The vibe is similar to Hotstreet, but it has a clipped timing to it, like a few Burt Bacharach songs (if you're a Bacharach fan). And I think that irregular part of the beat is what makes it interesting altho some have commented that it's a bit offish? I give the song an 8 for Michael's voice, melody quality and the "feel good" vibe alone...but I'd add 2 extra points becuz it's RIDDLED with MJ singing the word "gurrrrrrlllll" (one of my fave things) mmmmmmmm :wub: Those ad-libs are yummy shwummy! I'm officially sold on getting the Japanese version now. Totally gotta have it. The "gurrrllll" parts hit my weak spot. :p

I don't like this song. It sounds like incomplete
and the chorus could be better than that

I love Burt Bacharach.

A lot of Michael's compositions have a clipped or uneven sound, like a stacatto vibe, but still seem to flow beautifully, like "Smooth Criminal" and 'Heartbresk Hotel", that's part of his musical genius. And his ability to sing over chopped up rhythms and beats is pure brilliance, so I'm excited.

i agree. it may happen instantly or it may take an extra five minutes...but in the end...MJ's releasing something we haven't heard....and we're hooked.

Ya'll need to stop posting the full songs, I can't resist, lol. I just decided to listen. The track is cut off, I wonder if it's that way on the CD. I doubt it. I love it, absolutely love it. The chorus is incredible, the way the vocals are layered and Michael harmonizing with it at the end is beautiful. I think the beat is hot as hell too. Its got that Michael Jackson feel all over it. And the way he sings it in that rhythmic way is too good. I don't know why anyone wouldn't love this here song.

Haha! I knew you'd cave. :lol: And I knew you'd love it! There's about 17 seconds missing as the song is a total of 4 minutes and 27 seconds. So we have 17 more yummy seconds to look forward to. ^_^

:wild: ok so I'm bad, but I also couldn't help myself and I listened 'Now That Was HOT' It was much better than listening on youtube, it had the real feel to it and I agree WBSS the beat really blended on that version and never sounded old. If that was released as a single I would definitaly queue for it.

Yeah wendy2004 and rita, I couldn't help myself. I've got no will power, lol.

The song is just the type that I really love. The whole feel and sound is rocking. It does have that disjointed feel, but again, part of Michael's brilliance is taking disjointed music and making it flow, a lot of his compositions are disjointed, but they totally work. And his ability to sing in that cliped, stunted way with that timing and control is amazing.

ok...i have suddenly gotten the habit of working out.

dang...this guy is able to harmonize in a way that sounds like the synthesizer that's being played to accompany him. this dude is an effin monstrosity in the talent department.

and the downloads..lol....they've gone up 20 in the time it took for me to listen to the song! HHAHAHA!!:lol:

I think I'd like it with less synth, yet it was the early 80's so...

The begining takes a while to get started, and the chours is kind of hard to define. Nice harmonies...um...I should have listened to the entire thing....(sorry Michael):unsure:

Does he get more animated near the end? Crap, I should listen to it again. Yeah, it's O.K. I guess. Needs more of a defined sound, a catch or something. -_-

Ain't that the truth. That's what I noticed. The way Michael harmonizes at the end with the synths is incredible. Vocally, he's a beast.

And I like synths, I don't know what the problem with them is, lol.

Well..its ok...probably at that time (in the 80's) I would have enjoyed it more but it doesnt have the same timeless feel to it that the rest of the songs on Thriller have. However I do agreee with those that say they would prefer it over TGIM.

sheer disco-funk brilliance. he should've made some alternative LP collectively with its bass-kickass sisters She Got It, Work That Body etc. - would really be retrospective in today's synth-heavy, funk-influenced vibe.

anyway, it sure beats the cheese - i can think of 3 tracks this could have replaced.

About Got the hots, if I can get past the 70's disco-ish sounding music, the song is pretty good. I love how Michael says "giiirrrll" a couple of times toward the beginning. I can see why it wasn't on Thriller though. For all time is wayyyyyy better! I want to hear all of Mikey's unreleased songs, esp. from Dangerous and on.

Heck no. I LOVE "TGIM", the song is fantastic. And say what you will about Paul McCartney, but his voice works wonderfully with Michael's, and I love the rap at the end.

And I'm not pretending to like "Got The Hots", the song is on fire. The rhythm and vocal layering is beautiful, and Michael's vocals are tops, with the way he harmonizes, ohhhhhhh.
