. I'm generally not a very loud person...I'm more of the quiet type. And INCREDIABLY shy...So yeah, all the screaming and "hysteria" kind of scares me every time. When we were at the hotel I kept telling the fans around me to stay CALM...and when the kids came out and some people started screaming I told them to stop and not scream when the kids are out. They did actually stop, which surprised me, to be honest! And some fans around me said they are gonna jump over the barrier to get to MJ, and I was like "If ANYONE jumps over the barrier, I will personally jump after them to stop them, I swear!!!!!"  Fans did try to mob MJ when he came back from watching Oliver. We were all supposed to stand behind the barriers...but once MJ's bus drove in, some fans just went right in with it and all of the sudden rushed forward and just started "charging" towards MJ when he got out. Gosh, that looked SO SCARY and it freaked me out and I got SO ANGRY...you have no idea!!! Me and this one other guy ran after all those fans and started pulling the fans off and I was yelling at all of them. That was the only time I got loud...because I got so scared they are gonna hurt MJ, so I couldn't just watch. I don't think I have ever used as many F-words as I did then. I was like "YOU F**KING IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!! GET THE F**K AWAY FROM THERE RIGHT NOW!!! WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?????!!!! YOU F**KING MORONS!!!!!!!! LEAVE HIM THE F**K ALONE!!!!! EVERYONE GET THE F**K BACK RIGHT NOW!!!!! YOU F**KING IDIOTS!!!! LET HIM GET INTO THE HOTEL!!!!" :ranting: Gosh, I was SO MAD!!!!!!! And once it was all over, I started crying because I had gotten SO SCARED and it had looked SO SCARY and the thought of MJ getting hurt...it was just too much. I was like "They could have HURT him...don't they understand???!!!!!! WHY do they have to do that??" :boohoo: :boohoo: That made me cry. :( The security actually did come say thanks afterwards for helping them out. :)

Oh and it was funny....when MJ left to watch Oliver....all of the fans just disappeared all of the sudden!! :bugeyed  I have never seen an area clear up so fast!! I was pretty much the only one left. MJ's bus turned around the corner, and *poof* all the fans disappeared. I was like "Everyone just disappeared?" :bugeyed   So I went back to my hotel for a while to get warm and then came back afterwards. I knew all the fans went to the theater, but my "personal rule" is that once MJ leaves the hotel, I let him go. I don't follow. But that's just me. Apparently I was the only one?!  Someone should have filmed it. It was so funny! Me alone at the hotel like "Okaaaay....everyone left,so...what should I do now?"

Ive not met michael yet, just seen him pop out of the hotel, wave at windows, drive in the car. I dont know if my day will ever come.

I personally take a real offence to those "fans" who have been lucky enough to be in the same room as michael for one reason or another, they never got to speak personally to him or anything and then suddenly the story they tell is something along the lines of "oh i met him and i told him i loved him and he touched my hand and said i love you too" - what a crock. These people are only fooling themselves and its pathetic.

 MJ fans know how to make a great disappearing act! LOL

Anyway, I also dislike the mayhem, sometimes I've been scared for my security on such MJ occasions. If only everyone behaved calmly they'd see more of MJ and maybe got an autograph too! I've seen him many times up close but I still want an autograph and a photo! The closest interaction I had with MJ was during the Sony demos period, when our taxi stopped right beside MJ's limo; we started screaming of course and waving from the window , then suddenly he rolled down the window (we weren't expeting that at all!) and smiled at us from the window, and also tried to reach for my present (a Tommy Motolla voodoo doll, don't ask!) with his hand but he couldn't reach it for an inch! But it was awesome! Especially his smile was sooo wide!!! He had that little stubble, too, if you remember. Oh, and his cameraman was filiming us from the seat next to him! I'm sure he's watching it every now and then for laughs!

OMG!!!! :puke: :puke: :puke: And I was talking so quietly I couldn't even hear MYSELF what I was saying! :toofunny: :toofunny: Yeah...talking about footage to watch for LAUGHS!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: (Yeah I was just trying to be funny, Michael!! :innocent: :D :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I wish!! ) Gosh, MJ must get a lot of laughs from watching his fans. I went to MJ's 45th birthday party.. 5 years ago since yesterday,. Met my wife there.. Got about 4 feet away from MJ.
Sorry if you mentioned this later in this thread (I haven't read every post yet), but you say you met your wife there... as in that's where the two of you first met? If so, that is so cool!

I met my husband because of MJ! I lived in Seattle, he lived in Germany. I don't see how we ever would have met, since neither of us travelled or had any connection to each other's city. We both posted several times in an MJ forum in August 2001, right before Invincible came out. One day he looked at some MJ art I had made and loved it so much he decided to email me. The rest, as they say, is history. We emailed, chatted, phoned, etc. Finally met in person a year later and married in 2004. This year will be our 5th anniversary... and all because of Michael! :)

Aaaaw, wow!!! That's AWESOME!!! :)

I've met Joseph, taj and jermaine jackson in Joseph's birthday party in Berlin 2005, they signed my things, talked to them, shake hands, hugs :)..
got to chat with Janet on her birthday in 2005 (then she sent me x-mas gifts) and talked to la toya jackson.
I've never met Michael though that is my MISSION for this summer

:D you guys are LUCKY that have!!!!!

Such a present!! LMAO
I just loved your history.

I loved Summer's history too! :)

I get SO SAD when I imagine that I will never experience something like that... Because, now I know it's just something IMPOSSIBLE...
You know, guys, since Michael passed, my life it's not full of happiness anymore... it's not the same as it used to be. I wish he were here with us again... smilling and getting embarased, as usual. Singing and dancing. Telling us he loves us more. I wish this whole situation could be a nightmare... :(
Knowing that thousands and thousands of people feels the same way that I do, somehow it conforts me, you know? I wish we all would be ok one day.
Sorry, I just needed to say that.
