Sure do, I was just like you at the beginning. Started with the traditional "Thriller" and "Off The Wall" album material, then moved onto the "Bad" album and so forth. Here are some fantastic MJ songs you'll love:

-Streetwalker (on the special edition Bad album)
-Jam
-In The Closet (I've always preferred the single version which you can find on i-tunes)
-Dangerous
-Will You Be There
-Stranger In Moscow
-Blood On The Dance Floor
-History (remix version from Blood On The Dance Floor album)
-Unbreakable
-2000 Watts
-Threatened
-One More Chance

^ Adding "We've Had Enough" to that list.

Welcome to the madhouse, Jacksonstyle. HOOOOOO.

Kind of jealous that you get to start the journey from the beginning!
It would be amazing to live through the fandom from the start again. However this time, there is the fact that he is no longer with us. But it's great that you've discovered him anyhow. I'd make a list of songs/vids/interviews for you to look at but im sure you'll eventually see all of them so just enjoy it all !

I hate to see threads by newbies saying "I'm sorry I was one of the haters." or "I kinda liked him but now I'm fan after his death" LOL

Hi all, another semi-newbie here. I'm Meg and I'm from San Antonio, TX. Well, I'm not sure what all to say without rambling forever, so I'll try to keep it short.

I loved Michael all through the 80s, but lost interest in music generally in the early 90s, so I didn't listen or know much about what he was putting out. But the last couple of years I've been rediscovering the bands/artists I loved back in the day, and Micheal is one of them. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, wanting to find some accurate news about all aspects of his life. I love his voice, his soul and his dancing.

I've been checking out youtube, and some of the concert dvd's available here (to the neglect of my school work!), and I have to say the man put on an amazing performance. I truly wish I could have seen him live. His death hit me much harder than I would have expected, I realized that when I watched the memorial and bawled through the whole thing. For days after whenever I heard I'll Be There I'd start in again.

Even though I didn't listen for a long time, I always got ticked off at the way the press treated him, and just wished they'd leave the poor man alone. The nickname they gave him was one of the cruelest things I've heard in my life.

I believe that there are artists that allow their soul to shine through in all its beauty and glory, rather than depending on catchy tunes or just a good voice. Michael was one of the few, and he'll be sorely missed.

Looks like I rambled anyway  Oh well...

p.s.-someone mentioned court documents earlier in the thread. I'd love to read them. If anyone can point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Jacksonstyle/Jeffrey, ScreamER71 and ChristosM from another recent addition to the bunch, myself! :waving: My 'situation' mirrors your, ScreamEr71, to a degree. Having been a big fan in the eighties, I lost sight of Michael for a long time, apart from catching some videos on MTV, seeing the screaming headlines etc. The only thing I followed a bit more closely was the second trial. I only returned with force after Michael's passing, which I regert but there you go... :frustrated: News of his passing hit me harder than I anticipated. I too lurked around for a bit before joining. I've wanted to catch up and read as much accurate news as I can now. I have raided YouTube almost nightly and watched Michael videos there. Thank you for listing some of your favourite songs in this thread, by the way. :) I'm taking notes and also trying to decide which album to buy next. I have Off the Wall and Thriller (personal faves) already and I think I'll buy Bad next. I had Bad in cassette form when it came out but I never replaced it with a CD. I came this close to buying the special five CD box that recently came out the other day but since I have two of those five albums already, I left it on the shelf. But enough of my ramblings now. Once again, welcome from a fellow newbie! :D

Welcome!

It's great to see all the new fans, especially since I'm one too.

I can't tell you how many nights now that I've been up till 6 or 7 in the morning just watching youtube videos, listening to his music and trying desperately to get all his music and listen to it and I come to this forum everyday and I've learned a lot of things about MJ. I've gotten plenty of headaches, had many laughs, and tears while reading countless threads.

Actually now when I hear the news and something is said to the extent of "those crazy MJ fans want a lock of his hair" or about some fans trying to steal his body I can't believe it. From what I've read on this forum the MJ fans are some of the most sane fans, yes they have crazy moments but nothing to that extent. Most of the craziness is from the threads that contain the words "gold pants." :lmao:

I just wanted to say quickly how wonderful all your responses are to Jacksonstyle. When i was over at the official MJ forum, someone put a post up like this and every one laid into him/her saying they were only a fan because he had just died and wanted attention, and wasnt a 'true fan' Ive been a fan since i was a toddler (20 years) and i found it disgusting that there were treads dedicated to slating 'new fans' A fan is a fan end of. so yeh, congratulations to you all for being such lovely human beings!

And welcome Jacksonstyle! Im new to the forum myself although i have been a fan since i was a wee nipper. I often impress my friends with my stupid amounts of MJ knowledge so if you have any questions feel free to send me a private message. x
